Looking for the “Random Value” node? Try the add menu, then start typing “random value” while the add menu is active. Then drop it into your network and make the connections.

This man could be the author of Blender for Dummies. I've gotten so frustrated following along other tutorials trying to figure out the maze that is Blender. You articulate the program so well that I've literally never once gotten frustrated working on this project. You go through EVERY SINGLE STEP, and that saves a LOT of time for people. I appreciate that more than you can imagine. Black Belt level teaching skills here

It's a great introduction, better than the famous Donut IMO. But those tutorial that do not show every step of the way over and over have there place as well. Eventually you need to find your way to the various tools of your workflow without being guided!
There was a small bug when trying to find the random value when adding the node through rotation, this can be fixed by adding the node through scale and then disconnecting it and reconnecting it with rotation, love the tutorials btw

THANK YOU! omg
I just finished this tutorial and immediately showed off the result to friends and family. I'm so happy! This is by far the BEST blender tutorial in my opinion. It's super engaging, the hours flew by quickly and I had fun experimenting with lighting, colors etc. along the way. I like that you encourage the viewer to try new things because it's the best way to learn. Also, thank you for dividing the tutorial into many short chapters! It's easier to digest that way. And the summaries in the beginning of each chapter are amazing as well. Having a rough idea of the 3-5 following steps made the whole process feel like a breeze. I tried different tutorials (from a different youtubers) before, and I may have finished them, but it was stressful precisely because there were no chapters and everything went so quickly. I felt like I was following the motions without learning what exactly I was doing and why. I used to get stuck in those tutorials several times and it was frustrating. Sometimes I had to scrap a lot of work or sacrifice the quality of the end result because it was difficult to figure out what I was doing wrong. That's why I'm happy I found your sword tutorial, I never got stuck and I was able to resolve some minor issues that came up within just a few minutes, it felt so easy! The whole tutorial took around two days for me.
I just finished this tutorial. I've been working on it over the past three days, and I'm amazed at how engaging and easy to follow it was! I could follow along in real time without having to do a lot of pausing and backtracking. I've looked into the full course, and I'm definitely getting it! I am a graphic designer and product photographer, and I've been using Blender to build product models for my clients. I enjoy it and want to bring my skills to the next level. Based on what I experienced with this tutorial and what I saw in the trailers in the course, I believe I will jump to several levels ahead. I'm really excited to learn more, and I want to thank CG Fast Track for making this one available for free!
The donut teaches you things to but you taught me so much I even stay up past my bedtime getting to it thank you🙏
This was the best tutorial of my life, Ive been doing Blender for a year and half now, so Ive gained enough experience to breeze through most beginer tutorials but not enough to do my own thing.Thats when I found you! I've learned how to use blender in ways I didn't even know before! I cant wait to see more videos of yours and hopefully I can save enough money to do your courses. 10/10 I'll definitely do again
I just finished this precious course, i don't know what to say all i can say is that it is a great door to learn and familiarize with blender
The truth is that I have nothing but words of gratitude for the incredible tutorial you did, spectacular!!!

Amazing instruction from start to finish! There was never a time when the directions weren't completely clear on what to do or what is important to pay attention to. 10/10

@@Film-Facts-TvI can follow along with the tutorial just fine, my problem is not understanding what the geometry nodes are doing specifically (some of them make sense, others just feel like magic). But I had to redo the donut one over and over until all of the shader node mapping made sense, so some of us just need to repeat it a bunch until we understand it better I guess.
I've never touched blender in my life and I followed this tutorial all the way through. My mind is blown!! Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. This was really addicting. Can't wait to make more.
Had a problem with this section: 00:29:47 I couldn't find the randomizer from the rotate section of the geometry nodes. Until I pulled from the scale section. Then I could disconnect it from scale and attach it to rotation. Problem solved.

I been using blender since 2018, now I know that this is all for beginners and I am always looking for new ways to get better. Knowledge is power and power is a tool. And as we all also know with great power comes great responsibility.
Bro your tutorial are the best, it took me like 6 hours to made this 3 seconds animation but i’m so happy of the results! The best part is that i dowloaded blender yesterday
@CGFastTrack just wanted to say thankyou for creating this tutorial, its both comprehensive and covers a wide area of knowledge for beginners like myself, appreciate your work alot man, youre a great teacher
Excellent tutorial for someone like myself who needs to fast track to the latest version of Blender after years of little use. The scope of topics and the learning of new methods and revision is just right. Converting from right click to left click selection makes the use of Blender easier, such as the use of a right c!ick context menu. Very much appreciated tutorial. Thank you!
Grateful for your tutorials. I was able to create this awesome sword and played around with different lighting, etc. Thank you so much for kickstarting my blender journey!!
Incredible 3 part series. Very much appreciated!
Amazing tutorial, hope to see more from you! Keep up the great work! ❤
This is probably the most beginner friendly tutorial I've ever seen. Most of other shorter tutorials got me confused like 5x in 10 minutes. This one has only one confusing part (to me) in 4 hours. I really enjoyed following this one although some basic stuff like the box selection reminders felt like I'm watching some “I'd never seen a computer until yesterday“ course.
I have finally finished it took me 5 hours but this is the best tutorial it is so easy to follow and so clear thanks so much you have just earnt a subscriber and i'm sure you have earnt many more
It's awesome. you're the only one teacher who actually can teach me in way I remember. Starting to gathering money for full course!

