The Alcatraz boys together just priceless !!!
He is fast as hell. But for me, Yngwie's most terrifying skill is his vibrato.Absolutely perfect.

I agree, I think he's probably got the best vibrato in the business.

Total package...along with the ease that he does it with...and his cool stage presence...lol
5:42 That sustain and feedback, it was longer than my last relationship! lol
Vai' sweeps are even different than other players. Amazing guitarist
Malmsteen is so much better when he's got other great guitarists to keep him in check. He's so much more emotive around Vai especially. Wish I could have seen this tour.
I remember when this album came out everyone I knew including myself were big EVH fan's and still are he is a guitar God. We thought where could it possibly go from here. Then came Malmsteen and was like a brick shit house fell on us. What was great about him wasn't that he was better then EVH but that he opened up a brand new style of shred that was every bit as innovative as Eddie just in a different direction and that expanded everyone's horizons.

i know right! this is nuts! as an 80s guitar kid I almost can't process this!
Haters gonna hate but these two virtuoso are pioneers of shredding. All that sprung out today are products of the past shredders. Respect sirs!
Vai should be on stage with Yngwie all the time so it forces him to play the harmonies and melodies of the damn song.

I always knew Yngwie cared about speed but in his early days it was also about melodies, harmonies and at least the phrasing’s of the songs. Now he’s so consumed with speed and showmanship that it seems all the other things he was so good at are lost. I agree it’s sad.
Now let’s see Yngwie joining Vai in For the Love of God... Ha!!
Vai on Malmsteen (11:25)- "He raised the bar for all of us man"...that he did, with his graceful shreds.
Two of the most influental guitarists for me... On one stage. Both masters in their own department.
I remember when both of these guys were coming up around 1983. Vai with Zappa, Malmsteen with Alcatrazz and before that, Steeler. Two of the greatest guitarists ever. I'll never forget the first time I heard either of them.
I’m so glad I’ve saw the show which these two playing together. They have different styles but they’re both the greatest
I remember when this song first came out by Yngwie...man that was a longgg time ago, it is so great to see these 2 together playing this

I remember that too. I think Steve Vai actually did a transcription of the song in Guitar Player magazine within a year or two. Interesting to see them play it here.

Saw Yngwie at Fenders Grand Ballroom in Long Beach, Ca 1985......nothing like it before or since
I always find those negative comments about Yngwie nowadays playing. To the haters: you can play the Malmsteen stuff faster, cleaner, better than him, but he (not you) created his style and it influenced the rock guitar playing almost like Hendrix and Van Halen, and by the way you are all deaf 'cause here he played like a guitar God (Vai too). "He (Yngwie) raised the bar for all of us" Steve Vai.

The only man IS Panos A.Arvanitis. go check out his youtube Channel he is an alien. Son of yngwie, Zakk, Gary Moore and so more
Having those two play this song together is EPIC. Glad at least one of them can put their ego aside for the tour.
I never imagined I would see these both on a stage playing toguether one day
They enjoy eachothers company you can tell Vai adding som flair to it amd Yngwie brings out some different flavors along the same lines. Especially Vai cuz he needs to be on his toes with Yngwies playing and his piece of music. Would like to see them playing one of Vai's songs and see what he thinks Yngwie could contribute to it. And I would also want to see them and maybe one more to play *Icarus Dream Suite Opus 4*.

Vai had no problems with his parts of the song. Both of these guys are different in their own way, it put them together, and here we have a masterpiece, a masterpiece that goes beyond anything I have ever heard!
It's nice to see and hear him interact with other guitar masters, somthing missing from the early days,in fact him playin with another guitar player is what pulled me into this video
They should redo the Crossroads duel on this tour!

Almost played out like there wasn't enough room for the 2 of them ! Great harmony , 2 of the greatest gods of the G-TAR !
I feel like Malmsteen plays better live with generation axe, then he does on his own tours in 2018

I love the intro! Even though I'm not into that sort of instrument wanking, I adore the attitude and skills. Way to go!

