Yes because Serena is likable. She’s obviously smart enough if she got accepted to Yale. It’s not unreasonable for Serena to get in, she’s a billionaire and money can buy education. Serena always had access to top notch education. If blair didn’t get in it’s because she self sabotaged. With the way she started off senior year bossing around the new teacher, it’s no wonder she didn’t get in. Blair is a bitch Serena is nice. Blair said in the real world knowledge is power but that’s all she had. Serena had knowledge but what made her stand out were the things that made her the “it girl” she’s respectful, she doesn’t blackmail teachers or deans to get into a school and she’s just a better person than blair.

When I feel unmotivated I watch Blair study. And when I feel stupid, I watch Serena buying her way into writing an entrance test, ruining Blair's dream, not going to Yale anyways because "it's not her" then pay her way to Brown and still not go because "she feels it's not where she belongs". I urge you to do the same!

Blair was literally accepted into Yale when Serena turned it down. Serena only went to Yale because Blair called her stupid. Blair sabotaged her own chances once she was accepted.

Tbh I think that not getting into an Ivy taught Blair a lot of valuable lessons about the realities of adult life, as much as she worked hard for the opportunity and based on merit did deserve to go. Also, having the privilege that she did, not going to a top school wasn't going to hurt her chances in life as much as someone else from a poorer background who desperately needed the place.

Yeah I agree, Serena didn’t ruin her chances-Blair deserved to get in and she didnt, but then Blair did get in, and then she ruined it because she couldn’t stop herself from being a brat to a teacher. (Not that the teacher was in any way a good person but it was totally avoidable). She tried to make the best of NYU but didn’t really like it there and then she transferred to Columbia which was more her scene (and then GG basically forgot she went to college for the rest of the show so it didn’t matter lol). Which is how life works out a lot of the time, you don’t get what you want immediately. What I think is stupid is the idea that Blair, a fantastic student who’s also in a lot of ways more practical and cynical and tries way harder than Serena (often to her detriment) would only apply to Yale and nowhere else. She would have had safety schools. (Also I think Serena did not use the purchased SAT score. I don’t even like her very much but she definitely wasn’t okay with it when she found out)

Thank you for making this!! I always thought Blair was such an inspiration!

I always admired Blair...and was so sad when she didn't get to Yale. Fun fact, the same happened to me and I felt so devastated...I almost k*lled myself because it felt like all my hard work was worthless Now I'm much better in a college I like...it's not the end of the world and if you go through this I hope you know there is light at the end of the tunnel

The most shocking part of this was university like Harvard and Yale accepting people like Serena. She is kot a student the want to represent their school. Their model student is Blair even if she didn't had background can stand on her own. She could be one of their success stories. While Serena would have been a trophy wife to some businessman of politician. She has socialite type personality while Blairs mother raised her to be a business woman. She even told her off about how wardoof women r not socialites like Jackie Kennedy. They work hard and earn their money.
