With most lighting effects and fast moving colors in anime in general will have that dim-blur effect applied to the tv versions to comply with tv censorship standards to avoid the pokemon seizure incident

I agree for the most part. I felt the changes were generally within my expectations though. Basically, get this if you want to support Bleach and would like the bonuses. Oh and by the way, if you're going to do another video on the booklet, please use the correct translations by a fan named reikorun on the bleach subreddit (actual Japanese person) who worked hard to translate the whole thing including Kubo's storyboard notes or fan named Artuero-plateado who did a summary. Avoid the translation by scheneizel as they are filled with misinformation because they're google translated from an Arabic twitter user (without credit) who was also Google translating. Unfortunately, I've already seen two other KZreadrs who made videos on scheneizel translation and most of it just isn't true 😂

I appreciate the animated noise on the Blu-Ray version, there are some dark scenes where the image breaks like hell.

Its nice to see a side by side comparison of both blue ray and tv versions of bleach and see the differences no matter how small they are thank you Jaymes for doing what you do. I hope others respect you deserve for these reviews and other videos you do on bleach. I know I respect what you do.

Yes I do agree they HAVE to decrease the saturation of the effects like look at 22:14, literally too much color saturation going on, my eyes hurt not only that but there's also the flashy white effects thing going on too makes it even more painful.

There was definitely several things they could’ve touched up on for the blu-ray. Toshiro vs Cang Du, touch-ups on Soifon using Shunko, Shinji’s Bankai, Bambietta’s Zofiel, Gremmy’s fight, and I swear, Oetsu’s clothes just can’t catch a break, can they. And thank god they fixed the lighting issue. I agree that was pretty annoying, tho I am kinda annoyed that Candace’s face from when Ichigo gave her the elbow wasn’t changed. That expression was irritating for some reason. It really does suck that the studio was having inside problems, because we can definitely see that it had a clear impact on how the cour was released. Hopefully tho, things should stay touched up from now on. I really did enjoy these last two cours, even with the problems we could see. I’m ready to see the upcoming new content. I can only imagine how it’ll be handled while the studio is at its best.

Have you thought of reviewing the new bleach musical that was just released in Japan? Probably not your thing but it is odd it was released so many years after the last run. Also adapting a popular arch with new characters is pretty cool. Was hoping someone was going to talk about it.

Are there any differences between the japanese Blu Ray of cour 1 and the VIZ version? Are they exactly the same? If so how? The price difference is huge.

The only possibility for that scene to be added in is either we get a different version of it being added in cour 3 while they are still in the rocket, or through a Zukan (The shinigami illustrated picture book) like we saw during the end of episode 26 with Kon (ofcourse animated).

I never buy blurays or dvds ( unless it s an old series I cant watch in g quality without hussle or vpn optherwise ) cuz to me it s all about digital, if I had the means to buy entire seasons in hd in digital, I would every fkin time. I wanna support, but not like this. that being said, i fully support the existence of bds and dvds. they are a good source of income, I am simply not the target.

Rarely do we get to see a fight happen without it cutting over to the next frame, I remember some stuff in old bleach (or other older animes) where you had choreography being played out in just 1 cut or a camera following the choreography. What I mean by this extended scene are stuff like the mini fight with Meninas using her dumbell against ichigo or byakuya vs as nodt in cour 1 or Tenjiro vs Jugram (jump attack). I hope cour 3 gets better on this and they take more time on it (around a year atleast), especially when atsushi wakabayashi was barely involved in cour 2.

Bleach is finally back after over a decade and yet people out here complaining. Just be happy we got what we have so far. Its not gonna be perfect so to have those expectations is just setting yourself up for disappointment

I would have liked to have seen Bambietta's Sklave Rai-enhanced Vollstandig, both in her fight with Sajin, and in her zombie state. We got to see the others in the Bambi group use theirs, but not Bambi herself. I agree that was a missed opportunity. All in all, I appreciate even the smallest changes/fixes that they do. Could it have been better? Of course. But it's still good, in my opinion. I'm looking forward to what they have in store for us in cour 3.

There are so many changes and nice details in the BD that it's insane. Blu-ray shouldn't really exist to change or improve anything. Be glad that we'vd gotten a more polished version, with better lighting, more details, consistency, better textures, composition changes and even redraws. All of that is absolutely amazing. We didn't get much more in season 1, except Yhwach moustache consistency problem, which was probably excluded from tv broadcast because it would've spoiled the Zangetsu reveal. Besides that, there were only minute changes, for lighting, shadows, color changes and clothes consistencies. Also, arms for Nimaiya that looked pretty bad were changed. In the season 2 there were no such problems, at least regarding Nimaiya Oetsu.

