+kreshBACON I feel ashamed and embarrassed of admiring such thing. Moving to Canada and getting married at 21 drove me away from metal, it wasn't until 2 years ago that I got back in it when I realized my kid was growing up and enjoying some of the newer softer rock bands.

You can not consider yourself a power metal fan without listening through the whole discography of Blind Guardian. Their most epic album "Nightfall in the Middle Earth" is a masterpiece of music beyond any genre. Their ballad "The Bard's Song: in the forest" is sung by millions of metal fans around the globe.

Hansi's vocals are one of the Powermetal vocals that I really can enjoy. He has a perfect combination of rhaspiness and range. Like Matt Barlow of Iced Earth. :)

A&P-REACTS by the way, just as Sabaton lyrics are almost always about war, Blind Guardian writes songs about fantasy literature and old myths. Mirror Mirror is from album which is about events in Tolkien's Silmarillion.

Blind Guardian is one of my absolute favorite bands ever... by far the best Power Metal band I've ever heard. The album "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" (from where this song belongs) is on my top5 albums ever. So many songs I can recommend... "Valhalla", "The Bard's Song" (specially live), "And Then There Was Silence", A Voice in the Dark", "And the Story Ends", "The Curse of Feanor", "Somewhere Far Beyond", "The Last Candle", "Sacred Worlds", "Majesty", "Wheel of Time" and so many others. If you like Iced Earth check also Demons & Wizards, its a project of Hansi Kursh (BG vocalist) with Jon Schaffer from IE, they have 2 albums released.

Mordred's Song by Blind Guardian live or The Script For My Requiem Live

This has to be one of my favorite songs. It's... Happy power metal!

Here if you need to see what Blind Guardian is really like ... The Bard Song will give u goosebumps and yes in the German scene knowing this song by heart is like breathing fresh air

Blind Guardian are in a league of its own. The audience engagement they get just because their melodies are so memorable. There's Power Metal and then there's what Blind Guardian used to do.

Navigating your channel since I've discovered you not too long ago, and, even though it may not have any big impact, I wanted to tell you my opinion! Blind Guardian is my favourite band and honestly, their music, with a big inspiration from Tolkien's fantasy stories always interested me. The folk they add to the mixture just blends in so well, in a band that I would recommend you checked a bit deeper! Always waiting for any new Blind Guardian content :P

Awesome band! Seen them several times at Wacken Open Air! Amazing! I love their 1993 Live Album: Tokyo Tales. And yes, Valhalla is an amazing song

That entire album is INCREDIBLE and while the audience plays a big part here, the studio version actually offers a lot more vocal wise. BG has a TREASURE CHEST of great albums, my personal favorites being Nightfall in Middle Earth and Imaginations From The Other Side. Check out "The Script For My Requiem" if you liked this. One of my favourite bands, you guys just have to hear Symphony X - The Accolade Symphony X are absolutely the most underrated power metal band they're earlier stuff is mind blowing.

You should listen to the studio albums up until A Night at the Opera, especially the one this song comes from: Nightfall in Middle Earth. The production back then was something out of this world!

My favorite PM band. One of the best! You two are in for a wild ride because this band kicks ass! There music ages like a fine wine. I've been listening to this band for over 20 years now and I seriously love there music more now than when I first started listening to them. The band's sound has evolved over time which is also one of the strengths of the band as the band has of yet stagnate getting stuck writing the same cookie cutter routine that a lot of older bands get. The first two albums are very 80s Thrash/Speed Metal. They then took that style into a Power Metal direction and then evolving into a more Progressive and Symphonic Power Metal style. You will of course find fans that gravitate more towards a specific era of the band but you will rarely find a fan that doesn't dislike any of there albums. Blind Guardian are that good. Go check out A Script For My Requiem, Sacred Worlds, The Bard Song, and Valhalla (Live version from Imaginations Through The Looking Glass).

The singer has a side project with the guitarist from Iced Earth called Demons & Wizards ... check out Crimson King from them.

Fiddler on the green by Demons & Wizards is one of the most beautiful, haunting songs you’ll ever hear in your life.

Valhalla & Another Holy War. Plus you need to see the 2008 Live video, or the 2003 Live Bard.

Can't go wrong basing a song or album on The Silmarillion--the creation story of Middle Earth, which is perhaps the most wonderfully realized "imagined world" ever created in literature.

If you liked this you should definitely check out another pionieering force in power metal - RHAPSODY OF FIRE. Dawn of Victory from Live album is a good start. You should also react to other Blind Guardian songs like Valhalla or Bard Song.
