I like the long and the short videos...😂
You are one of the herbalists I go to to learn. There are so many out there that have such a limited scope.
As a child I remember women using black pepper to stop false labor or to speed up real labor. Not sure what made this happen, but if a woman was in false labor it would stop, if she wasn't she had to head to the hospital pretty quickly.
Did some work years ago with some Eastern European military men and one came by when I had a terrible case of the flu. He put a layer of black pepper in a shot glass, filled it with vodka, then let it sit for maybe half an hour. He handed it to me and told me to take a sip. Fortunately I was suspicious, so I took a very small sip - yeouch! Man that was harsh! I took 2 more really small sips, and amazingly I felt better in literally minutes. The guy told me that miners in Eastern Europe take this concoction every day when they come out of the mine. I'd have to be really sick to touch it - it's horribly strong, but this guy swore by it.
my favorite spice. I put pepper on EVERYTHING! My family thinks I'm nuts
I'm saving my pennies Doc!! The exchange rate from Aus to US is a killer!! Hoping I will join ur school soon 👍🏻👍🏻

What is your thoughts on Blood Types and what herbs to utilize or not? Thank you!
Sometimes people believe themselves to be allergic to food ingredients, but the adverse effects may be the "cleansing poisons " running through our alimentary canal, not necessarily adverse to bee pollen etc.
Oooh, I can grow it here in Florida! 😁👍
I've always loved black pepper! Now I have a great excuse to use it at every meal, despite frequently sneezing after grinding it onto my plate...
Great info! I love fresh ground black pepper. I made a tincture using finely chopped turmeric, ginger, and freshly ground black pepper that I like to take when I feel like I'm getting a cold or flu.
Appreciate your historical and anthropological perspective.
Great information and I get excited when I see a new video. Thanks as always!
A great reminder for me to use more black pepper! Sometimes we see herbs like black pepper as 'common'--but many of them are extraordinary! Thanks.
Thank you so much, Dr. Jones.
I made a tincture of turmeric root and freshly ground black pepper last summer. My personal experiment!
Black pepper is one of the spices I've been adding to my smoothies lately. :)
Black pepper is seriously amazing! Anticancerous?! Wow!
From what I looked up, peppercorn has a shelf life of 1-3 years if stored properly. So my question is, will that shelf life dramatically increase if freeze dried? Will it still work as good medicinally if freeze dried? Thanks.
Great news about black pepper,so many I never heard before and also like black pepper, time to get a grinder to get those benefit Thank you 😊 Dr. Jones
Hey Doc, how about a video on herbs to treat/cure hypothyroid w/o synthetic drugs?

That was amazing, you provide such useful and helpful information 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Awesome video!!! Who knew?? Thank you!
Love your informative videos. I am learning so much. THANK YOU!
FANTASTIC CONTENT. God bless you from your Vermont sister in rural South Australia
Love your videos! Hoping to get to a place to be able to join your school. You're such a great and entertaining teacher.☺
You have a great sense of humor😅
Should you add fresh ground pepper when you make a turmeric root tincture? Would it lose potency too fast, or enhance the tincture? Can dogs safely have black pepper? I put turmeric in their food-add fresh ground pepper-safe? 😊
Thank you doctor for this extremely helpful and important information 🙏
Enjoy your humor, also thks for getting my package here so soon and it was wrapped perfectly. Think my post office here plays kick the packages.
Good excuse to buy more pepper grinders! Where do you get good black pepper
EXCELLENT DOC!! I LOVE LOTS OF PEPPER ANYWAY!
Excellent info I really appreciate it because it can be used in everyday life
Wow, great stuff! My hubby loves black pepper- fresh ground. I will eat more of it and use it to nip illness in the bud. In our early years of marriage I made him “pepper chicken”. It was so hot I’m not sure we even finished it, but now I know it would have been medicinal. Thanks Dr Jones you rock!
Extremely interesting …so wonderful to see these videos we all have missed you …working on my savings gif the school …retirement looks close…want to be totally engrossed in school…never too old to learn as well as care and care for others…thank you stay blessed..
I’ve never liked black pepper or any peppers but I’ll try to add it where I can.
I assume that if black pepper loses its efficacy so quickly after being ground, that the pepper added to ground turmeric would be ineffective.
thanks for sharing. I had heard years ago that it isn't good for us, but it is my favorite and that did not slow my consumption down. haha
My wife and I would love to see a video on Turmeric / Curcumin. Some time ago, she bought a bag of turmeric from you but is holding off using any of it, on concerns about it interfering with her iron uptake, as she struggles with anemia and doesn't want to swap out her inflammation problems for anemia problems.
Great stuff! Thank you! Do you think you could add if these things helps cats, dogs, chickens? I look forward to taking your class this fall!
Thank you for the video! I have never been able to eat pepper in any form, without bad headaches leading to migraine. I've always thought it was capsaicin, because ginger and cinnamon give me a really huge zing. Is it more likely to be an allergy or a sensitivity? Is there a way to desensitize to it? Even tiny amounts make me have bad headaches. It burns in my mouth as well. Is there anything to be done so that pepper's benefits could help? Relief would be nice...do you know how hard it is to eat in restaurants? Thank you again for sharing your mind and your heart!
I loved this video! I did have a question though. You talk about only using it fresh, yet you sell it as a tincture on your website. Is the tincture as good as using it fresh? A tincture would last longer I think.
I'm wondering about the grinding process, once the peppercorns at the bottom of the grinder are broken into, is the rest of that peppercorn compromised medicinally? Or does it retain its medicinal qualities inside the partially ground peppercorn?

I want to know that too. I was looking to see if there were any comments about that.
So then, all those turmeric products that have black pepper added to it - it’s just a hype to sell stuff. Thanks, Doc
Do peppers that are whole last indefinitely? Meaning that they don’t lose their potency.
Hmmm I include fresh ground pepper in my tea concoctions. Like Chai Spice or my created Autumn Spice... but now I guess I'll have to leave out the pepper and put the instructions to add fresh ground black pepper.. or include a small bit with it?
What about pink peppercorns (berries) from Schinus molle?
I used to love my turmeric tea. But then, my doctor put me on meds for high bp which kinda put a stop to my tea. 😞
Would this not be useful to make into a tincture?
❤
I have a violent reaction all but the mildest peppers including black pepper. Does piperine work like capsaicin, maybe?
We don't use it, my little one gets itchy bumps on his legs and back.
What about making a tincture?

I listened to another video recently in which he said you can make black pepper tincture to increase shelf life, but I think it was for 6 mths, not indefinitely. I'll try to find it and point you to it. I'm wondering if you should grind it before tinturing, or leave the peppercorns whole.
I was taking turmeric for inflammation. I found out I was anemic and in a fb group for anemia, people were saying that turmeric inhibits iron absorption. Is this true or something to worry about? I stopped taking it for now.

I have read this, and I struggle with low iron. I have some powdered turmeric that I bought from Doc Jones, but I haven't used it yet. I'm scouring the internet to try to find more info about what the threshold is - how much can you take, and how often, without interfering with your iron levels - and so far I'm not finding anything. I have chronic back issues, and I bought the turmeric hoping to be able to replace the ibuprofen with it. I hope someone answers you.

I am curious now too if it interferes with iron too. For back aches etc. have you heard of using mullein? Ask your provider about mullein (I am not a doctor/herbalist).
