The way you explain each step with a beginner friendly way is amazing. Love the way you take time to take us step by step through the process. Thank you
So satisfying to watch. I’ve been using a blender for a while but I love to watch good quality tutorials in case I pick up any gems and this certainly does not disappoint. Fantastic tutorial. Thank you for sharing. ❤

Great thorough tutorial. Even for those who have many hours of blender under their belt.
thank you straight to the point and a good speed of explaination, not too fast or slow!
This is my first time delving into hard surface modeling and this is amazing! You've taught me so many fundamental concepts I didn't even know existed!
Thank you! This is the best blender tutorial I have ever seen for users that for example come from another 3d software or are already using blender and working with it, but have not made most out of it´s fantastic user interface design! Perfect pace, not a second of lost time in this fast track world! :) And such a nice aesthetic! Haha, just read all the similar comments underneath! Well, that speaks for itself!
I love this short form content. Great supplement to your more detailed tutorial work 💪
Just what i need! a Hard-Surface Modeling Guide 😁 Thank you Mr.Louis and CGBoost Community
This is one of the most comprehensive and simple tutorial about using the blender modeling tools I have seen I love it

the shrink-wrap tip is so awesome! I think use it in a variety of ways, when want to connect only a part of it. It's a really good tip.
Thank you for this tutorial, it’s help me with a better understanding of the shrink wrap modifier and a few other minor things 🙏
Thank you for putting this together!
The method of explanation and audio performance, as well as the huge amount of information I got in this video, made me can't believe that I watched this lesson for half an hour in one breath without even blinking. You are really great and the best teacher You are a lovely best teatcher
I first heard of Louis Du Mont when I got the Robotic Planet course. I’m a big fan now.
You made subd modelling look like a walk in the park. Well done, sir.
Your tutorial is the best tutorial to learn basics of blender in a profound and fun
This is a very well made tutorial. Good use of shortcuts and good explanation.
Thank you!!! You need to make more of this hard-surface modeling videos. This made me much more better at modeling. I will come back after one year and tell my progres.

This is why I always watch anything even a beginners tutorial even after almost 15 years of 3D modeling and 6 with blender, I learned about the "y" shortcut to "yank" faces, I was always doing edge loops and "v", you can always learn something everyday

I had been wondering about the 'Slice' option in booleans for years... Thank you!
First time in my life I did something from first try, and I love it😍
Great tutorial! Followed your instructions and everything worked as expected. I was able to branch out and make the legs a little more interesting using the concepts shown in the video. Best tutorial for modeling a complete object I have come across so far.

Hi, everyone! To everyone that's following this tutorial in Blender 4.1, here some things: 1 - Shade Auto Smooth doesn't exist anymore, so you have to go to Modifiers (wrench icon) > Normals > Smooth by Angle and then you Shade Smooth 2 - About the Shrink wrap, if nothing happens, try selecting Negative instead of Positive If I see more diferences throughout the tutorial, I'll edit the comment!

This is definitely THE TUTORIAL for progressing beginners. Amazing 🔥🔥.
That was really fun ..thank you
the ctrl-2 shortcut had me baffled. I had no idea it existed. I've used blender for 9 years, with addons designed to speed up hard-surface modeling. Just goes to show that periodic refreshers can uncover some small, but useful timesavers that I've missed.
Thanks great tutorial! Cheers.
Thanks for this fun educational dose I am a complete beginner and I was able to apply this lesson without any problem You are the best teacher for Blender

Nice. I never thought to use shrinkwrap on just selected faces to merge parts like that.
I absolutely love Blender... my last contract was with Warner Media... it wasn't a choice... I got a Maxon 1 floating license... thank God I have been using C4D since R6... the only monetization of blender is being an instructor... there are a lot of you... I TRULY HOPE that Blender will be in the pipeline of major studios... like soon
holy shit, i've been using Blender since 2.78 and literally never tried that Add Primitive tool you use at 17:50. i had no idea you could add objects 3ds max style without add-ons.
Thanks for using vanilla Blender😊
great👍
The best of the best
quick shortcut for the quad sphere, if you ad in a cube and press CTRL+ (number) you will get a subdivided cube divided to the number you pressed. you can then apply the modifier, i think its a little less confusing then the way he showed

Me too! I just watched two tutorials before looking at this one. The first was too fast, and the guy had a very thick accent making it hard to understand. The second one was a little slower but still not as clear as this CG Boost video. This is very well done!
super nice.. which recorder do you record this tutorial video?
Great tutorial! I would only suggest to explain WHAT you do and WHY (imho, it helps to better understand the procedure) instead of listing shortcuts and telling HOW you perform an operation. Btw, thanks!
I bought a video and I'm enjoying it a lot I'm so happy that there are Korean subtitles on KZread, but I'm so sad that the lecture only supports English I'm waiting for the subtitle support to be updated soon
@cgboost
9 ай бұрын
Sorry for that, unfortunately we only have eng subtitles for our courses and Teachable (the platform we use for streaming of our courses) haven't implemented the automatic translate yet as far as we know. We hope the will add this option soon. ~ Masha
Wow
Im pretty sure he knows this but for the people in the comments, there are a lot of shortcuts that you can use for view and a lot of other stuff he did in this video For example the view If you press 1 in your numbpad you get the frontview Press 3 and you get a sideview Press 7 and you get a top view Press 9 and you get the inverse of whatever view you have So 1 + 9 would be backview 3 + 9 would be the other side view And 7 + 9 would be bottom view

Great tutorial. We don't have to combine meshes, making it continous? When does it matter?
@cgboost
9 ай бұрын
You may want yo apply modifiers and combine meshes if you're transferring the model from program to program, or to a game engine, but in this case there's no particular reason to and having separate meshes with unique modifiers allows us to jump back in and amend things easily.
Hi, what do you think can be the problem if after changing shrinkwrap to project and choosing x axis the handle is not touching the cup anymore?
can you make a tutorial on how to plan an interior with strict dimensions. For example planning a campervan layout. Until now I couldnt find anything which really targets on how to create objects which have to have certein dimensions.... would be really cool and helpful!

@@cgboost no problem! Does this even make sense using blender for this kind of projects? I am really new to this and planning camper interiors is my main goal…
@cgboost
7 ай бұрын
@@deepwaterattracted709 softwares like rhino should be better for this kind of modeling. Anyway as far as I know you can do that in blender too, there are many artists that do jewelry for 3d printing, architecture projects etc, so it should be totally possible. You have tools like overlays that tell you the precise dimensions of the elements, or the Measure tool. ~ Masha
Hi, I'm surprised every time I watch your course or Blender course. It seems like it's easy to produce a great-result. (Not at all in my hands). Thank you for the good video. I have a question. I'm a blender beginner and a longtime Maya user. Based on Maya standards, I think there are a lot of polygons in the result, is this because the blender can operate more polygons? Or is it to produce results faster? Usually, in Maya, if I'm going to make a similar result, I don't go with this much wire right before the wire that the Renderer makes. Of course, I understand that it's going to be similar to Maya in Modifier and Edit mode, but as a result, I think I see a lot of wires Did I misunderstand?
@MotherlessImisswhatitoncewas
9 ай бұрын
its because he has a good computer and its either cpu based (eevee) or gpu based (cycles) and its not cpu intensive because of how its rendered. For his example, he is showing you how to produce fast results rather than a performant model that has say 3k tris. He is around 20k tris.
Hi, you can use addons to show the key pressed so it would be easier to follow along
