You can change the tone of voice. A lot of kpop-artists have done it actually. It's actually pretty common look at Hani of Exid her voice is deep too but when they debuted her voice was as high as kite until people noticed how amazing her original tone was. Usually, the agency will ask to have an artist to change up their tone for better marketability. Hope you are not trying to make this video clickbait without understanding the basics of singing.

jisoo also sings with that technique (but not all the time) especially in D4 in a few performances she sounds nasal and strains some notes and Some blinks says that yg picks some trainees who has a big potential for being a main vocal and trains them with this nasal technique (idk though i just heard it from some co blinks). sorry for my english

Maybe to have dynamics in the vocal section of the group. Jisoo does the deep round full vocals while rosie does that high nasally light tone. There are only 4 members with a main and a lead vocal so they can't both use the same technique. Otherwise their songs would sound boring. The contrast of Jisoo's and Rosie's vocals makes their songs very pleasing to hear.

you can hear her voice strain when she signs nowadays especially when hitting high notes, it's harder for her. it's most likely yg knew she was a talented vocalist and whatnot and wanted her to debut but her natural voice wouldn't work well in the group with the others' voices, since there was already jennie and jisoo with deep voices.

i dont think yg is forcing he on anything as you can see rose speaks in a low pitched voice normally and most of time she goes sometimes high pitched when she is shy and alot of ppl even me tend to do that spontouniously when we get shy ... when it comes to her singing voice she is using a wrong method not a forced technique .. cuz she can sound beautiful and relaxed even if she want to go high pitched without straining her voice and sounding smooth and its not fake its just a technique but instead shes using a wrong method swhich is sining with her nose and throat .. if she relaxes her throat and learn breath control and chest head voice shell sound smooth .. this is not forced techniqu but more like she wasnt trained enough they let her adapt to her own chosen swrong tehnique without correcting it

I wouldn't go that far.

She has the potential to become an amazing vocalist. Her timbre is very pretty and nice to listen to. However, I do strongly believe that YG should change their vocal trainers/instructors. Most YG vocalists use a very unhealthy technique and it won't help them stay in the industry long-term. I will continue to support Rosé and I hope she improves more in the future.

Baekhyun & Seulgi stan BP’s vocal trainer (Shin Yumi) appeared on Produce 101 season two, and when one of the contestants couldn’t hit a high note for a song, she told the contestant to scream to get to the note. So yeah, BP’s not learning a really healthy technique.

vitoria every Singer/vocalist has a pretty and a unique voice... It's just that when you have a healthy technique, you preserve your voice in order to be successful in the long run

i love Rosé but tbh i prefer the deeper voice doesn't mean her high pitch voice isn't good just a preference

I also love her voice in "without you".

She's great but I prefer her old voice like in gdragons song

What scares me is how easy it is for the nasally, aegyo-type style to ruin a singer’s vocal chords forever. It happened to Brittany Spears, if you look her up before she became famous and her producer made her sing like a baby, she had a beautiful deep voice. Now she can’t even sing Happy Birthday correctly. YG did the same thing to Park Bom; her vocal chords were damaged permanently because he wanted her to have a unique color. I only hope this doesn’t happen to baby Rosie :(

I’ve taken singing lessons for 6 years and I perform in front of people a lot, and even if I wasn’t trained it would be easy to tell that Rosé is struggling. She seems out of breath, she often goes flat on high notes, and she has very little vocal stamina. Remember how tired she was at Party People during AAIYL after performing the medley? A few minutes of singing doesn’t tire you out that much unless you’re straining.

This comment section reminds me of the comments on the video in 2010 about Bom’s voice. Blackjacks swore up and down her vocals were fine and her technique was great. Then later when she was declining vocally they were begging her to change her technique but it was to late. A good example is Britney Spears, when she was a kid to mid teens, her voice was deep and soulful. Later it was revealed that her company told her to sing in a baby voice and it ruined her vocal cords 😢. This is history repeating itself

The only problem for me is that she struggles a lot when she sings live ( out of breath, strained etc.) and sometimes it feels like she is hurting her vocals. Someone already said that out of the big 3, YGE has the worst vocal training while SM has the best.

On the other side, a good vocal coach doesn't mean a good student - the student has to listen to his/her teacher and try to do their best to get better in order to improve. I mean, Suho from EXO has trained VERY LONG at SM but he isn't a good vocalist - maybe because he didn't set his priorities that way? For Tiffany, she chose a nasal style for her singing. I have noticed though that SM vocalists tend to be rather nasal, a dramatic example would be BoA - and Seulgi and Wendy both sing nasally, Seulgi more, Wendy less. But still, if you read the analyses on Kpopvocalanalysis, you will notice that a lot of the top vocalists come from SM entertainment. The best vocalists from SM (Luna from fx and Kyuhyun from Super Junior) are better than the best JYP vocalists (Jokwon from 2AM and Jimin from 15&) and they are better than the best vocalists from YG, Lee Hi and Seungyoon from Winner. You also have to note that Jimin, Lee Hi and Seungyoon all have also had good technique before they entered their respective companies. Sure, Chen from SM was also trained externally, but Luna was purely trained at SM and has become a very good vocalist.

