@Ak Gaming Thanks for asking. Depending on the bleeding - yes a baby can survive. I personally had a friend who bled very heavily during the first trimester of all 3 of her pregnancies. She was monitored very carefully by her healthcare provider. Her babies were all delivered healthy and full term. It honestly depends on the cause of the bleeding. Even in cases where the placenta starts to detach from the uterine wall, babies can survive if enough placenta stays in place and the bleeding stops quickly. This is why it's so important to get bleeding checked out by a healthcare provider.

@@cuttinabrizlin10 I'm sorry to hear that is happening. Sometimes a fertilization will happen resulting in a positive pregnancy test but the egg is never able to implant which causes the bleeding. It can also be caused by proper implantation. Unfortunately, right now you have to just wait it out. Contact your healthcare provider and advise them of your positive pregnancy test as well as the bleeding. They may want to order and ultrasound. Hi I am almost a month pregnant and I started bleeding 3 days ago, I went to see a doctor and he gave me meds to stop the bleeding. It did stop but today I'm bleeding again. It's not heavely and I don't see clots the blood is not my usual period blood. Should I be worried. I'm also too nauseous

Am Scared am bleeding again this is my 6th pregnancy I have had 5 miscarriages God protected me am 11 weeks trying 2 stay calm

Spotting with my 7 weeks and twins 😢 on bed rest at the hospital waiting for it to stop to go home! It was a miracle to conceive and even more so with twins! Waiting the next two days until next scan!!! Hopefully they will still be both there strong and with a healthy heart beat

Thank u so much for this informative video. Just stumbled upon it and it has helped me understand a lot of things. I'm currently 8 weeks 4 days, went for my first prenatal apt at 7w5d and everything was fine on ultrasound. I have however since then been bleeding every day (lightly not enough to fill a panty liner but quite progressive and consistent) sometimes dark brown blood, sometimes bright red, once saw a little blood clot when I wiped with a tissue after peeing. Have contacted my gynecologist, she said it's not normal to bleed everyday and she has booked me for checkup in a couple of days. It's my first pregnancy and I'm getting so paranoid and this is the longest 2 days wait of my life lol. Could it be the start of a miscarriage or nothing to really worry about? Thank u

@@TheMaternityMentor thank u so much for your love. It unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. The night of the very day I posted this comment I lost the baby 💔😢. My heart broke so much but I found a lot of healing in listening to other people's experiences, those ones close to me and also here on KZread. I conceived again 2 months after that and I'm currently 14 weeks. I already believe and have hope and faith tht this is our rainbow baby. I pray for this child each and every day and I can't wait to meet this blessing. I'm trying as much as possible to remain hopeful and optimistic through out this journey. Love and baby dust to all the mamas of angel babies💕💕

I've experienced brown spotting and once even a blood clot since 5 weeks straight, not a day has passed that I haven't bled (it's usually brown discharge, not a lot but consistent). I'm at 8 weeks + 4 days now and the baby is surprisingly just fine. The size is great and heartbeat is going strong. I've never heard of anyone experiencing bleeding for this long, it's very frustrating cause I feel really alone in this. :( Have you ever heard of a case like mine?

Thanks for asking! I can understand why this is so scary. I personally have a friend who bled bright red blood every day for the first 4 months of her 3 pregnancies. Her babies were all born full term and are healthy. Everyone is a little different. Be sure to monitor yourself for fever, abdominal pain, and cramping. I’m currently 5 weeks & 4 days pregnant, I started having some bleeding and a bit of cramping. Backstory my HCG levels aren’t doubling but still rising & baby is still growing (week 4 no fetal pole) went to the ER and I was told my beta levels are going up but they’re still not doubling and that the baby is growing and now has a fetal pole. I was also given medication for infection, what could this be? I’ve been told it’s a threatened miscarriage. I’m just trying to get all of the facts before I make a decision.

Few days later I started getting mild abdominal pains, and cramps more like I used to few days to my period. Continued,and on 13/08/22, it became more painful as though my period was beginning soonest. Rushed to the nearest health care center to know what the prob was. About 3 hours after I arrived there, I started bleeding. Was told by the doc that I had miscarried the baby. Went for an ultrasound the Monday after that, but, got no meanful info from the Gynaco,so couldn't know the state of my baby. Still feel nauseous, nipples ain't sensitive anymore. It's been over 2 weeks now after all these. I'm presently hurting and confused, and will like to know; how do I know whether or not my baby is still here? Can a urine preg test give an accurate result now?🙏🏼

I'm sorry to hear this is happening. It sounds very scary. A urine test can confirm a pregnancy. However, some hormones will last in your system a little bit. Hi Doc! I was pregnant last year with partial Molar Pregnancy. Light bleeding without cramping from 6th week to 8th week when the sac collapsed (had heartbeat and all until then) and went through D&C. HcG dropped back below 5 in 3 months. Now I am pregnant the second time. Experienced gush for bleeding with clot at 6w0d during heavy workout, went for check up - sac and baby are still there with heartbeat. Diagnosed with threatened miscarriage. It’s been 1 week and there is continuously 10 drops of blood through the day. It used to brown but has turned pink/red now. No cramp, no fever, all other signs of miscarriage. How frequently should I be going for OBG checkups ? Should I just stay on bed rest or some household work or office work is fine?

