Blake Griffin: Microwaves are TERRIBLE for you

Ойын-сауық

NBA star Blake Griffin talks of his interests in health and wellness, which likely stems from his mother… whom Blake says is as close to a nutritionist as you can get without official certification. The six-time NBA All-Star talks of his research into biohacking and its potential to slow the aging process, gaining a stronger understanding of food sensitivity and why he avoids microwaving food at all costs.

All a microwave does is make the water molecules in food vibrate. When those molecules vibrate it creates friction, friction creates heat!

I agree microwaves can ruin food though it fully depends on what the food is. If it’s food that is prepared and sold to be cooked in the microwave, then that stuff is usually good. Reheating food in the microwave is a different story.

It also depends on the kind of microwave. My microwave is an LG model with a touchscreen and a lot of different settings. It disposes of water and even temperature settings based on which compartment you put stuff in. One of the best parts of it, compared to normal dangerous microwaves, is that it has special settings to allow me to cool food instead of heat it up!

Microwaves aren’t necessarily bad, but if you’re popping something in the microwave, it most likely isn’t something that’s healthy to begin with (ex: microwave ready food, pizza, etc). New microwaves have a plate of metal that protects food from the actual microwaves. All microwaves do is heat up the water molecules, they don’t change the chemical composition more than a oven or grill does

if you can avoid microwaving it's good to eat your food fresh or even out the fridge. you wanna use the pan or oven. certain stuff just doesnt taste good cold like meat but other stuff you should try to have without warming them up in the micro since overall that destroys some the nutrients or makes the food radioactive almost. this has been discussed for decades. you don't want the inside of food to pop. destroys enzymes, etc.
