Smoking a unicorn tin from a high grade Castello. What an evolution from the "early days.." It has been quite fun to be allowed to go along for the ride.

Good video, Bradley. In your defense, "suggestion" can influence the way we think about nearly anything; I believe that this is one of the components of 'good' (if you're a seller) advertising. I have a bit of Dunhill Dark Flake left and am enjoying it immensely. My cellar also contains some of the "regular" flake, still to be opened and I'm looking forward to trying it. Sending healing wishes and my appreciation for remaining engaged with us.

Smoking my favorite Virginia as I watch this -- Escudo. I've enjoyed a few tins of Dunhill Flake over the years. The first tin was the little square tin. The next time I bought it, they had gone to the round tin, and I regretted throwing away the square tin. I definitely would have stored the new batch in the square tin.

Reluctance vs reticence mixup. It’s an oldie but goodie

I mix up the blends all the time. I forget which i liked and which I didn't like. Started keeping a notebook. There are just so many out there. 😊

I am Thrilled you tried this blend and I was able to share it with you. As to the power of suggestion, the YTPC is full of tobacco reviews. I have been one of those people that listen to a review on a particular tobacco, run out and purchase a tin and most time am sorely disappointed. That's why Ive gone back to my belief in Like what you Smoke and Smoke what you like. Everyone has an opinion and everyone has different tastes and experiences. Thank you for sharing this video and I continue to put you in my prayers AND keep those videos coming.

Yep, that's a Murray's made Dunhill blend alright, I assumed that would be the case. Murray's famously made the Dunhill blends from 1981 to 2006 or thereabouts. As they operated out of Belfast, their tins were marked as 'Made in the UK' as opposed to 'Made in the EU', which the Dunhill (and later Peterson) tins of later days are marked with after production shifted to Orlik/STG . When Dunhill made their tobaccos in-house prior to 1981, the tins would of course say 'Made in England'. Your tin appears to be a Murray's tin made after 1995 (before that they bore Queen Elizabeth II's royal warrant). Enjoy! That's not only well-aged, but Murray's had access to some fantastic leaf back in the day!

I had an identical tin quite a few years ago and being accustomed to McClelland virginias, I didn't know what to make of it. So light! I suspect it would be great for smoking indoors in mixed company. Pleasant and inoffensive.

When I first saw the thumbnail for this video I thought this was gonna be a follow up to your spam video and you was gonna try some canned anchovies with how that canned looked haha. But I do wish they still had small cans like that, fits perfectly in a pipe pouch.

Bradley, I smoked the Light Flake occasionally, back in the '90s, when it was produced by Murray's. That is a VERY old tin, the tin Murray's used. That shape was once quite common. The current flake is alright, but not like old stuff!

I was given a sample of Samuel Gawith Scottish Autumn Flake, and it's probably the best virginia Flake I've ever smoked. Well, naturally it is no longer available. So, I did some research for a similar tobacco and Dunhill Light Flake keeps coming up, which is AWOL too! Why can't these tobacco companies just get it right? I suppose no good thing can last forever....

I talked with Rachel Gawith and apparently Autumn Flake was one of those mysterious SG blends that didn't exist but was an already existing Gawith blend repackaged under a different name and sold by another manufacturer, some misdealings by an ex-manager. I'm so damn confused. But I'm guessing it's actually Best Brown Flake from my research.

Expectations do affect flavor. For instance, I'm so disappointed that I don't like HH Virginia Flake, and I know it's because I expected it to taste like the sweet Virginia's I was used to. Had someone called it a VaBur with a pinch of dark fired Kentucky I might have loved it... But your assessment matches mine of D.F.. My first real love in the tobacco world this flake was the one that made pick up piping.