Some people in this fandom are in denial. Yes there’s loads to like and appreciate about the TYBW anime so far but it’s not nearly as good as it deserves to be. I’ve even seen people saying the pacing isn’t too fast or that the studio weren’t rushed and had enough time. Most likely whoever made the decision didn’t think it was worth it to add some really great additions like it wouldn’t have justified the cost and/or they just don’t have time because their schedule sucks. The fact that we haven’t gotten a single dime about cour 3 yet is honestly hopeful for me. It could be a bad sign that they’re running around headless not knowing what to do but it could mean they’re taking more time to do it right. Weirdly everything with bleach is delayed currently. Soul resonance also no news for ages. Big drought we are experiencing now. Just like old times. Oh and never trust the Japanese again. Wtf was that one guy even talking about with added scenes and stuff. They have a scoring rate of 0 when it comes to being right about things. Lastly whoever is choosing the effects and colors (taguchi I assume) is tweaking. Lille’s vollstandig is going to look like vomit if it remains green. It should be gold or white.

"Hey why is Kudo not animating anythingt, where is Kanno, why you let him go? Hey why you suffocated freelancer animators from doing their job and we have so many stiff sequences. Hire that guy, or this guy, or do something here. Fire Murata, he's ability to make something good is literally none." I mean, why Kubo itself only mentioned the episode 6 from cour 1 as a outstanding example of good animation? I think everyone sees they are not able to create anything good with what they have, also the staff menagement and the whole production issues strangle the animation quality itself.

The Blu-ray is shit and half-assed just like the TV cour 2 was, if anything Pierrot is consistant, Renji's episode was shit and almost ruined the character's one chance to shine.

Animation quality has been pretty stiff and subpar. When you compare it to Demon Slayer or JJK animation the cracks are very visible. Thankfully Studio Pierrot films is taking over the future cours as they just announced.

This has just been the biggest disappointment of an adaptation. I hope cours 3 & 4 actually improve and Pierrot doesn’t keep running their mouth with their company talk and actually compete with other seasonal shows animation. Kubo’s story additions can only go so far. The mans back is probably about to break for how hard he is carrying. This is a “BATTLE SHOUNEN ANIME.” Pierrot needs to treat it as such. Bleach & Kubo deserve better. Cour 1 had 2 well adapted fights and cour 2 was just a disaster. Please. I beg Pierrot to make cours 3 & 4 much better.

People are really comparing Jujutsu Kaisen with Bleach in 2024? Jujutsu Kaisen is new series with big fanbase of young active people, plus huge Mappa fanbase, there are just alot more money comparing to Bleach. Comparing to other shows Bleach is peak so disappointment about Bleach's animation isn't on a level of Jujutsu Kaisen or Solo Leveling is kinda dumb. Pierrot isn't the top tier studio

Money ain't an issue for Pierrot bleach tybw budget per episode is $160000. It's about talent and time. Pierrot is capable of making anime with hq animation they didn't give the staff enough time for cour 2 that's why it suffered in animation.

@@dencheq episode 2 is above average one of the best looking episodes of cour 1. episodes 3 and 4 were the only episodes that looked poorly done in cour 1 and no they had more time for cour 1 than cour 2. cour 2 came out less than 7 months after cour 1 ended that's not enough time to make a hq product. cour 1 had about 10 months after the first pv trailer.

Ofcourse 1st cour had more time, it was made from scratch, in 2nd cour they had production already going. Cour 1 ep2 has only good still shots of captains and 10 seconds of fight other from that no, it's mid episode. 2,3,4 eps of cour 2 are way better.

Not a single cut of episode 2,3, & 4 of cour 2(except the cut of Bambi getting hit by dangai joeis blade but that's a small plus for cour 2) comes close to the arrancar girls and tres bestias Vs Quincy's. Especially the cuts done by kanno and episode 2 of cour 1 has one of the best art of that cour and not all cuts are still shots. it's even storyboarded by series director tomohisa Taguchi and every episode storyboarded by him is the best looking episodes of tybw. Also the cut of ayon beating up quilge and ichigo attacking quilge with a getsuga tensho in episode 3 and the cuts of ichigos Vs quilge in episode 4 done by Yuki Sato is also better than most cuts of episode 2,3, and 4 of cour 2

😂Jjk blu ray gets more added scenes, even better animation and choreography and Bleach's blu ray gets shit lol they really need to make this next season better or Bleach is done for.

No sane person should expect that much changes as JJK from Pierrot, but to not get any animation changes when you have such an underwhelming element in that part of your work is truly bizzare. Yeah Shinji's BK is the best example, you could do some good thing with it, like Shinji slowly walking trough the slashing Soldiers, complaining they should kill themselves more carefully to not stain his clothes, or goofying around trying to hight five one of them only for the enemy to be slashed, just bring some life into the characters. You know... anything, anything could be done to improve that scene, and they done nothing. I rewatched the whole thing and was just searching for the comparison videos, barely noticing any changes, seems like they focused on the VFX department, which is good because some of it is just a shiny mess, but if it's really that big of an improvement worthy of giving them cash for? Im willing to pay for a good product, but this...

What I didn't like was they didn't even bother adding more to soi Fons punch like one decently animated punch and seeing the character receive the punch would've made that scene significantly better. many scenes with punches physical strikes lacked weight and impact and felt stiff and there are other small things I didn't like for example how the characters looked when they got sent flying to buildings. How the characters looked slow when they travel in the air. The OG anime did aerial scenes better imo.