Hello, I’ve missed my period for 5 months but 9 days ago I started stopping light brown then dark red then pink and now is brownish red colour which is still ongoing it’s lighter then my period. When I’m being active I start to feel very tired and weak having to lay down for a bit. In the beginning I did have cramping in my lower back hips and at night down my left leg which has now stopped any idea what this could be?

Hi, I'm 8 weeks 3 days pregnant. When I was 6 weeks 5 days pregnant I started brown discharge so I went to an emergency the next day as my gynaecology suggested. They have done ultrasound, blood and urine tests. The result was non threatening bleeding. The heartbeat was 136 and HCG was 5976. From September 25 to till now everyday I'm seeing spotting twice or thrice a day. Today's spotting color changed from brown to dark red. I'm a little bit worried. Can you please help me what to do?

Thanks for asking! I definitely think you need to take the bleeding seriously and monitor it closely. That amount of bleeding sounds small and may be caused by other things like thin vaginal tissue. I would contact your healthcare provider and let them know what is going on. They may want to perform an ultrasound to determine what is going on. I have a story that I wanted to share and will update on next week. I had my first positive pregnancy test 1/8/23 and first day of last period was 12/10/22. By that math, I’d be 12-13 weeks by now. Last Thursday I bled after sex and it went away in about an hour. I bled again after sex the following Monday and have been spotting ever since. It’s now Saturday. My bleeding goes from light red/pink to brown and is not even enough to get on a pad. Not a single drop of blood on any pads. Only when I wipe. I’ve had 2 hcg blood draws and they went from 24,000 to 20,000. Waiting on 3rd blood draw results this Monday and another sono this Wednesday. Odd twist, my first sono on 3/6/23 dates the fetus at about 6 weeks. So when I go back next week, we see if baby is growing or not. I’m not having cramps and my doctor says my cervix looks normal for pregnancy. Not sure if this is a miscarriage or not…I’ll update soon. But I wanted to share my story in hopes that someone sees this and feels not so alone. ❤ Update: it’s the following day and I miscarried in the early hours of this morning. It was extremely painful and taxing but I’m going to be okay. ❤

I am currently here, as I’m 5-6 weeks and started experiencing spotting 3 1/2 days ago. It started as brown spotting so I went and had blood work done and pelvic exam. Haven’t heard back from my doctor yet, but since my pelvic exam the bleeding has become more red than brown. Not going into my underwear, only when I use the restroom. This is my first pregnancy, and we’ve tried for a while for this little miracle. I guess I’m just looking for anything that could ease my nerves and let me know this could just be normal.

Thanks for asking! It is possible the progesterone could be causing some breakthrough bleeding. It can also be caused by other things. Please contact your healthcare provider and ask for an examination and ultrasound. It's important to check and make sure the placenta is still functioning properly. Additionally, be sure to follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding your progesterone. Taking too much or too little can have significant consequences for your pregnancy. I am 5w 3 dys pregnant..I am spotting from my period date (15th feb) , not active bleeding, just noticeable spotting, i had a miscarriage on September last year, so i am worried now. My dr. Told me not to worry, some women may experience it. Can u tell me if i should worry about it or not. My beta hcg report is also perfectly fine. Spotting is not constant & can be seen only when i wipe and i am not cramping or having pain like miscarriage just like before it happens when i miscarried

Thanks for asking! Your provider is right. Painless spotting can happen very early on for a variety of reasons including having sex, wiping too hard and the vaginal tissue tearing, or implantation bleeding. If you develop pain, fever, or your abdomen becomes hard, that is something that needs to get checked out. I am sending you lots of positive thoughts for a healthy outcome.

I was 12weeks pregnant. I had very light brownish spottings here and there nothing serious. I thought it was ok since everywhere on websites and youtube said it's normal. Then when i went to had my first scan we found out our baby had no heartbeat since week 8 and 6days. To all the pregnant women out there please go to your doctor/ midwife ASAP if you have any kind of spotting. Dont make the same mistake like i did. The Worst feeling is when you find out your baby had passed nearly three weeks in the womb without knowing it and been walking around thinking you still pregnant.

Pls am 7weeks pregnant but I have been bleeding for two weeks but the blood is just spot , and I went to scan but they said is incomplete abortion, but I don't know if the baby can still grow, because I don't want to do D and C.

@TheMaternityMentor Hello, so I was 7 days late for my period. I started to see blood at the end of me urinating yesterday like a couple of drops. Then about two hours after there wasn’t any more bleeding, then after that while urinating I started to see pink/ dark red blood while urinating after I wipe there wasn’t any blood. I then put on a pad and there wasn’t any blood coming out in the pad . Today I see dark red blood while urinating only I have had a pad on all night and there wasn’t anything on it this morning so now I’m kinda confused is to what could be happening, I still feel pregnant have had a ton of gas , light headed feeling like I’m about to faint , tired a lot, flutters in my stomach and eating more than usual, bleeding gums, please help me IJust want some guidance to as if this could be possible an early miscarriage or if it is in fact my period.