I do the same thing when I’m talking to someone face to face, I usually have my “normal” voice but it gets higher when I’m talking to someone on the phone or with a lot of people. It’s normal, alot of people do it. As well as talking in another language, most people will change their tone without knowing it, I’m one of those people lol. Along with singing voice and talking voice, they can be very different!

She debuted this song at the age of 16th ....definitly her voice is changed now....but her voice is real

rose doesn't use a fake voice when she sings, she just sings with her nose and that causes her voice to sound higher. if she were to properly learn how to sing from her diaphragm and breathe correctly, she could use that nice low voice of hers(which is really nice and idk why she decides to change it) and also hit her high notes even better.

I think it has to do with yg ent training cause it's the same case as bom. Bom has diff voice and technique b4 their debut and then it suddenly changed over time.

Hyuna's natural singing voice is so nice. Wish she would use it more.

yes but rose only just started using this style and park bom was basically shouting throughout her whole 2ne1 career as opposed to rose who does not really use a shouty tone (think 2ne1 fire vs blackpink playing with fire and directly compare rose with park bom - this was at the beginning of bom's idol career).

The way I remember her voice cracking in Ddu du ddu du because it was too high breaks my heart.

Of course speaking voice can be different from the singing voice And its not just about technique its also how time changes her voice she came and trained when she was younger of cousre there will be some changes also the training may change her voice based on how she was trained

Its not that she was trained badly because i myself was a part of a chorale group and the voice changes depending on how they were trained pr how they sing throughout the trainee days from what i see rose's voice before was more of the low note and now she sing higher notes i know she sings high notes before too but mostly she has that deep voice but for a singer when you originally have low tone voice then after training she can do both already the only problem i see with rose is that with just two songs is out of breath already that is why she was doing some adlibs during live shows i think yg focuses on her vocal than her dancing even though she is the lead dancer

From what i can see she is healthy very healthy and even if you or the others want her to stop do you think you can do something about it its rose's decision after all but i dont think she will stop cause she did not trained for alnost five years to let herself become like that so dont worry too much because if she was really hurt by her singing she wouldnt sing but as you can see she still sings it means she is fine and she love what she is doing so we dont have that much of a say

She lacks technique in singing. She has a SUPER BEAUTIFUL voice,but her trying to keep that "unique" voice(I think it's the company) Sometimes it's to suit the song's feeling. But this is kinda hurting her vocal cords,you can hear her voice cracks. Imma blink and I hope she'll only get better and better. FIGHTING

Momo sounded better in 2015 (one of the stronger singers in the group after the main, leads and chaeyoung) Rose sounded better in 2012. Their companies are ruining their talents.

You’re using the word technique wrong. The word you should’ve used is style. Vocal technique is completely different. I don’t mind Rosé’s style of singing, but it prevents her from improving her vocal technique.

Why don't you stan Red Velvet I think there was an analysis made recently by a music analyst on Instagram who just said that she was not harming her voice instead she uses her nasal voice just to strain her throat less and that is the other technique most of the artist use. You should search chipmunkindonesiabar on Instagram and clear your doubts. I being a blink I will always wish the best for them. I do believe that YG, he takes better care of his Queen's than anyone of us ever could.

Altho she sounds good with her voice now I honestly prefer her old technique. It sounds smoother and easy to the ears. Bc sometimes when I hear Rosé she sounds stuggling and her voice sound somewhat constricted(?)...I still like her all the same tho but I sure do hope she'd use a voice where she's comfortable & she can use to any type of song she'd like to sing

Her voice isn't fake, but she exaggerates it and uses it to her advantage. A milder version is common in Korean accents.

Apart from singing Rosé is very talented, she can dance, play guitar and piano, model for pubs with YG's colleague, turn 360 degrees, speak as if she were in a box, she can make rhymes (in vlive), she can juggle very well (concert worlds tours) and full of talent. And singing level I think his voice in this moments is sexy and sweet and unique, I will not say that his voice is unique because there's better but I will say unique because his voice is rare, I'm just waiting for his SOLO I hope that she will prove how beautiful her voice is, but what I am looking for is her voice is several people besides it is the power on her voice as before she starts, I do not say that she takes her voice before I just want to see her strong side.

CUBE (HyunA) just teach them to amplify the 'tones' and the way to sing. (for they voices) but sadly YG just trying to change them voices. I love Cube for that

There are many VOCAL COACHES who've reacted to BP but none of them mentioned any "problem" with her voice. This was only a rumour started out by antis but later many people started to believe it. She's been using the same technique for 8 years now , her voice hasn't shown any sign of damages and is perfectly alright. She's singing an acoustic of Hope not and she sounds Fully alright. If that's the case why y'all still believe in these things. These companies are extremely strict - yeah , sure but still it's only our assumption. She never got to stop in between in her 1 hour long , non-break , performance is Coachella and Osaka - if something like that happen atleast I can believe some bit of it , but no , anything like that haven't happened at all.

There’s a lot more evidence than you think, Rose also made a song with G-DRAGON a while back before predebut and her voice is very different(it’s not as high pitched and there’s no nasal in her voice) also, if you don’t know YG also forced park Bom to sing in a nasal tone, which she was the main vocalist of 2ne1... blackpink’s older sisters. And yes I have proof of that as well, search up park Bom singing predebut. She sounds much more deeper and lower with a healthy tone. I don’t wanna argue ab this anymore, let’s just agree to disagree
