In hindsight that wasnt so good for Luke Cage, look how he's being treated ever since he went bald and started dressing in normal street clothes, he's just "some geto black guy" to modern writers, lowballed is not enough to describe it. Back in the days when Luke was wearing the yellow or black, he was whooping everybody despite he's supposed to be weaker to his modern version. And look how much respect Panther, Blue Marvel and Blade get treated. Gimmicky clothes are very important and this version of Blade wasnt "street looking", he was still wearing a gimmicky super uniform.

Feige, Couglar and a few of the comic writers already said, out if their own mouths in an interview, done during after Black Panther (the first one) was released that Blade kicked things off, and they owed Dr. Snipes a huge debt of gratitude, for his vision. He originally wanted to do Black Panther, Marvel said no and gave him Blade. I know some fan boys out there just refuse to accept this, but they have literally said it. Can’t refute what the creators said, no matter how much you want it to not be true. The MCU is the house that Blade built. Go search it up.

It is impossible to imagine anyone else doing the role with the same sublime mixture of suave and coolness without coming off as a total try-hard. Same! I read comics as a kid but I would get them randomly I didn’t know about comic book stores nor did my parents ever take me unfortunately. So I really only knew about Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Wolverine and the x-men.. and that’s pretty much it. I was in the 4th grade when this came to dvd and vhs and computers had just started being able to play DVDs. My family didn’t let me get or watch rated R movies but i snuck it in with other stuff during check out while visiting Bestbuy with my grandmother and she didn’t pay attention close enough. I knew nothing of the character but she let me buy a couple dvds to watch on her new computer. I watched that movie and was mesmerized! I would watch it all the time. One time she walked in while I was watching it during a violent scene and she freaked out, “what is this? Where did you get that!?” I said “you bought it for me, granny!” She of course said “I would never buy you something like this.” She took it out of the computer and broke the disc and threw it away… I fortunately found the same DVD with the same OG retro dvd case in a bargain bin at Walmart a couple years ago and it’s like it never left lol anyone else miss the Miramax music before epic films!?

@@michaelgiaquinto3092 While the overall storyline had its merits, there were some notable issues at least for me. One key factor contributing to this lukewarm response was the excessive number of characters sharing screen time, which detracted from the central focus on Blade and his mentor. With the introduction of Jessica Biel, Ryan Reynolds in the ensemble and a entire team, the spotlight was spread thin, leaving Blade and Kris with insufficient on-screen presence. This led to a noteworthy situation where Wesley and Kris, who had developed a genuine friendship during production, publicly expressed their dissatisfaction with the film's direction due to the lack of attention their characters received. Wesley, in particular, voiced his concern about the disproportionate screen time given to Ryan Reynolds, ultimately sparking a feud between the actors. Their dispute became so contentious that they refused to communicate directly and instead resorted to passing messages through the director. It wasn't until a disagreement arose between Blade and the director that all communication ceased. Wesley boldly asserted his self-sufficiency, and the director reciprocated the sentiment, resulting in a complete cessation of communication between the two. This is the reason Ryan Reynolds doesn't want to do a Blade 4 and from I have seen of Ryan he gets on with everybody. Apart from Blade and his mentor not having enough screen time another issue I had a problem with was Kris's character's decision to keep his daughter a secret from Blade, which seemed stupid given their father-son-like bond. Especially considering that the daughter was actively raised in the same life Blade led, with occasional assistance from Kris, it raised questions about the rationale behind concealing her existence from Blade. It is one thing to keep her a secret if she was living a normal life (although I don't agree with that because Blade should be told) but it is another to raise in the life and not tell Blade.

@@michaelgiaquinto3092 It and the Matrix are the greatest trilogies ever. I think a lot of people give the final movie in a series more criticism than it truly deserves because there's never going to be an ending that satisfies everyone. When I first watched The Matrix Revolutions, I was disappointed by the ending. Over the years I've grown to realize that the ending made sense and was way better than I gave it credit for. Ending a movie franchise is hard.