I had spotting on Dec 3 then got checked by my OB on 4th. I am 4 weeks pregnant. On 6th, I was rushed to the ER since I was bleeding a lot with blood clots. My OB checked and the gest sac was still there, I was admitted for a day and went home the next day. I am on a total bed rest, no bathroom privilege. I am still bleeding today and symptoms of pregnancy are subsiding. I'm worried, my next checkup is on 14th. Can you please advise?

In your case, you may have a hemorrhoid you don't know about. When you passed gas, the hemorrhoid may have burst open and bled a little. Video keeps suggesting to contact obgyn to find reason for bleeding but doctors really don't seem to be concerned to find out the reason for the bleeding. I had a miscarriage 7 weeks ago am pregnant again (about 4-5weeks) and am having light bleeding but doctor says there is no concern. I figured it would be important since I just had a miscarriage 7 weeks ago.

Thanks for asking! It is important. If you're doctor keeps dismissing you, I would suggest possibly looking for a different doctor. Especially since you just had a miscarriage. In the meantime, you could go to an emergency room to be evaluated. You definitely need to seek care if the bleeding becomes worse or if you develop pain or fever. So I maybe pregnant I feel the symptoms and everything and I kno my period I just start to wipe and see bright red blood and every time I use the bathroom and I wipe I see blood but when I pee or take a number 2 no blood comes out like it would during my period so I’m confused on what I’m supposed to do all this is round the time my period is suppose to start

Thanks for asking! The first thing to do is try and confirm whether you are pregnant or not. Try and take a pregnancy test if you can. If it is positive, the bleeding could simply be implantation bleeding as the pregnancy takes in your body. However, due to the description of the bleeding and that it doesn't match the normal pattern of your period, I would suggest you speak with your healthcare provider so that they can check you and make sure something else isn't going on. They may decide to perform an ultrasound. Good luck!

I got my last period on September 5th and got a positive test October 6th however October 9th I've started bleeding. No clots but blood is there and red. Idk what to do because I'm early early in my pregnancy so is it even a miscarriage or just a period or just random ass bleeding

im 8 weeks pregnant and i have my incomplete abortion last oct. 24,2022. it's just started with a tiny brown spot on oct. 23, 2022 (lunch time) but as the time goes by (1am of 10/24/2022) another spot comes out with a little blood clot. and it continues to bleed until morning that turns out for me to undergo raspa.. My question is that, how did i got my incomplete abortion without any pain or symptoms except the brown spot?

Thanks for asking. I'm not sure how they determined you had an incomplete abortion without an ultrasound. Spotting can be normal during a miscarriage. An incomplete abortion usually requires a procedure called a D&C. These can happen randomly but are more common in women who have had uterine surgery. I am 8 weeks 3 days. I have had a major bleed at 5 weeks 2 days and I have went for 2 ultrasounds since then and the baby/hcg levels were good. 4 days ago my fetal heart rate was 166. I have been feeling Morning sickness since week 6. Yesterday I woke up and the spotting was more like a light bleed and combined with the morning sickness I thought I was having a miscarriage for sure. I took a shot of progesterone, laid in bed all day and drank fluids. The bleeding has slowed down but I am still on edge. I have had 2 open abdominal myomectomies and I’m pregnant through ivf . I will be contacting my doctors office in the morning when they open because I have a lot going on.....but Any thoughts?

Thanks for asking! First, it is completely understandable that you are on edge. With your history, I would be nervous too! Doctors offices are open 24 hours for OB patients. You should call and speak to the provider on call just to make sure they don't want you to head into the hospital for an ultrasound. The bleeding could be a subchorionic hemorrhage that bled a little or slight tear in the placenta that will not affect the pregnancy. However, it could be an imminent miscarriage. It's important to rest and continue to drink fluids. If you develop abdominal pain, fever, or bleeding gets worse, you need to seek medical care. I actually have my home pt it gave me a negative result I went for a blood text too it gave me a negative result last month... I was supposed to see my period on the 2nd of this month it appears yesterday just brown in color not rushing and my midwife keeps telling me am pregnant

I found out i'm preg 6 weeks ago a week after that i had heavy bleeding followed by the blood clots and also all the pregnancy symptoms are gone for example my breast are no longer sore and tender. What could this mean for me?

