How interesting. I've not had any in my bins.

It's possible you might have some if they are deep in your bins, but typically, you'd see them closer to the top, at least in my experience, but they really do help speed up decomposition!!!!

Correct me if I am wrong, but paper is bad because it is decomposing very slowly and only when it is wet? So it is bad to use it due to chemicals used to whiten it or/and keep it in "paperish" state? Surely does not look like a great environment for the larvae, or am I missing something and is misinformed?

It kind of depends - paper isn't bad because you do need dry "brown" materials to balance out the compost because too much food waste and no dried browns will make your compost anaerobic and will become a sludgy mess. In terms of chemicals, the white paper towels is kind of heavily debated, and I do want to start using brown paper towels in the kitchen, but, from what I have read/researched, the bleach used to whiten paper towels denatures after awhile, especially after it's been broken down in compost/you'd have to throw in SO much of it to really harm anything.
