Blackstar LT Dual Overdrive Pedal Demo

Музыка

The LT DUAL offers the ultimate in distortion flexibility. Channel 1 lets you move from clean, to boost to overdrive. Channel 2 then takes you from super crunch right up to screaming lead. The unique switching operation will transform a single channel amp into a three channel tone machine.
Blackstar's patented ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit, giving you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control, will take you from the USA to the UK and anywhere in between, whilst the patent-applied-for clipping circuit delivers amazing valve-like tone and compression for a wide variety of playing styles.

I have one of these; used it in my old band as a clean boost. If you're running it into a clean amp, you can set up the other one as a distorted lead tone. It worked okay in that application. We were playing a lot of sixties tunes, so I was on straight clean most of the time. But I wound up getting an MXR clean boost pedal as well and that was a lot better. Clean sound, a clean boost and two distortion settings. Nice pedal; I found the tones pretty usable. Not bad for $65 used. Thanks for posting, Shane!

I must say that I’ve owned this peak for about three years and I don’t have any complaints. I use the right channel for rights and soft lead, and I switch to the left channel for a more aggressive tone; kinda likes boost. I’ve been thinking about purchasing an Alberta 2 from T Rex but I actually like my Blackstar.

I have a fuzz as my main rhythm tone and a bad monkey before the fuzz as an almost clean boost for a lead tone. But if I get this, I can set up the first channel for a hotter rhythm tone (for more song dynamics) and the 2nd for a lead tone. Excellent.

It would be nice to MAX all the pots to hear the full range of the pedal's options. Just dialing in settings you like isn't really a demo. But thanks!

actuallt it turns into a kinda fuzz-ish sound. The mais difference is the amount of gain of each channel and the frequency response. The second channel has more bass

Just wondering if there is a delay when switching channels? Apparently this is a bit of an issue with the ht dual

Do you think you could do a demo of this with a wah? And maybe a more in depth on the channel switching?

I bought this pedal several months ago and have used it many times at various venues; both small bars and larger lounge type rooms. This pedal is very nice; however, I found it to have too much bottom end; no matter how I tweaked it, that bottom still reverberated through. It clashed with the bass and was hidden in the band bass mix. I ended up going back to my "Boss Dual Overdrive" pedal because it has much less bass and can be heard clearly and distinctly in the band mix. Don't get me wrong; its a wonderful overdrive sound; its just a bit too much bottom end. It might work better through a Fender or Marshal amp.

Shane, did you ever end up trying one of these live? I find them to sound kind of sterile and a bit flat. I know we never look to color our guitar but it doesn't seem to have any "magic"

Lam Chop at first I really didn't like this pedal because the "red" channel sounded way too bassy and scooped with humbuckers - I was thinking of using the green channel for stratocaster blues stuff and kicking on to the red channel for humbucker chunk on my hss strat but I swapped it around and now I love it - perfect for what I want - the humbuckers fatten up the overdrive and the distortion thickens the single coils for a great Texas blues sound

this pedal has a good sound but it completely drops out when going from one channel to the other. This is frustrating. has anyone else experienced this? I mean this thing kills the sound completely for a split second. that sucks.

I am not a complainer; nor am i critical of a product for no reason. However I must post this ! I used this pedal on three live gigs upon purchasing this last month. Just last week during my 4th outing it simply stopped working in the middle of our 2nd set at the same time making a loud hum - it was plugged into an outlet so it was not the battery. I have since made attempts to fix this with no positive results. I just needed to let you all know.

Turned off at the "you'd assume you could run both at the same time, but you actually can't"... what a waste of a dual pedal IMO sort that out Blackstar ffs. Good video though dude.

Why would anyone assume you could run both channels at the same time? What a stupid assumption, they're called channels for a reason. You're on one, or the other.

I actually prefer it like this. I already have a couple duals you can stack and if you only want one side then you only want the other, it's a pain in the arse. Have to "double tap" With my compressor this pedal effectively gives me 6 sounds: 1)Clean (just amp) 2)Clean boost (comp). 3)Mild gain (side 2). 4)Heavy gain (side 1), 5)Boosted mild gain (comp+side 2) 6)Mega gain sustain for days you can go away and have a cuppa tea and it's still going (comp+side 1, or my "Nigel Tufnell Toan"). Yeah so, ffs maybe don't be so impulsive next time you comment. Think, analyse, "how could I make creative use of this pedaal?" Sort that out, mate.

Just play power chords.... The cheesy soloing doesnt give the best idea of differential. Simplicity is much better for these reviews.

This is a shitty demo! You can get that tone you showed just by using the Amp's overdrive. You gotta crank it so we can really hear a difference.

  • @tlbonehead

    @tlbonehead

Fullcollapse1 that's not the point. If you dialed in the amp for similar overdrive you wouldn't have a clean tone option.

tlbonehead I have a Maxxon 808 and i can clearly hear a significant difference on My Mesa Express 5 50's gain on the burn channel and on vintage. This is crap because it sounds about the same as on my clean channel which defeats the purpose of using this as a demo when he is not going to show everything it can do so it's a waste of time.