Hello .. I would ask you that I have a positive pregnancy test, and when I just have 6 weeks I have a bleeding, the color is brownish and texture is different from period bleeding it is similar to the vaginal secretions .. I wouldn’t say that it is heavy nor than spotting .. when it just came on my clothes it was about a circle with 1.5-1.75 cm radius .. I have bleeding mostly once a day since Tuesday (3 days of bleeding until now) could you please help me? 🥺❤️

Hi there, hope you see this..I really need advise..we conceived on 25th of June. 6th July i started to have light spotting (only when i wipe ) light cramping. My period is due on 14th of july.. i assumed it is implamantation bleeding..i just feel so different..but from 6th july to 10th july i am still having slight spotting..out of curiosity, I took a cheap preganncy test and it shows faint line...now i am just worried as everyone says implamantation bleeding lasts 2 days..not sure what to do..my period is due in 4 days but what i am experiencing is def not an early period..do implamantation bleeding last longer? Thanks for your comments! One of my personal friends bled every day for the first 3 months of each of her 3 pregnancies and delivered 3 healthy full-term babies. Her bleeding was very heavy as well. Every woman is different. There are women who continue to have periods while having a healthy pregnancy. The most important thing is to get good prenatal care and follow your providers guidance in regards to your bleeding. I would ask your provider to monitor your blood for anemia. If you become anemic that can cause pregnancy complications. Make sure to continue with your prenatal vitamin. Enjoy those baby kicks! They are the best! Hi, thank you for adding this video. I’m 9 wks and 4 days. I’ve had very mild cramps on and off with small amount of spotting. I had intercourse with my partner last night (something we’ve been actually scared to do during early stages) this morning I woke up to very bright blood when I wiped and as if my period had started. It has stopped considerably since then and not as heavy. Now a brown, stretchy sort of discharge. I have slight twinges in my lower tummy but not enough that I need pain killers and bleeding has never came onto the pad. I’m really worried as my partner and I have tried for a baby for over a year. My midwife told me to monitor it and if clotting or filling pads then call them back. Should I be worried?

Thanks for asking! I always think it's important to be vigilant. Intercourse can cause bleeding during the first trimester because vaginal tissues get thinner due to the hormones that support your pregnancy. However, the cramping is not part of that. The brown is old blood and its probably just mixed with normal vaginal mucous. I would monitor carefully. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids because dehydration can cause cramping and contractions. Keep your midwife updated. Remember - you didn't do anything wrong by having sex. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

@@mounikaabbaraju3605 after that bleed everything calmed down after 12 weeks. I am now 17 weeks and everything is going as it should be. Big relief. I’m sorry to hear your in the same position. It’s definitely important to get yourself checked but I also know that with all the changes to your body bleeding is common. Make sure to speak to your midwife about it though. Hope it all goes well for you!

Plz say how much long ur bleed??

soooo I had my period last week (mon-Friday) kinda longer than usual I usually have light and short periods but I started light spotting (light pink) on Thursday of this week (week after my period) and woke up dizzy (no nausea) thought it could be my anemia, the next day started spotting a normal amount so I took 4 tests (yes I know it’s a lot🤣) they all came back positive and one was a digital test. today I am bleeding a little more than usual like a period type of bleeding but only when I go to the bathroom, I feel fine other than normal things I think would be expected nothing too crazy.. I did have a miscarriage ab 3-4 years ago at ab 6-8 weeks (I’m not sure how far along I was that’s just my estimation comparing to photos) what do you think ab what’s going on now? it’s Saturday but I’m going to go get an ultrasound on Monday but still worries me:/

I have brownish discharge followed by some bleeding and also passed some clots.there is also pain off and on in lower abdomen as well as on the right side of pelvis.some times pain increases other times settled. USG was done but couldn't see anything as bladder was empty

Thanks for asking! If your symptoms continue, I would take another pregnancy test in a few days or ask your healthcare provider for a blood pregnancy test. It is possible you became pregnant but the egg was unable to implant into the uterus. That could explain the symptoms with a negative pregnancy test. @@liamauricio Infection can cause bleeding. If your hormones levels are off, it can cause intermittent spotting as well as missing a period. Thyroid issues can also cause this. Finally, stress is a major cause for our cycle being off.

I was started on progesterone suppository and after starting that I started brown spotting (13 dpo spotting). Before progesterone I was not spotting- is it possible they progesterone caused this?

5 weeks pregnant and woke up to heavy period bleeding and one large blood clot and cramping. The bleeding stopped suddenly but cramping has continued. I spoke to my dr and I'm booked for an ultrasound in a little under a week and waiting until then. My hcg's were excellent during week 4. I have a cervical fibroid and I'm wondering if I'm looking at a miscarriage or if the fibroid is bleeding. I've looked up cramping without bleeding but I'm not finding any relevant information. Either it's bleeding WITH cramping or it's intermittent cramping from the uterus stretching/growing. Why isn't there anything on cramps continuing after bleeding has stopped?

Thanks for asking! I'm not sure why there is no information. but fibroids can be painful and are usually described as a cramping feeling. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids. Dehydration can cause contractions which will also feel like cramping. Good luck!

Thanks for asking. You need to seek care in an emergency room. I am unsure whether the pregnancy is safe but it could be an ectopic pregnancy. An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy that occurs inside the fallopian tube. This is not a viable pregnancy however if left untreated it can kill the mother. You need to be evaluated to determine what is going on. Severe pain is not normal. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

I’m currently pregnant, 5wks2dys, and I’ve been bleeding for almost a week with no cramping or pain. I’ve had 2 ectopic pregnancies but the symptoms were different from now. I went to the er the first day I started bleeding due to my history. They tested my hcg levels at 2850 and did an ultrasound which they found a sac but no sign of baby in the sac, ovaries, or tubes. They told me to follow up with my obg which I did and had the same findings on the ultrasound. They tested my hcg again and told me to wait till Monday 11/14 for the results to see if my levels increased for further instructions. I went to the er last night 11/11 because the bleeding became more intense but still no pain. My hcg levels tripled to 7250, but the ultrasound results still the same. Today I used the bathroom and blood poured into the toilet like a period but still no pain and no clouts. Not sure of what’s going on since the doctors have yet to see any sign of baby nor am I experiencing any pain. Any suggestions as to what maybe happening?

