We've reached a point where this isn't embarrassing but expected

You can expect a more nuanced view of good vs. evil. A blade who's flawed rather than righteous, weak vs. strong. The vampires will be misunderstood and marginalized who are bullied by the Blade character. Basically, they're having trouble getting directors to shoe-horn a chic in it and make it lame and gay.

Unlike the eponymous character, this movie will never see the light of day.

Jesus Christ, just cancel this movie already. Ali needs to leave, the money cannot be so good that it's worth tethering your career to this anchor of a studio.

They need that “Message” in the movie and the director is like nahh

If I was going to be generous, I’d say Disney was just hoping to incorporate woman into the fandom to expand their audience. But all they’re doing is pushing away the fans they did have and they are not gaining new fans. But we all know the definition of insanity.

Mahershala Ali is truly a great actor. Marvel could build a new Blade trilogy around him. They could even put in some up and coming actors for "representation" and as long as the plot is great and Blade is well done with respect, no one would bat an eye....why is Marvel so incompetent and stupid now?

I'm gonna take a guess that the director got to the set, noticed how incompetent his on set crew was on the technical side of things, and considered it a better mark on his record to quit the project, than try to release it. It's not that they won't make the movies we want, it's that they can't make them at all. This is what an entire generation of the 1 percent taking over the entertainment industry, because mommy and daddy couldn't get them to stop playing pretend.

They should scrap the project. The Solo movie was awful too. No amount of reshoots could fix that mess. Now History is repeating six years later.

If Blade starred a gay women Disney would've made and released it 3 years ago, be dropping the sequel by now

It’s just like a post I read on Facebook from a page I follow and I quote “It's ridiculous how Marvel Studios could give us garbages like Eternals, Thor: Love and Thunder, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, but they can’t manage to actually find a way to get everything (and everyone) ready to reboot the Blade movie “the vampire hunter that saved the superhero genre” and it also read that they should bring Jordan Peele as director but he was recently on a reunion with Marvel to direct the upcoming X-Men movie that’s coming after Secret wars but it didn’t work out but Peele left on good terms and maybe he’ll work to direct another project in the MCU in the future…

At this point, this movie is becoming a problem. Six script writers have come and the fact that the director exited, makes me wonder if there are issues behind the scenes that are making the directors decide to leave. And if the Mahershala Ali wants to leave, it would probably be in his best interests.

I can tell this is going to be drivel. It's going to be Blade film without Blade, it's going to be an origins story about his budgie that fell in love with a cat that identifies as a parrot

How many times are they going to try this girl boss formula before they realize it fails 99% of the time? I guess it's that 1% that keeps them trying, but it hardly seems worth it.

I was looking forward to this movie when it was announced but now I am so disappointed by the news coming out about the production, such a shame and waste of a great actor!

As soon as a director realizes how much the studio is going to dictate/interfere in the production...that director is in the wind.

It's Hot woke garbage. They can see it in the script and no one wants to go through with it. One Look at Preproduction staff tells it all. I dont need to read the script to know it's bad. Follow the writers, see what they're saying and you'll understand these people are as smart and creative as elementary schoolers.

I know two of the writers that were listed were good. Nic Pizzalatto, who worked with Ali on the third season of True Detective and Beau DeMayo, show runner on one of the few great Marvel projects of the last couple of years, X-Men 97. This highlights how inept the current bureaucracy at Marvel is.

That's why people keep on quitting because I still haven't started shooting the movie yet and I'm sure Disney is trying to renegotiate people's contracts along the way so they can do their cut cost measure program

It's all going completely according to plan, unfortunately no one is quite sure what the plan is...

They need a lesbian director. It has to be gay and fema'ammalian at the same time to finish it.

What makes me laugh is that we have been screaming out how much we want a "bad ass black dude killing vampires" for years, but you know they will call us all "rac1st" as soon as it inevitably flops.(if this ever actually gets released.

It’s been five years since they announced this movie. In that time they have gone through multiple directors and multiple script rewrites. I remember at one point they were going to make him a background character in his own movie and focus on his daughter, one script only maybe one or two action scenes so it’s no wonder this movie is a dumpster fire. Just bring back Del toro to do the movie

I heard that the main reason is because Blade is supposed to set up a Midnight Sons project. So here's a bit of advice Marvel; "how about you focus on the character and his lore instead of setting up the 100th movie you're probably gonna cancel anyway like how you cancelled the Kang Dynasty?!"

My guess is the director realised the true scale of the mess it was in and thought Nope, this train wreck will do my career no good, so I'm out of here.
