Blacksmith Boot Camp: S1 E4 - Getting Schooled In the Heartland | Cupping a Shoe
Season 1 Episode 4 of Blacksmith Boot Camp, A farrier students' reality series featuring Heartland Horseshoeing School in Lamar, Missouri. Today is a Wednesday at Heartland, which means they have horses brought right to the school to get worked on. Not only does this provide an opportunity for hands-on experience and valuable lessons along the way from Chris, it's also a discounted farrier service for local folks with horses and a chance to get them all worked on at once. Today students get some advice on dealing with a bad foot and how to cup a shoe to accommodate the challenging fit.
Owner of the school, Chris Gregory, gives another valuable demonstration on getting the full potential out of the GE Classic Pull Offs.

That cupped shoe (Salad bowl shoe) has a lot of value when you're presented with a flat footed, thin/weak walled horse. Chris makes a good point. A cold-shoer is out of luck when trying to manage a horse with those problems Working hot opens a world of options and opportunities. Excellent video.

Hey thanks, sir. It's not always easy to represent a place of such excellence, but I'm honored to be a part of it! Learning a lot and enjoying every shoot for sure!
I wish I would have heard about your school a bit sooner. Ill be starting the 12 week program at Oklahoma Farrier School on monday. I'm sure it'll be great too but this school looks really good and it looks like there is a cool atmosphere there.