Hi was it good news for you..I'm currently 7 weeks been spotting for two days. Then notice bleeding a lil more I have no cramps.. my ob told me it's to early to come for a sono at 10 weeks..

I'm currently 8 weeks pregnant. I bled with some clots at 6 weeks. I went to the ER and all was fine, the baby had a strong heartbeat. I did have some spotting this week. I also had some cramping one evening and some light spotting the next day. I go for an ultrasound this week, so praying all is ok!

I honestly thought I was pregnant hubby and I have been trying since March and nothing! This time around I had very tender swollen breasts it hurt sooooo bad also sharp pains on my right side and bad cramps also lower back pain (I never had that period symptom ever the back pain one) so I for sure thought I was pregnant also on my period tracker I was expecting period on July 25 and then I got it July 29. Bleeding heavily 29 30 and 31 (still heavy but calmed down a bit) today which is august 1 It’s like brown but I haven’t bled. Im wondering if it’s my period or pregnancy with bleeding. I have nausea too I brush my teeth and feel nauseous which has never happened and then my coffee ☕️ I am on top of my coffee every morning but now I’m not I’m more like ehhh…I get nausea. I just don’t want to take a pregnancy test and come back negative I think it will mess with my emotions

Thanks for asking! It unfortunately could be either. If taking a test is too emotional, I would act like you are pregnant for now. Meaning, take a prenatal vitamin. Don't drink, do drugs or smoke. hello i didn't have period this august then having pregnancy symptom... i haven't done any check ups or PT then today i just carried a heavy items for a couple an hour and started to feel pain on my lower back, lower abdomen, and lower right abdomen ... then when i got home i had a small brownish spotting on my underwear.. then after an hour when i pee i saw a brownish bleeding like coffee grounds and i felt weakness on my foot ... then a couple an hour i feel nausea ... can someone help me ... should i take PT to know if i'm pregnant? or what ?

I started having brown discharge and occasional dark red bleeding pretty much every wipe since 9DPO and am currently about 20DPO. I have also had some light lower abdominal pressure, very occasional mild lower back pain, and constipation. Last two cycles Ive had brown discharge/ spotting about a week leading up to my period. However, last night I got a very strong positive pregnancy test. The timing of my discharge/ bleeding just seems so early… can ectopic symptoms that early, like implantation early? Also, if having bleeding/spotting that early without progression, would I get such a strong positive test today if i was miscarrying? I can’t get into a midwife appt until 1.5 weeks and don’t know if i need to be concerned or if I’m allowed to be excited… first pregnancy. Can this be normal or at least something less detrimental to a pregnancy?

I'm so sorry that you are experiencing bleeding. It must be very stressful. It's important to contact your healthcare provider so that you can be evaluated. Thanks for asking. I am sorry to hear this is happening. I am sure it is stressful. It could be micro tears of the vaginal tissue from sex or even aggressive wiping. It could be a small hemorrhoid and you are mistaking the spotting to be coming from the vagina It could also be a small tear in the placenta. Take it easy and make sure to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Dehydration can cause uterine irritability which may make things worse. Hi @The Maternity Mentor ... I got positive with my pregnancy test when they checked it using my blood sample last thursday however when they did an ultrasound they did not see the embryo yet . they estimated more likely 4 or 5 weeks I guess and recommended to have another ultrasound after 2 weeks to see if the baby will show up . however Saturday night I had spotting at first it was brown and not so heavy. We rushed to ER and I was recommended to have a bedrest for 2 weeks and drink Duphaston and Duvadilan . Sunday morning the bleeding got heavier and i have cramps in abdomen and in my hips and it has clots whenever I pee. Today I found tissues in my pad from my bleeding and so much scared right now. After it happened twice the cramps in my abdomen and hips gone and the bleeding seems lower than yesterday . I dont know if I have to go to the hospital since I am still under bedrest I am so afraid to lose my first baby 😢😢😢

Hello dear, The Same thing is happening to me right now, I got the pain and cramps in lower abdomen and after like 8 hours I got a blood spot, I got scared and in the morning I went to the hospital and they did a scan but they couldn't see the baby in the uterus they told me that the pain was for implementation, but that very night I started bleeding much and heavily plus clots , I'm scared because I don't know whether I'm lossing my baby right now or it's just bleeding, but the pain and cramps were too much even in my thighs and legs. Please let me know if your baby is still with you growing. Please.

I'm about 6 weeks and I've had cramping and dark brown spotting for a couple of days. I still feel all the other symptoms (Nausea, fatigue, sore breasts). Spotting has become pretty common in the days leading up to my period. I have an appointment early next week. Should I be worried it's a miscarriage?