I knew Steve was awesome, but I never knew he could hang with "YM"...... In another reality, it would've been awesome to have seen Randy Rhoads up there with those guys! It would've been awesome to see two classically influenced guitarists go at it!! ....... ...... Only in a perfect world.......
Dayum! Vai makes it look so easy!
best of the best!!!
Hey, these guys are pretty good.
Sin duda rolas de altisima calidad interpretativa , dos Grandes Músicos
They should do some old Alcatraz tunes, as they both used to be in that same band...
5:42 epic
Amazing playing.
Best guitarists ever!
Thanks Jim!!!!!!
I don't understand when people say this type of playing lacks "feeling" if the player is putting feeling into his playing it will be conveyed in the way that player knows best, just cause you don't understand what the notes are saying doesn't mean there is no feeling behind it it just means you may need to listen a little better and try to understand what the guitarist is saying. Music is the most non restricted form of communication if you listen and focus on the person speaking you can understand what they are feeling.

i don't understand either... an acquired taste i suppose? black star on its own is a very emotional piece imo
First of all I got to say Steve Vai an Yngwie are both phenomenal together but Steve Vai is phenomenal guitar player and let me say about Yngwie he's a beast on the guitar the two of them playing Black Star is beyond this world and let me tell you I love the part when they held that note 4 forget how many minutes but that's just un-freakin'-believable I hope if they'll get the chance to release this on live DVD and A2 CD set for the near future that tells me I better get back to playing guitar again because I used to play like that a long time ago but as they say practice makes perfect thanks for posting this video
Dude, thanks for uploading the vids! They are precious:)
Perfection doesn't exist but these guys are very near ! It seems that destiny(what doesn't exist) made them to play together! What a great orgasmtic pleasure to see them playing in reunion, listening to each other anf have fun to do it ! Have emotion to share it !
Vai was great but Yngwie OWNS it .... literally.
As much as I don't care for Malmsteen, I do appreciate watching him and Vai team up to do this song. Both men really shine on their respective musicianship.
HIGH CLASS!🎸🎼🎸🔥🎼👏👏👏👏
Stevees el puto amo!!
What I would have given to see Randy Rhoads and Yngwie collaborate 💕
A entrada de Vai foi show!!!
Turn the quality down one notch and it won't keep skipping. Worked for me.
miss Vitto Brata, hoping he plays on the stage like this

Vitto was great. I read that he doesn't even touch the guitar anymore and hasn't in years. I found that very strange.

The drummer and bassist quietly got off the stage hours ago, backing track getting the job done here
We love DKramat
This song is the song of a guitar God. This is how Steve pays tribute. Yngwie how about doing "For the love of God" with Steve.
Bautiful giter play and sweet is you Live very nice.
You dont remember i Nevers Forget .
I remember this when it came out in "Guitar Player"' magazine._.The littlle disc included in the mag. Vai's ''Attitude Song'' wa about the same time.Heaps of gain and play as any ' E ' notes in between. !!
theyre both gods.iow
1:06 for a moment I thought that guitar is on 🔥😂😂
Monsters guitarman Top!
Orada yeni bir krallık kurulmuş sanki :) Hi from Turkey.
Good two gitaris
damn goodness
They should do Alcatrazz together ! That would be awesome !
Yngwie plays in 1 Minute more notes than me at my whole life!
This is fucking amazing!!! \m/
Wow...
Just invite Satch and the guitar Gods line up is complete ..
Was a fan of both well for being a drummer as much as a drummer would be but either way a fan or not these guys fucking rock.....that drummer needs me to build his ass a bad ass drum rack though those cross cymbal stands are driving me crazy
This is so fucking epic

Tröttsamt att alltid hata.....både Steve o Yngwie har skapat något som många kopierat. Respektera deras insatser o sustain.....eller gå vidare till en annan video. Good hunt for the next thing... Love to those that love
I like it hahaha
Yngwie is the Fucking Master. For ever!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no escape from Alcatraz...!!!
Both master musicians but I prefer malmsteen on his own. His chaos is part of him and I felt he was kept in check. Love his speed and accuracy with a vibrato from hell
And don't forget backup from bassist Pete Griffin, who had to accommodate the virtuoso styles of several lead guitarists!
Ancient gods whose legacy lived on
Que raro se ve Yngwie, se ve triste o es mi imaginación?
What is that, that he was playing at 0:35 seconds?
These Stratocaster players are at such a disadvantage, Steve Vai's guitar sounds so much better it's crazy!
Is that JP Bouvet on the drums?
