I must be the only one who loved the musical numbers. They were so joyful, I was smiling throughout

Love this film! It is a wonderful film. I smiled and laughed for about 90% of it (there are sad bits and dramatic bits) Absolutely love this film.

Good and fair review. It did pile a lot in but I think got away with it. That short bit with his sister and the daytime disco really enriched it IMO

Just managed to see Blinded by the Light. I absolutely loved it. A terrific story played out by some wonderful new young talent and some brilliant oldies too! I liked how the music was placed and the musical numbers were cleverly done and not cringeworthy in my opinion, just different. To have Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman and Blinded in such a short time is incredible really.

I started off not liking this much, generic on the nose and cliched, but have to say it totally won me over and ended up really enjoying it. Robbie's comments about it capturing the sense of importance of discovering music at that age rather irritating. I'm turning 40 this year and discovering music still captures me like it did when I was teenager. Music I's always vitally important!

I liked it better than Yesterday, movies with the same theme but different artists. Yesterday fell apart at the end imo as they had no idea what to do with the ending so the manager suddenly became this 'managers are evil cause money' character that he had to beat with honesty to get the girl. Soon as she said 'Stop in the name of money' I just wanted to turn the entire thing off. This movie however; on point from start to finish. Motivated characters, a world that shapes around them and a proper ending.

I think it shows best how music can take anyone out of a bad existence and give them hope through music.

There were moments that seemed genuinely heartfelt, but the script did feel like a first draft. The mother was one dimensional, the awkward musical numbers made it difficult to suspend disbelief, and there was a pretty crucial flaw with the New Jersey scene. More work and it would have been a solid four star film.

I saw this film in a mystery showing and it’s the first film I’ve ever walked out of without watching all of it. I only made it through an hour. This film felt like a school production, the main actor just wasn’t very good, the musical numbers were just embarrassing to watch. Save your money and watch anything else instead.