Thanks for asking. You should always let your healthcare provider know what is going on so they can assess you. It's possible it’s just slight vaginal tearing that caused the drops. The vaginal tissue gets very thin during pregnancy and can tear easily. Unfortunately, a miscarriage is also a real possibility. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

Hi, the 1st day of my last menstrual period was Feb 25. I tested positive with a home pregnancy test March 29. I had an ultrasound April 2 and nothing can be seen in my uterus yet, only the corpus luteum in my left ovary. The doctor said it may be too early and advised me to come back for an ultrasound after 2 weeks. She had me take Dydrogesterone for the next 2 weeks. However, the next day, I had brown discharge. Can be seen a little on my panty just spots and only when I wipe. I went back to the doctor today and she had me take a blood test and my level is 1,103. She confirmed I am pregnant but she didn’t say anything about the brown discharge other than that it’s abnormal to have the discharge and that I just have to wait for 2 weeks for my next ultrasound. I am really worried as this is my first pregnancy. My husband and I have been trying for 11 months. I had PCOS by the way but in the recent ultrasound, it showed normal ovaries.

Thanks for asking. I'm sorry to hear this has been happening because it can be very stressful. So it is a little abnormal to have brown discharge at this stage however, bleeding can occur and a normal pregnancy can still ensue. It's important to rest and drink plenty of fluids. The ultrasound may have irritated some of your vaginal tissues causing the discharge. At this point, unfortunately, the next ultrasound will tell a lot of the picture. Hi, same is the case with me. My first pregnancy ended up in a miscarriage (i was 12 weeks pregnant then). After trying for 9 months, I’m pregnant again. Last time I had periods on Feb 21. I’m also spotting since last day. Doctor didn’t say anything except.. it’s something to worry about. The doctor in emergency did my ultrasound which showed that baby isn’t grown as it should be in week 6th. My personal doctor said ultrasound shouldn’t take place up to 8 weeks of pregnancy and advised me to visit again after two weeks. And had me take Dydrogesterone for the next two weeks. I hope everything goes fine. And wish the same for you 🤍

Hi, I think I'm pregnant, have an ultrasound in 2 days despite a very faint line. Have had all the symptoms for a month and constant sore swollen breasts. Now I'm spotting but my cervix is still high and closed. The color ranges from brown red, to pink, or to a light red or brown. Not enough to cover much of a panty liner but i still worry since I have yet to confirm my pregnancy

It's also possible you had a miscarriage. If you wanted to do something now, you could go and take another pregnancy test and see what it says. You can also wait for the ultrasound. 4w 4d pregnant. My hcg level as of last night was 6,600. But I’m bleeding heavy like a period. And for almost 4 days. I got blood drawn twice this week and my levels keep doubling every time. The ultra sound shows no yolk sac which worries me but strange since my levels are rising. The bleeding is dark and tiny clots each time I bleed. I was told it could be a miscarriage, and I was told i could be in the clear for now since the levels continue to peak instead of declining. I feel like the bleeding and no yolk sac outweighs the good news. I’m worried. Next appt is Monday. Which I’ll be 5w and 1d then

Thanks for sharing! Your situation has to be particularly stressful because you have positive and negative symptoms happening at the same time. Heavy bleeding with rising hcg levels can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy, so if you start to have any pain, you need to be examined immediately, possibly in an emergency room. An ectopic pregnancy could also explain why no sac is seen because the sac implanted somewhere else, usually the fallopian tube. Try to rest and take care of yourself this weekend. The best next step in another exam which you already have scheduled. If you start to feel ill, you develop pain or fever, or have any other abnormal symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider immediately or head to the nearest emergency room. I am going through this very same thing. Got my BFP on the 19 and was spotting 2days prior. Being spotting ever since, had 2 blood drawn and 2 ultrasound this week. No yolks sack was shown and they saying it could be a miscarriage, I am scared because I want my baby so bad. Just keeping fingers crossed because I go back in 2weeks for another ultrasound.

I was feeling relieved as the days turned into a new week. And at 10 weeks 1 day I miscarried. It’s hard. But it’s gods plan, not ours. Sending you good energy and stay strong. Take ur prenantals!

Hi i have been watching videos about bleeding and had my check up last week and was told that my ob suspected cornual pregnancy but cannot really tell since it was still too early but it scared me. And now am having brown discharge and light bleeding. I would like to know if it is possible that the doctor may have misdiagnosed since according to her it was still too early to tell. And by the way my last period was sept 19 2021. Tested october but it was negative then i tested positive on november 7. Can anybody tell me if they have experienced the same thing? I dont feel any pain i just feel weak because of what is happening. Please help this is just so depressing. 😢

