Binged watched your video editing tutorial , Loved every bit of it, i just wanted to ask how do you make your green screen transparent in your tutorials and how do i add animations to it after making it transparent, also after making it transparent do i save the animation and bring it to my video editor with other clips, i am a bit confused lol, i am a finance guy filming a course trying to put out a tutorial myself.

one of the coolest blender tutorials on you tube, thank you CG Geek. A nice insight into the blender video editor with the greenbox, and what is possible if you are a little more intense with blender video deals. I'm always thinking of whether I should cut the videos in another program and set to music, but I see again so great blender tutorials and wants to do it with blender. Blender has everything you need. And fortunately, there are also the tutorials on KZread like this one 11:31 this silhouette looks cool, i could well imagine on a black t-shirt, or as a record cover for a cd..... very nice

The issues in the dark shadows are the most important problems I have. I'm ending up with masking out dynamically those spots. It's a painful work if your shot is very long. But it is the best way to get rid of this problems. But in the end this whole chromakey technique of blender is the best I have ever seen. Thank you for your good tutorials!

I'm coming from after effects. So really,, you have to output the image files after keying? That's cheezy, there's no way to hook the output of the composite into the texture of a plane as material? I'm surprised because everything else in blender is connected together but then this tool is just an island? Is there such a thing as pre-composite in blender? I thought I learned of such a thing in previous versions - forget the term though after over a year away from this program. Thanks for learning me though, I subscribed.

I can't see the background image through the plane (yes I enabled transparent), it's just alpha squares covering it where it overlaps. And it still just renders what I had in the compositing tab, rather than what's in the 3D viewport... And before anyone says it, yes I also enabled Cycles, I did everything he said, it appears this tutorial is already outdated or my Blender install is bugged.

Thumbs up to the Blender Foundation and community - making and developing Blender a Multi-Purpose CG and Video Editing software! Though, I hope they will change the node-based compositor to a much non-complex compositor like in After Effects. I mean node-based is good, it's just that it would be better if they added an option to change it for beginners.

The blender compositor is mediocre at best. After Effects is more versatile and much faster (and speed is important in compositing). Personally I love Nuke and therefor also the free Natron (which now is basically dead in the water). Nose based compositing is easier than layer based. Especially for larger composites. Layers get confusing when you have 20 or more 3D elements with all their passes.
