Blaze JT - A Jeep Gladiator Lifted on 40s | Built2Wander

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this episode of Built2Wander, we take you through the recent Built2Wander Gladiator build, the Blaze JT. Built by 3D-Offroad, this custom JT maximizes every ounce of potential and capability that can be found in the sport edition of the 2020 Jeep Gladiator. We put this lifted Jeep Gladiator on 40s through its paces on off road trails in Colorado’s high country and discuss all of the components that were critical in bringing this build to life.
Subscribe and like for more: kzread.info?s...
We interview Matt Thompson, owner of 3D-Offroad, to learn about the inspiration behind his custom Jeep Gladiator build. Matt explains how he built this Gladiator around the 40” Nitto Tire Trail Grappler, and elaborates on the modifications needed to successfully run a 40” tall tire and the benefits of doing so. We cover wheels & tires, suspension, drivetrain, navigation, and the many other accessories we chose to incorporate into the build. We show first-hand where the differences lie on the trail and tackle some of Colorado’s toughest terrain. Be it rock crawling or overlanding, this Jeep Gladiator can do it all.
We also show that with the right upgrades, even a stock sport gladiator is capable of becoming a total beast off-road. We also hint at our future plans for this Jeep Gladiator and the changes we’d like to make to take it to the next level. Tune in to our latest adventure if you’re looking for some inspiration for your next Gladiator build and see first-hand just how well the new Jeep Truck Platform performs off road!

I was a little worried about running 40's on the 44's. I don't do rocks so I feel a lot better now. Thanks for the great video!

Can I run 40s on a gladiator without Dana 60s ? I basically did a re-gearing, rcv axle shafts, Reid racing knuckles, spicer ball joints, rpm heavy drag link & tie rod, artec axle reinforcement, arb air lockers, arb diff covers. All this is is on the 44s

My daily driver is a JT Rubicon on 40's stock axle and factory 4:10 gears and this thing has taken some abuse and held up. I love the Gladiator so much I bought a second one. before anyone ask, yes the 4:10 gears run great with the rubicon 4:1 transfer case so plenty of low range for obstacles. On highway the 8 speed auto is amazing and always finds the powerband, vehicle feels sluggish on stock tires but for some reason came to life once I put 40's on, maybe the computer sensed my heavy foot and adapted the throttle response because its feeling much better . Why have i chosen to keep 4:10 gears, because they work great surprisingly especially with the transfer case on rubicon and also less likely to fail since the 4:10 ring and pinion have more surface area than say a 4:8 8 or 5:13

I think 37” are what they should have come with, with 4:88 gears. The 40’s to me look great especially with a good wheel combo. Because to me it take 40’s to make the thing look like it has a big tire on it.

damn man i really want to see how the 44's on 40's hold up,cause right now im on 35's with kings but the truck is only leveled cause(ill admit it i cant afford the whole lift kit)i love that low truck big tire look and my front axle is trussed since i am pretty harsh with my truck and i do jump it a bit (the truck only does go like 4ft in the air so it "shouldn't hurt the truck") but man i love my setup man the jks spacers do freaking wonders man its a hydraulic bumpstop and a spacer so thats how i lifted the truck, List of parts on my truck (2020 Sting Gray JTR) 7 slot customs front bumper with baja designs amber fogs with a warn 12k winch Jks coil spacer pro with king shocks all around aev beadlock wheels wrapped in mickey thompson mt tires weld on lca skids, all around and lastly(i think) the artec industries aluminum skid cause my truck is my baby even if i still jump my truck a bit i still wanna protect it and thats my whole setup :D edit- 3-2-22 traded in the gasser for a ecodiesel, started over but kept almost all the mods, like the bumper winch, lights, wheels and shocks, returned the truck to stock and what can i say it was sort of worth it,beated the piss out of that thing and now i know what im gonna do with my new ecodiesel, sold some of my parts noted above for a small downpayment but its all worth it to me :D

Most of the time, carnage is going to happen when your on the throttle while bouncing or otherwise shock-loading the drivetrain. If you can modulate the skinny pedal correctly you shouldn’t have too many issues. Of course bigger axles/chromoly gives you the freedom to “send it” with less concern of breakage.

I find it crazy how people buy a brand new $50K truck, rip out everything it came with like the wheels, axles, and suspension and replace it all with another $25K worth of the same shit. It's completely pointless to spend the money on a new vehicle if you're going to get rid of half of it.. The only things that actually matter on trucks used for off-road are the size of the wheels, axles, and suspension. The rest is just amenities and cosmetics. If you're going to upgrade those components then buy a used truck because none of the other shit matters.