Thanks for asking! I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you. It's possible that this was a misdiagnosis but your OB did say it was too early. However, these pregnancies are usually not able to come to term because they do not have the space to grow properly. The bleeding could be caused by a miscarriage or other complications due to the position of the baby. You need to call your OB and ask for an ultrasound examination to see what's going on. Thanks so much for asking! Any pain with bleeding should always be checked out to determine the cause. Fibroids can cause pain and irritability during pregnancy. However, they should not cause bleeding. Ask your doctor to examine you again to make sure it is not a problem with the baby. In the meantime, make sure you are resting and drinking plenty of fluids. @thematernitymentor Hello! I am currently 6 weeks pregnant. On Sunday, I started to have light pink spotting. The next day, I went to see my OBGYN and got a transvaginal ultrasound. We saw our baby has a fetal heart rate of 101 bpm. However, that Monday I am still spotting. My OBGYN said that she does not know what is causing the bleeding. She ruled our ectopic pregnancy and subchorionic hemorrhage. She mention that there is a likelihood of a miscarriage. It is currently Wednesday and my bleeding is increasing with clots which is similar to a period bleeding, especially when I use the bathroom to urinate. It still does not soak a pad, but I am really worried. I am having a slight cramps this morning that went away after an hour. No other symptoms so far. Since we have confirmed and saw our baby's heart rate, if I continue to bleed, what are the chances of my pregnancy going full term? I've been trying to be positive and not get too depressed about it, but I am really scared as I feel that I see more negative than positive outcomes with similar situation. :(

Can you have sex while going through this

Hi, thanks for video. I'm currently 5 weeks pregnant and started bleeding 3 days ago. It wasn't enough to fill a liner. It lasted for one day. I went to my doctor and did an ultrasound. Both the technologist and doctor said that there is a sac but they cannot see anything as yet. Will have to redo ultrasound in 2 weeks. Was told that the pregnancy seems viable for now. Just visited the bathroom and saw a brownish discharge. No pain, just very light cramps. Don't know what to think at this point.

I'm sorry to hear this is happening. You need you contact your doctor and let them know what is going on. It could be the start of bleeding again which may mean an imminent miscarriage. Drink plenty of water. Dehydration can cause cramping and contractions, so you want to make sure that is not contributing to anything. Hi. As per my LMP I am 9 weeks 3 days. I am experiencing light pinkish spotting and mild cramps since 2days. I went for a TV scan today and they told me that as what they see my gestational sac is something between 5 weeks 3 days and there is pulse but that was not well picked up. My gestational sac size is 11mm X 16mm X 8mm, gestational sac(mean) is 11.7 mm, gestational sac volume is 0.7 mm and CRL is 3.7 mm. I am still facing the spotting (only when i wipe ) and cramps and I hv a follow-up scan next week. I am terrified of losing my baby. I hv a history of PCOD and HYPERTENSION. Am I going to hv a miscarriage?? Would really appreciate any input. Thanks.

It may also be a subchorionic hemorrhage so tiny it wasn't picked up on ultrasound. I went to the ER and looked at my levels but they never even did an exam and said I was going thru a miscarriage. Levels dropped but idk what to think anymore. I'm so sorry to hear this. Often when a woman early in pregnancy presents to the emergency room, they will test her blood for HcG. HcG is human chorionic gonadotropin. This is the hormone that indicates pregnancy. As your pregnancy progresses the levels increase. If your levels drop, this is an indication that a miscarriage is occurring. Miscarriages occur in 1 out of every 5 pregnancies. They are most often caused by genetic abnormalities. Keep your appointment on the 1st and speak with your healthcare provider. Let them talk with you and order any tests they think might help. In the meantime, take it easy. This was not something you caused and you did nothing wrong. Ahh, my brain is all over the place. Going to get an ultra sound to confirm next month. So on the 14th of this month I tested positive but with a faint line i decided to wait a couple days. Tested again and came out positive with a solid line. But on that day I started light spotting, like a phew drops of light brown. But it lasted for 7 days. On that 7th day thr was light blood that was red and mucus. It looked like it had a small clot. It didn't fill up the pad. The following day it showed the same thing but this time a super dark brown spotting following red blood. Not enough to cover a pad. I haven't been experiencing cramps or anything just super sore breast. Is thr such thing as a silent miscarriage? With no major symptoms? Should I test myself again at the end of this week or it wouldn't make sense to do so incase I did have a miscarriage?

Thanks for asking! Yes it could have been a silent miscarriage. I would test again. I think it will give you some piece of mind and give you an idea of what may be going on. Also, if the ultrasound will cost you a lot of money, it may be better to know in advance whether you are still testing positive. The blood and tissue could be remnants of your last period while being pregnant. Some women will say that the first month they are pregnant they did get a weird, short cycle. It's hard to tell. I'm sorry to hear this is happening. Bleeding is very scary. Sometimes it can be benign and not cause any problems. I am really glad she is getting her blood drawn twice a week. That will let you both know how things are going with the pregnancy. Please take care of yourself as well as her. Try to do things together over the next week that bring you joy. Hello. I just want to ask. I am a PCOS lady and I got my TVS ultrasound last January and found out that my PCOS is gone. My last 1St menstrual period was on March 26 to March 30, and didn't have my menstrual period since then until May 13. I tried different PT in different days like 5 PT all in all. But only 2 PT's have 2 lines but the other one is faint line. And on the 14th of March I noticed some light brown discharged and I just ignored it until on the 15th and 16th I had menstrual bleeding. Could I be possibly pregnant or not? I'm worried. But I didn't go to a doctor yet because I'm still observing myself. 😔

