Blackstone Griddle not getting hot? Heres how to reset it

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

in this video i show how to reset the regulator on a Blackstone 36'' griddle when the saftey feature prevents it from heating up. this is commonly from leaving the gas bottle on when the griddle or most any newer grill or cooker is not in use.

You don’t have to disconnect the tank or even wait 15 min. All you have to do is turn the tank off and then turn on one of your burners for a couple of seconds to release any pressure that may be in the line. Then just make sure all your burners are set to off before you turn the tank on. Open the tank valve slowly and you’ll be good to go. The problem is, if you open the tank with any of your grill valves in the on position, it causes the check valve in the regulator to come on which reduces flow from your tank. This can also happen when you open your tank too quickly. It’s very common problem especially with a new or full tanks. Try it and let me know if it works for you.

All you have to do is close the controls knobs and unscrew the regulator to release the pressure and retighten no need to wait 15 minutes. This is typical for all modern gas stoves and is caused by the control knobs being open(ed) before opening the regulator.

Found this comment on META. Anyway to increase the BTUs on the Walmart Griddle by Blackstone? the Walmart model only heats up to 48,000 BTUs while the model at all other stores heats up to 60,000 BTUs. Again, I'm happy with my Walmart model, but wanted to share this FYI for those wondering like I did why the Blackstone at Walmart was $100 less. It's still a good griddle, but the burners are apparently a less powerful model made exclusively for Walmart.

that rust-looking color you see when using oil is not rusting if you watch some of the brand promotors for Blackstone they tell you what you are seeing is not rust. I use flax seed oil to season my griddle. I had my Blackstone griddle for a year. live in Michigan no rust. just one spot on the side of the griddle fixed with a mix of vinegar water. because of how well seasoned it is after every cook I now go over with oil one time really. I know my flat top is seasoned will because i have cooked stuff that sticks easily on pans I used and not one problem with those items sticking.

If you pour a cup of hot water on the regulator, you dont have to do all that to reset the regulator.

Its a good thing that people bring lawsuit against companies, companies do not have your best interest in mind. The reason why countries have a middle class is because of laws and the court system. Good video, but acting like protecting someone who is new at doing something is somehow holding society back and making other suffer is strange and objectively wrong.

Doesn’t look too safe to have a bottle of lighter fluid sitting under your griddle.

This is ridiculous. Ive tried 3 different regulators and 3 different tanks. I tried this trick still doesnt work. I have crab boilers, bbqs and smolers and have never had a problem.
