I LOVE to hear wolves howling... And was blessed enough to hear them a few times. Heard red wolves in smoky mtns once years ago....they are very musical howls... One of the most beautiful sounds I've ever heard... Nature's music. Unfortunately the red wolf population park service introduced to the smokies died out in a couple of years. I think they have introduced them in North Carolina and they are doing well last I heard which is AWESOME 👍😊🐕

I know you shouldn't make eye contact with a wolf (they take it as a challenge to attack), but I looked directly into a wolf's eyes in the wild once. Fortunately I was safely in a truck, but boy was it incredible.

Imagine what pre-historic humans thought about thunders and all, they thought they were voices of supernatural beings like gods. To a wolf, maybe it sounds like a great animal or a huge wolf. Maybe, wolf was trying to communicate with the source of the sound and maybe saying 'Hey, I live here, stay back!"
