Black Sabbath - Live Evil (Full Album) [Official Video]

Музыка

You're listening to the official full album for Black Sabbath - 'Live Evil' (1982) - remastered in 2008. Pre-order Black Sabbath - Live Evil (40th Anniversary Super Deluxe) here: blacksabbath.lnk.to/liveevil
Black Sabbath made a two-pronged comeback in 1980 and 1981 when Ronnie James Dio joined their ranks as their new lead singer for the platinum albums, Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules. On the 1982 Mob Rules U.S. tour, they decided to record shows to create the first official Black Sabbath live album. With material drawn evenly between songs written with Ronnie as well as older classics such as “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” when Live Evil was released at the end of 1982, it represented an accurate and powerful memento of Black Sabbath Mk2 on their second world tour. Although it was hailed by influential heavy metal magazine Kerrang! as “one of the greatest live albums of all time” in 1983, the band was never completely satisfied with the original mix. Now we are able to present a fresh, new 40th anniversary mix of the entire album, remixed from the original analog multi tracks by longtime associate of the band, Wyn Davis. The packaging will also include a 40-page hard back book featuring a newly commissioned 12,000-word essay, the new remix as a double LP, as well as the original double album, newly remastered in 2022 by Andy Pearce. The CD edition will also be four discs, with a 60-page hardback book.

You must have great teen memories about it bro, So magical discovering music back then(80s). But honestly i understood the Dio problem years later, Love music and own a lot, But you can tell Dio vocals original version(dont know after that i need only one copy of an album anyway). That his vocals volume were turned down as he was trying to to turn them up when the guys weren't in the studio, Many Dio albums that are great of course the vocals are way too loud it make sound the music so far in the background. All had egos no matter how much we can appreciated them, 20s-30s are shit self centered decades

@@lta6494 It was mainly Ozzy's fault, He couldn't stand the fact of Sabbath continuing with a better singer than him and having huge success which I never understood bc while Sabbath was having success ozzy was having success aswell. Ozzy used to bring a Dwarf on stage and called him Ronnie just to mock Dio, That was uncalled for and very disrespectful thing to do to a fellow singer and muscian in Metal. I don't blame one bit the things Dio said about ozzy like (Clown) and other things. Ozzy did reached to Wendy when Dio was dying but there was never an apology between them.

I'm 55 years old and a definitive Ozzy era fan. BUT Ronnie Dio AND Ian Gillen made AMAZING music with Sabbath. I'm a guitarist and cut my teeth on early Sab. This offering was top notch even with its controversy. Double peace signs AND Devil Horns to all us Sab nuts out there. A PLUS is the extra verses added to Heaven and Hell.

I don't think people realize how hard it was for a guy with a voice like Dio to sing Ozzy's songs. On one hand you don't just want him to imitate Ozzy, but on the other hand you want him to capture the spirit of the 70s songs rather than try to make them sound like Heaven & Hell era Sabbath. I think he hit a really good balance between those two extremes here.

I disagree, for the most part. I think Children of The Grave works fantastically (but rarely played!), but War Pigs and Black Sabbath don't. However, I've always found it more pronounced on Live Evil than other recordings - not sure why that is. War Pigs was of course played with Elf, so it's not like he didn't choose to sing it. Plus "My name is.. LUCIFER! Pleeeaaase take my hand!!" always made me smile. Perhaps controversially, I'd say Tony Martin did a better job on Ozzy songs than Dio did (before Dehumaniser, anyway).

I think it’s gotta be Sabotage which was their best album per usual it’s extremely difficult to choose between the debut from Paranoid; Master Of Reality; Vol.# 4; Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath; Technical Ecstasy; Never Say Die! Guess which one I first heard when it was released and I was just a 9 year old kid hearing it for the first time in my childhood and most critics hated the album due to Ozzy’s drinking and drug binges and not including his schizophrenia issue which didn’t have a cure yet? I love an under dog album kinda like:1977’s Draw The Line by Aerosmith when they were at their absolute worst condition with heroin addiction and benzodiazepine abuse; alcoholism was rampant as well but it’s still a great album kids even if they needed some help from The Dolls- David Johansson; almost took that Skynyrd plane according to Steven Tyler in Walk This Way 📚, but he was too busy shooting a.45 through the drywall at Joe Perry whom was apparently holding out on him with his dope. Alice Cooper’s an excellent example as to why they oughtta remain high or retire if they don’t want play their actual numbers and insist on playing Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives soundtrack singles from the movie while not featuring any other music from Love It Til Death- Muscle Of Love, Welcome To My Nightmare has a few ok songs and Go To Hell really sucks balls with exception to the title track and that’s all! In my opinion this album is “ The Perfect Storm “ of a live metal album . The awesome riffs of Mr Iommi meeting the voice of Mr Dio creating the perfect event . Dio sings the old Sabbath songs like he had wrote them himself , the band never sounded this good before or after this period ( just my opinion). For me this was Dio and Sabbaths moment in time never to be bettered, love it 🤘👍

I respect Dio's singing the early Sabbath songs. It's as if he was proving he is a fan like us and understands what a privilege it is to be in the classic band. The same goes for Sammy Hagar joining Van Halen and Deep Purple's singers replacing Ian Gillan. Certainly, there are others who eschewed the prima donna, egotistic attitudes and earned greater respect from their fans who want to hear their favorites.