Thanks for asking! Any time you see 2 lines, whether they are faint or not, that is considered a positive pregnancy test. Once you have a positive test, any bleeding or spotting should be reported to your doctor so they can assess you and see what is going on. I just found out a couple of days ago that im 5 weeks or more pregnant. I’m 21 and this is my first pregnancy I’ve ever had to experience. Yesterday I was having bleeding and thought it was heavier then it was. Once I had put a pad on and checked it there really wasn’t much, to me it more so looked like spotting and it was followed by cramps. The bleeding stopped probably after an hour but the cramps continued and still are faintly here today. This being my first pregnancy I was absolutely terrified to see the blood. I called my doctors office and they had told me that what I’m experiencing is probably a miscarriage. I’m unable to get into my doctors for tests until Monday and I’m going crazy googling, calling hospitals, messaging doctors and just about everything to find an answer. I’m my heart I feel like I didn’t loose them😭❤️. I want to hold onto hope because although everyone said I’m having a miscarriage , it’s really not much bleeding. Should I give up and not hold onto hope? I’ve been a complete wreck and don’t understand how I’m supposed to wait until Monday… Should I go to the hospital??😭I’m just so young and so scared. I have NO idea what I’m doing.

Thanks for asking. I am so sorry this is happening. It's very stressful for anyone but especially your first pregnancy. The bleeding may mean you are having a miscarriage. Unfortunately, miscarriages are very common. More common than people realize but I know that doesn't make it easier for you. You can go to a hospital. They will probably perform and ultrasound and a blood test but neither may be definitive. At 5 weeks, sometimes the ultrasound won't show anything. A blood test may show you are pregnant even if you are having a miscarriage because your HcG level is still high. The best thing to do is to rest and drink plenty of fluids for the next day or so. If you develop pain or fever or other symptoms, call your doctor or head to the hospital. In a day, repeat an at home pregnancy test and see what it says. In the meantime, make sure you are taking a prenatal vitamin. I am sending you love and light and healing thoughts.

I’m 6 weeks pregnant and I had bleeding at 4 weeks and now at 6 weeks I have spotting but If I wipe theirs it’s light bleeding and also have light bleeding with small clots when using the restroom I’m panicking and scared as it’s my first baby ❤️

I'm so sorry this is happening because bleeding can be very scary. Bleeding can be caused by lots of different things and not all of them mean the pregnancy is coming to an end. Sex, for example, is a common cause. I would reach out to your provider and let them know what is going on. In the meantime, keep yourself well hydrated and try to rest. This may help. Good luck!

Hello Im 9 weeks pregnant and today I started spotting. My pregnancy been good I did an ultrasound two weeks ago and everything seems good. I just had a baby a year ago and I didn’t experience any bleeding with him. However I did have many miscarriages before my one year old. Also I have a really bad yeast infection that I been having since I got pregnant

I'm sorry to hear this is happening. It sounds very scary. Your yeast infection needs to be treated as it can cause preterm labor and miscarriage. You need to contact your healthcare provider and let them know what is going on because they may want to assess you and perform an ultrasound to determine the cause. Thanks for asking. If you have started spotting and your pregnancy test is negative, it sounds like you might be having a miscarriage. I’m about 6 weeks pregnant right now, and since last Sunday I’ve been experiencing some bleeding. It’s mostly only when I go to the toilet and wipe with paper. But also some leeks into my underwear. It’s really starting to get me worried 🥺.

Hi. I don't know if I should be worried that I'm having an early period or not. It's like 10 days before my supposed to be period according to my tracking period app and it's the first time that ever happened to me. It started yesterday afternoon when I woke up after having intercourse in the morning so I thought it's just normal and will stop soon. I'm thinking it's maybe because of the weather here in the US and I'm from the Philippines, so I'm not used to it. Is this normal? But before this happened, I'm always tired, having headaches and dizziness that I thought I'm having a low blood pressure. A month ago, I had a very heavy and tender breast and days before my period I'm having brownish spotting that lasts for 3 days and I still got my period but not really a heavy period, so I thought maybe I'm just hallucinating. 😅 I'm sorry, I'm really confused now. What do you think? Do you think everything is normal? I hope you can answer me. Thank you.

I’m 11-12 DPO and my bleeding started as light pink and I thought it was implantation bleeding. It’s gotten slightly heavier and more red like a period but it’s still way way way lighter than my usual period, and it’s a few days too early. I can’t tell if it’s just an odd period for once or what. I’m nervous to take a test though.

@@TheMaternityMentor it’s turned into actual bleeding so it’s probably my period and just whacky hormones. I’ve heard it could be decidual bleeding though. I’ll test in the morning just to make sure 100%.

@@TheMaternityMentor update(?) I took two tests this morning. One digital, one that just does the lines. Digital came out negative, the lined one showed a really strong negative line and then an extremely faint line showed on the positive side. I’m gonna probably test again, I’m so confused
