You will recognize the riff, it's very memorable. N.I.B. actually came from Geezer Butler's (Bass) nickname he gave Bill Ward's (Drummer) goatee, it started out as Nibby and became Nib for short. Geezer Butler wrote the lyrics to N.I.B. The Lyrics Are In The First Person From The Point Of View Of Lucifer. Lyricist Geezer Butler Has Said That "The Song Was About The Devil Falling In Love And Totally Changing, Becoming A Good Person." The false story is it stands for Nativity In Black. @ John Starace I think Sabbath's Guitarist Tony Iommi was the first to use modes inn his guitarwork instead of only Blues and Pentatonic scales.

If you pause it the instant they learn who the song is about, its priceless!

It is a love song about Lucifer falling for a human.

Man, classic Sabbath just never gets old, never sounds tired. I’ve heard this song a billion times before, but I always find myself swaying to this insane groove! No metal bands swing like Ozzy, errr, WARD-ERA Sabbath does!

Yes Ozzy cancelled his tour today from an injury he suffered while he was sick with pneumonia. But he will be back on the crazy train in 2020

I appreciate you guys reacting to Black Sabbath. I"m 60yrs old. Always keep in mind that Ozzy and the lyrics are sometimes presented in the Third person, in the case of NIB he is singing about how Satan or Lucifer presents himself to you, not that he is Lucifer. Many Black Sabbath songs are this way and many people misunderstand this context.

You are Spot On, I once went to a BOC concert in the early 70s and they were passing out handbills that listed different Bands upcoming and Sabbath was on there, It said they were a True Cristian Band... I went and saw them and loved them ever since.

Geezer was inspired by Cream's bassist Jack Bruce - the intro solo was a tribute to him. Geezer Butler was nicknamed Geezer, because his brother was in the army, and he met a lot of Cockney soldiers which said "Geezer" - which is like a bloke or mate in British parlance. I guess he started using the term himself for people he met and that's how he became Geezer Butler.

I had A Friend of Mine in Junior High School Who Turned Me on To Black Sabbath. I Said How did you find out about this band and he said when they first moved into this house there was this stack of Albums that were left behind and he listened to all, then got to the last one and it was Black Sabbath's First Album !!! I've been a Fan Ever Since and we were and still are Musician's !!! This Was in 1972 !!!
