Blasphemy interview - veterans of war metal & powerlifting skinheads

Blasphemy is probably the most extreme cult act ever to come from Canada. Not only a powerful combination of early death and black metal, but also one of the creators of war metal and big powerlifting guys, Blasphemy surely made their mark already in the 1980s. This interview was conducted at Steelfest 2024 in Finland, May 2024.

In fact, this is the second ever filmed published interview, done in person with the guys, not via Skype or something I mean, in Europe, after that old one, done in March of 1993, while on tour with Gorguts : I'm taking about that cult short one found on the "666 on calling death" documentary.

@@ancestralspirits521 The "traveling, drugs, etc etc thing is a possibility but honestly I don't think that's it.. I seriously think it's that Black winds just doesn't give a F. He does exactly what he wants, when he wants.. He's intelligent and street smart, and still a huge guy. He doesn't have to cave to anyone, ever. And he knows it.. 😎 As far as the "leaning back, looking up" thing goes, there is a story to that, and a reason he does it (I've been told) but I'm not privy to that kind of information.. But, It's intentional and purposeful. 😎

I always thought of blasphemy of being like a black metal cro mags, just because of their size etc, both bands were influential to me in different ways. I remember seeing a picture of them and thinking that, I wasn't into the Norwegian aesthetic or lifestyle but loved the music.

Absolutely phenomenal band. They really influenced the underground war and black metal scene here in LA! Amazing that black winds mentioned Infaustes from South America! I been speaking and befriended the lead vocalist and bassist of the band and saw her evolution of starting Infaustes to where they are now. Saw the post of Black Wind, wearing their shirt too! Super proud of them reaching these heights!

Been a big fan of Blasphemy for a long time. Never have seen the band live and likely never will, as they can't get into the U.S. apparently. Maybe I will be able to afford to travel elsewhere and catch a show at the same time, but that isn't likely at this time. One more studio album from Blasphemy would be cool, but I imagine it is a daunting thing from the band's perspective since Fallen Angel, Gods of War, and the Blood Upon the Altar demo have been this body of work for decades now. A new album would most likely get the "yeah, I guess it's okay, but the demo is where it's at" response. To be fair, the Blood Upon the Altar demo is one of the best metal demos of all-time, in my opinion. I would also like to see Caller of the Storms interviewed by himself. I am curious if he still has that Ibanez from the Fallen Angel days.

Damn, you're unlucky with them then I guess, since we have had Blasphemy in Fiinland past 15 years like 3 times. Regardng Caller interview, I don't know if it would happen since bands pretty much decide themselves how they want to do it.
