James Rhodes was the first to replace Tony in the comics and wore the armor through the original Secret Wars.

@@leonardpigg6441 I liked him in the Warwear Armor phrase. I'd like to see a Space Armor War with extraterrestrials in it. We've seen E.T. armor, from Darkhawk to Turbo (New Warriors). Then there are the Space Knights like Rom and the Nova Corps. The story may revolve around the quest to find the source or manufacturer of the ship from which the Manderian's 'rings' came. The conflict starts between the E.T. worlds and Earth. Rhodes gets this information from SHIELD, sidestepping Stark. He and a small team are sent out to locate and, if possible, retrieve the 'prize.' Other concerned parties on Earth have also sent their operatives.The Inhumans have made a deal with the Russians and sent their operatives to seek the prize. Rhodes knows there is something SHIELD isn't telling him (as usual.) On the flip side, he predicts his conversation with Tony when he returns will be uncomfortable, to say the least, considering he was left out of the loop. But Rhodes had felt something was 'off' lately before he was briefed and recruited for the mission. He can't put his finger on it. That, along with the acute skin rash that has affected his body lately, and has him grumpy and uncomfortable. To add to his misery, he keeps having nightmares of his military service. Something that he hasn't suffered from in years. The dreams can't be described as flashbacks; they are more like 'flashforwards.' He's decided to see a specialist when he gets back. But these flashforwards have become more frequent lately. Initially, they were for a few seconds. But as he gets closer to his team's destination in the galaxy, they begin to last longer, and he can't hide it from the crew. His co-leader has noticed but hasn't said anything because he expected this to happen to Rhodes. SHIELD is using Rhodes as a "divining rod" that should help lead them to the prize. This co-lead was briefed and re-briefed to follow the mission parameters and not inform Rhodes of the hypothesis. Rhodes knows his co-lead by reputation but has yet to work with him directly. The co-leaders name is G.W. Bridge! The other members include a disabled and resentful yet brilliant Engineer. Rhodes inwardly thinks that it was poor planning to have a disabled operative on a combat mission, but even Rhodes has to admit that this sullen man has 'skills.' Another team member has remained virtually silent during the mission and was called "Mr. K" by the rest of the crew. He has a machine-like voice and huge armored arms. Rhodes thinks he may be a cyborg of some kind and his bionic arms appear more advanced than anything tony has created. At times he's seen Mr. K reconfigure his appear's appearance, almost like liquid metal. The third most experienced member is relatively new to multi-member team dynamics, having been a loner for most of his professional career with SHIELD. His name is Charles Little Sky. He is a proven commander in the field and the only other person who believes something is 'off' with the mission. He is resentful that he wasn't chosen to lead the mission. Still, he's under the impression that his mutant abilities may be the sole reason he was assigned-something very concerning and interesting. The other member is a mid-level SHIELD lieutenant. She and the disabled engineer have been working on some equipment that she claims is a new SHIELD space suit. Rhodes doesn't buy it. In fact, Rhodes recognizes some of the components they are working on. It appears to be a revamped version of the "Savage Steel" armor. Which Rhodes finds strange. That armor was supposedly destroyed and obsolete long before criminals employed it. This agent's [legal] name is Tristram Silver. Her birth name is Valeria Toomes. The very last member of the team was a last-minute replacement. He's considered a hero by racists and a monster by others. Rhodes protested his inclusion, but Bridge convinced him he was needed for this mission. He explained that this guy known as the X-cutioner was their trick card, so to speak. Halfway through the mission, this 'guy' removes his armor and helmet. His captivating smile and blue dimples give her up as a mutant. The look on Rhodes' face gave everyone on the team a much-needed fun moment. The only person who didn't laugh was Mr. K. In fact, he 'shoots' daggers at Rhodes. The young lady prefers to be called Vanessa, but the mutant world and Deadpool know her as Copycat. With that, they are on their way. And Rhodes, for the first time in a very long time, wonders, "Why did he ever agree to put on that Iron Man armor so many years ago?" In reality, SHIELD wants the prize as a failsafe against any and all Stark armor. After Fall of X and the Iron Sentinal fiasco, they feel a more deadly Armor Wars may start up again. This time, ALL humans will be at risk. The Inhumans believe this as well for other reasons and have convinced the russians that it would be in their best interests to purse the prize before SHEILD. Regardless the Inhumans will not allow any of the lower races to retain the armor or live through the mission.

Maybe he will re-form the New Warriors. Everyone needs a second chance; he's had multiple ones and always came through. Who better to lead? God help them if there are any Skrulls on the team.

Unfortunately, there was so much backlash from the anti-woke crowds during the last iteration of the team that they all but vanished from every writer's desk. I wish they had been included in the story as a redemption arc, especially considering that Jubilee and Firestar are both New Warriors. Night Thrasher's on-again and off-again girlfriend Silhouette is a mutant, her brother Midnight's Fire is a mutant, Night Thrasher's half-brother Bandit is a mutant, and Namorita is kind of a mutant. The Warriors never make the distinction, that is why they are better in spirit than the other top tier teams like the Avengers and the X-Men. And they are my personal favorite of all the teams in both Marvel and DC. You never know they may make a comeback

Good take Mister J^2, but the Avengers should have been into this mess at least some months ago... 3D man was more significant because he's black and he's with orchis and stuff... 🤔 Jay Jay... We already talked about this being a mess... A hasty run for the from the ashes soon... I HOPE this will end in a great way for me to get the comics... A full volume please.... The art is good tho.

Another big let down....Thor is a very powerful god....since that's the case, tell me what human can produce any machine that can fight a god as powerful as Thor? And if he ask Odin for his power belt...the game is over. Bring on Nimrod, and that's about it.

I agree with you . The artwork is very nice on the current avengers runs . The fall of x feels rushed though overall . It's started strong with Stasis trying to achieve dominion with mutants fighting to the last . Seeing Emma 🪦 in her diamond form with ripped arm with Nimrod and Omega Sentinel overlooking at her ,Gambit sacrificing himself ,Mistique dying also and the artwork in that first issue kinda reminded me of rise and powers of x ,then gradually the stories kinda started declining and being rushed . Ironman was interesting though with Emma and Tony as a couple with a good artwork on top 👌.X-MEN Red was killing it but the last issue kinda ended rushed . Resurrection of Magneto was also very good both in story and artwork ,exept the last issue was a quick wrap up and it felt rushed after having 3 banger issues ,but it was a great run overall . They should have left the writers cook and finish the books properly . I'm looking forward to X-MEN's issues for bloodhunt event :Psylocke,Magik,jubilee,wolverine,x23 .

Uh, did I miss something with Captain Marvel? Who is this Una character? I haven’t followed her book in years (I liked her more as Binary.), so I assume that it’s something related to her series .

Leave it to the Black Panther. He CAN be Mary Sueish at times, though .

@@coreythomas3633 - Oh, YEAH! Bruce is even WORSE! BUUT they pretty much made T'challa Batman , anyway. Did you ever read the Christopher Priest run? I liked it (I think that it is considered the defining Panther run.), but I think that this stuff really started with him.

Hardcore, somewhat predictable, but no less enjoyable. Still, I would have picked Mimic as the traitor-in-charge. No complaints.

Idont mean to criticize, but the artwork is average; The Avengers should have better artwork.
