As working on concepts, I always felt the need of 3Dcoat features in blender. This and the other addons you made are truly a dream come true. Can't thank you enough.

Unreal work you and Jama have both set thus far. The only last thing you could do to render 3DCoat useless is QuickAlpha, using alphas to create and cut geo!

This video has been in my suggested like, since it came out. And I always passed over it (shows how much inherent thumbnail bias we must have!). Finally clicked it today and I'm blown away. This is awesome.

Just bought this tool and it's a lot of fun. I'm not sure if you're taking feature requests, but it would be awesome if there was an option to enable that makes it so the geometry's origin point is at the start of where you begin drawing. That would be really useful for quick, on the fly adjustments of angle and scale adjustments.

BF sale got me, I own both now! It is actually fun to use!

This is very impressive! Although your smoothness controls _aslmost_ get you there, it would still be nice to have an actual Bezier-type system available, where you have Control Handles that would let you move between straight and curved segments in the same stroke, and adjust things after the fact. Of course, "Extrude along Path" (or whatever Blender calls it) does the same thing, but less gently and intuitively. _lol_ Great Addon!

It would be neat to have more immediate visual feedback for some functions like the line tool or the snapping. In the case of snapping, the sampled mouse clicks are visualized as circles, and with the line tool it's just the black line. Just an idea... P.S.: My mind is blown by just imagining how much work in all the nifty details of the alogrithms you have put! P.P.S.: Why would anybody ever want to design a level WITHOUT this software?! :-)

There's an add-on that converts an image to curve which can be converted to a mesh after - so not quite what you're looking for but kind of close. I'm sure there's a lot out there that I don't know about.

There are a lot of experimental programs that can do that, you can find a lot of them on github. The problem is the auto-generated meshes are all very messy, like thousands of evenly distributed little quads. You have to re-topo it anyway

If all those 3d strokes have color on them and an assisted color wheel this would turn into a 3d painting software for desktop just like Quill in VR. Please make that happen 🙏🙏🙏

it would be such a pain to use it though quill works well because you're in Vr ,here you put a stroke you have to edit the placement

@@paulatreides6711 not really. You're already navigating in the view anyway to sketch. The only difference is those strokes either have material properties or vector color assigned to them.

@ALKSNDR you should really 'like" (heart icon) some of the comments, as the YT-algorithm really seems to like that too ;-)

May be a collection can be pre-assigned for all the strokes, the main collection can bloat up quickly. Great addon though! ❤️

when i draw too qickliy with merge to active activated it recognizes a double click and at the same time looses the material for the newer strokes...

This add-on has a lot of potential in long run like you have no idea. It will definitely be one of must-use for modeling workflow. I know this sounds lazy or picky to ask but is it possible to add draw things on one object without creating new object for each stroke? Sometimes it can be bothersome (at least to me) to see number of objects on the outliners. If not, that’s fine. Still an amazing add-on to use. Hopefully I’ll have money to spare for this!

I have box cutter and bought this tool I realized the box cutter is quite buggy when I try to use it and it hides / messhes with the curves has anyone found a solution for this to make the workflow smoother?

So... It's basically a Teya Conceptor (Ex. Polybrush), but inside of Blender, right?

when I press CTRL F the quickcurve UI appears for an instant then goes away. What could be going on?

@ALKSNDR Regarding how to upgrade at 29:07. I see this advice on many places (from other addon developers as well). But, isn't there a better way since removing it will effectively delete any custom preferences set for the addon. Seems so redundant having to re-apply any custom settings when updating addons. Especially if you have lots of addons, this method becomes completely unmanageable. Where are the settings for the addon stored? (Wish someone came up with a universal update solution that automates the process from the preferences screen and keeps custom settings...)

How to move selected object's

eraser does not work for me. when I hold control and draw I draw I see no mask and drop out of Quick Curve mode. :/

I have an issue with this... if I click it close the addon,I need to press every time ctrl+f to draw

I appreciate and absolutely love every one of the add-ons you've created. However I do have one little problem n-gon snappping sensitivity isn't working on mine, and I have the latest version installed with blender 4.0.2 How do I fix this? Again, thanks for all the content you put out.

hey, thank you for the support! can you describe in what way its not working? is snapping in general working? The idea is you just use the ngon snap degrees in the Ctrl D menu and you should have Ngon Snapping. Changing the sensitivity is probably only needed if you have an extremely high DPI monitor, if you are not seeing any change after raising that value it might just need a larger change

@@ALKSNDR I'm basically trying to do what you descibed from 6:35 to 7:00. I have Ngon snapping all the way aat 45 degrees, but when I draw straight lines using the shift+alt hotkey on the new version of he add-on, the lines don't snap to the 45 degree angle

are you using a pen or mouse in this demo?

I don't like how I can't change hotkeys, but I can look past that. my problem is that I use Mouse Button 5 to pan while I have shift+MMB mapped to something else in Blender, but this completely breaks panning in QuickCurve. It seems that it doesn't support the 4th and 5th mouse buttons?

I consider myself an advanced AHK user, and I use hundreds of functions that I wrote every day, but I already have shift+MMB mapped to something else in blender, and I can't ID the quickcurve modal with AHK in a predictable manner. Blender is extremely hungry when it comes to keyboard real estate, even when using advanced macros and custom modifiers, which makes hitkey customization a necessity with the use of add-ons. I hope that it's possible to make the hotkeys more customizable in the quick tools.

When I use Draw Style: Free - I just get stubby straight lines... not long curved lines... I can't see how my settings are any different to those in the video... any ideas? Thank you!

My curves never appear as meshes, only lines. Any help?

May I ask is it pressing L to switch to line mode in all the versions? I am using 3.1, trying to figure out how to draw lines instead of freehand. But it seems like L doesn't work

As always, I'm interested in pushing the envelope. Some ideas that have prompted me to purchase this are: Celtic Links. in the addon tab, there is a button "install ..." somewhere in the top right. click it and choose the zip-file (DONT unpack it and choose some random file inside the zip)

Starting to think KZread has an algorithm for creating random dislikes. Either that or there are trolls who do nothing all day but click random video links so they can click "dislike".

@@ALKSNDR ok so which one should i get ? .. your tie-fighter demo was the best video yet ... i guess most of the stuff from quickdraw made it over to quick shape ? and quickcurve is focused on curve drawing ? if you can, please add blendermarket option if you can make an extensive video for quick shape would also be nice

cool and the only when people start imagining and drawing in 3d THEN you can actually work on its downsides properly!! ACTually great addon... is it free...like blender?

So, through out of my working experience with 3D graphics, I can say that sketching or prototyping doesn't give anything at all, you have to create a technology to create a manufacture.

those addons are cool , but for the price, they are full of bugs even with the latest and recommended versions , don't work properly all the time , conflict with other addons , some shortcut who don't work on every keyboard ,poor ergonomy ..for 30 dollars you expect that it works flawlessly ..and it doesn't
