WOW...I NEVER SAW THE MOVIE OUTSIDE OF THE ONE SHOWING IN THE THEATRE in Chicago, Ill. I sang three vocal songs in this movie: "The Black Jack" theme song, "You Can Bet My Love Is True" and "Falling In Love With You" written by Jack and Charlene Ashford. Jack Ashford heard me sing in Los Angeles and chose me to do the vocals for this movie. We have remained friends ever since. This is too bazaar. My first time visiting Las Vegas during the partial filming. When I saw the names on the marquees of Vegas, I knew this was to be my second home and it was for 21 years. Amazing the memories this holds for me. Loretta Holloway

When it comes to movies, I am just stuck in the 1970's Black Movies. I know they're *_Cheezee Cheep,_* but that is My best memories of STRONG BLACK MEN I was around in while I was a little girl, My Father & Uncles was around those ages of these MEN in that time.

I was a teenager in the 70's watching movies like these! Also, I was 23yrs old in 1978, watching this movie Blackjack☺
I still have this movie on VHS.
Damu King played in a lot of classic such as Shaft ,Sweet Preacherman , Black Godfather
Excellent, I know Tony Burton and he is a great actor. Thanks this movie!!
when I look at this movie I just want no drama in life.
Holy cow! Mayfield was actually William Smith from "Invasion of the Bee Girls!" He also played Conan's father in "Conan the Barbarian," one of my favorite movies of all time! I didn't realize he was in this, since he was billed as Bill Smith in the credits. Over-all, pretty decent blaxploitation version of "Ocean's Eleven."

I think Tony Burton was the only person in this film to have any kind of notoriety. I don't know how Tony Burton goes from an Oscar winning Best Picture to "Blackjack"! Not saying this film was bad, but his transition from best film Oscar winner to "Blaxploitation" makes little to no sense at all. Well, I suppose the man still needed to eat and pay his bills. It's just sad that Burton wasn't offered roles more suited to his rise in acting after being in "Rocky". Just saying that Rocky should have opened better doors than "Blackjack". This film was surely a career killer for everyone else in this film, so Burton got lucky to find work after this film!

That was life for a black actor in the 70s and 80s Sidney Poiter was a Oscar winner too but he has to do Blaxlpoitation movies too like Uptown Saturday Night movies
@RumbleFish69
4 жыл бұрын
@@kinglord7707 I suppose you are correct, my friend. I just think that the people, especially an actor like Sidney Poitier because he actually won the Oscar himself, would have better opportunities. Tony Burton didn't win one, he was just part of the best picture. Still, his contributions to that film should be acknowledged. Now, this is not to say that the Blaxploitation films were bad. In fact, I loved these movies. I am 56 years old so I grew up in the time where I could see these films in the theatre! And, as poorly made as it was, I am a huge fan of Dolemite. In fact, I have an original Dolemite poster, which I paid $10 for 15 years ago, hanging in my living room. Incidentally, it's worth several thousand dollars today because it is an original and not a reprint. I am not jumping on this recent Dolemite trend because that poster has been hanging for at least the last 8-years, if not more!! When it opened, my pop took me to see Dolemite in the Bronx and I only have great memories of spending time with my father watching this action-packed film. I love these films. I own most of these movies so this has nothing to do with the actual films. Like I said, I love them. I just know these were productions with low budgets so these people were paid very little - even if you won an Oscar! I am just happy that times have changed and this is no longer the case. Thank you for the exchange, my friend.
Devious movie.😅
This must be Billy Jack's third cousin......