Thank you so much for the great tutorials! Default interpolation was on constant and I could not get the camera animation to stop immediately jumping from one position to the next on the last frame. Just had to change the default interpolation to linear in preferences and on the timeline, delete all keyframes and set them again. Took 20 min for me to figure out, but animation is playing smooth now! 😵💫😅 This is my return to Blender since the 2.x days so I’m trying to problem solve and experiment this time. Good luck to everyone!
THANK YOU SIR I AM A BEGINNER AND ITS HELP ME LOTS TO LEARN
Best tutorial. It was too much practical way of learning. Frustration throughout the time 0%. Love you brother ❤.
best video on yt for blender ( 3 parts )
So excited!
Ok so I was no noob to Blender and been making animated rigged Game ready stuff for a very long time and just wanted to learn more then what I was doing. This took me the same time of each video but I did learn a lot of things i never knew and this is why I followed along. I learned Nodes and how to set them up and learned affects and a lot more then i ever knew. To the regular box modeling and rigging and texturing there is a lot more I did not know. So I think I will join the program next week when I can afford it to learn better ways to doing things. Thank you very much.
This is the best Blender tutorial I have ever scene and a great tutor, literary I mean i stayed focused and ever woke-up till night just to do my project because of your teachings thanks😊...I completed it in 12 to 14 hours minimum .And Still waiting for More videos...

Thank You So Much For the tutorial
Thank you so much the tutorial really helped me a lot starting with blender, I'd like to know if there's any way to completely change the color of the lightning though? thank you again
Just finished this project as a complete beginner. Looks really cool. I will say though that going from the Minecraft thing to the sword is a huge jump. The Minecraft thing is very straight forward and only introduces the basics while the sword introduces most of the modes in Blender I think. I think I may have prefered one or two projects that are in between the Minecraft thing and the sword before tackling the sword.
Thanks you so much!!!!
Although I have some previous experience with Blender, this is the first tutorial series I've finished. I got halfway through the iconic donut tutorial, and stopped for two reasons: chonky computer, and I got lost when my screen wasn't the exact same as in the video. I think the Minecraft tutorial is a better starting point (comparing to either the flaming monkey head or the donut itself). The sword tutorial is a great second project, but personally, it became a blur when I wasn't sure where certain values came from or why this is the next step. That confusion will clear up as I become more proficient. The donut tutorial could make an excellent third project. I appreciate all the teachers in the Blender community, especially those who keep it up to date with the release of Blender versions.
ABSOLUTELY GOATED
Thesewhere awesome tutorials, I would like to keep going with this person, but whooo the price mabye someday I’ll get the pack. Awesome stuff though!!

I love this guy vids he explains so well that everyone can understand this is truly 100percent for beginners but my computer lags cuz of the amount of objects is there a way to fix it?
I loved this tutorial more than blender guru's :)
thanks to you im in!!!
First, thank you so much for providing such a detailed free tutorial, I am having a lot of fun doing this! Now, I am leaving this comment in case someone else find themselves in the same situation. As I was setting the Lazy lightening, I realized that the lightening was not reaching my pommel tip at the same frequency (it reached it the first time at like 126 seconds). I am a total beginner so I am just saying it out of my own observations. Geometry nodes ( or maybe just nodes in general) are quite sensitive or rather order dependent. Even when joining two nodes, the Object info node of the "Pommel time" "wire" needs to be under the one of the "Emitter Guard". This is shown by the twisting connections compared to the gap between the two wires for the two other object info nodes. I may have missed this explanation as I am doing it on my spare time, which is real late at time, but yeah, I though this could help. Edit: played with the connections a bit and it seemed to only truly changed when I switch the order of the connections of the Object info on the Join Geomerty node. I still got a lot to learn! :)
Thank you so much. Really enjoyed this. How would I go about changing the colour of the lighting? Is there a node I can add to make it a different colour?
Great tutorial Guys any good other free tutorials ( i watched this and the donut serie)
Bro, Please coninue making tose videos.. It help me a lot to improver in blender : D
Hey what should i do after this tutorial? i made a karambit with the knowledge from this video and it turned out amazing, thank u for the rock and scratches texture but i dont know what to really do after this
fantastic tutorial, I already followed it some time ago but only halfway due to my old computer which couldn't handle all those effects. but now I have a question: Is there a way to change the color of the lightning effect? because it seems to be a really good tool to use every now and then and changing its color would increase its adaptability.
