They aren't very good at timelines. Noriega was in custody before the end of December 1989. I only nitpick because Noriega was operation "just cause" or as all of us there called it "justcuz" and then in 1991 I deployed to Iraq for the gulf War 2 years after Noriega and after mount pinatubo erupted and the ash destroyed the bases we were staging from.

He could still appear as his mentor.

It wouldn't make sense for it to be David since he would be 11-12 at the time of the Gulf War, Mason would be MIA canonically since he was shot by Woods just 2 years earlier(or he could be operating under a new name given to him by the CIA since we don't really know what he was doing from 1989-2025 and I doubt he was just hiding in a shed in Panama), so it could potentially be Adler or someone else.

If I were to take an educated guess I would say something secret for example maybe he was helping 141 fight Makorov and other operations I mean mw3 2023 to 2025 is 2 years away a lot can happen in 2 years but don’t take my word it’s just a guess

It wouldnt surprise me if we see a young Sheppard before he becomes general. Perhaps we might play as him and hopefully tie everything together marking the end of the early black ops era and beginning of the modern warfare era

It would make sense considering that maybe we see zakeav again and maybe they show price’s grandfather during his last mission? I think this campaign would explain a lot of what happened during the events of the gulf war, but also what zakeav was doing before cod 4. This campaign could be the best one we’ve had since bo1, hopefully it’s more than 8 hrs

I'm not entirely sure about Gulf War but I bet Treyarch's next game will be set during the Global War on Terror and we will likely see characters from the MW series in that game.

If the first mission is "Suffer with me", I'm gonna love it.

They have the perfect opportunity to do a fighter mission like BF3 (the graphics with this engine should look great). During Operation Package Q Strike, an F-16C pilot managed to escape from several missiles trying to hit him. There's also the attack on the Iraqi capital with the F-117 destroying the command centers.

Woods rolling around the battlefield on a wheelchair (bro got buckshot to the knee), holding an assault rifle wont do much

Yeah, it won't be David unless they do some serious reconning, which I think they kinda are anyways. I think Modern Warfare (2019) was meant to act as a soft reboot of the CoD Universe. They're cherry-picking elements from past games, but the whole timeline is different. Back to the point, if David was born in 1979 that'd mean he was 11-12 in the years 1990-1991. So he'd be 17 years old in 1996 and not joining the Navy SEALs. He'd barely be old enough to start the paperwork to enter the military.

Ryan Jackson is also a reference to Jack Ryan, a book and TV Show name for the main character, Jack Ryan. Much like Jackson, Ryan works for the CIA as an Acting Deputy Director in the TV Show made by Amazon Prime. but before being an Acting Deputy, he was a financial analyst. We only see Ryan Jackson's signature throughout the series I've been keeping my eye on Ryan Jackson so to say that I'm hype for this would be an understatement.

Nice theory, but Ryan Jackson (as I think) cannot be the main character in BOGW. Because, intel from level Project Nova says that he worked for the OSA (CIA later) since 1948. So, he was approximately 60 years old during the Gulf War.

If Ryan Jackson is to be brought back, I need Yuri Lowenthal to voice him again...

Well we know it’s not Mason because he got shot by woods in the suffer with me mission in black ops 2 and he can either be killed or saved in the bo2 campaign and woods can’t be the protagonist either because he lost his legs in the same mission

Hope they really do put adler in there

I love Woods and Mason as much as everybody else, but I really don't think they'd make for good main characters for a game centering around the Gulf War. Mason would be 57 and Woods would be 60 (and also can't walk). Adler would be a little younger, around 53, but still I think this time period is just a bit too far past the generation that they were part of. And I really do think Woods and Mason and Adler are great characters but I think they've kind of played out their stories at this point. And since we know Adler is in the game I think they'd serve a better role as a consultant or a higher-up within the CIA at the time of Gulf War. But I really think for this title they'd be better off going with a whole new cast of main characters to focus on. However, I do believe the 'Ratcliffe' you mentioned is a good candidate for a major character for the SAS. And if that is true it's possible we'll be using two different perspectives throughout the game just like with COD 4, an SAS unit for one story and likely a CIA team or possibly a group of Marines attached to a CIA team on the other.

I expect to see General Ghorbrani in Gulf War, the general you eliminate in the first mission of MW II. A potential crossover like Zakhaev and Kravchenko.

If David Mason joined the SEALs in ‘96 he was already in the military prior to that. Can’t just go right into the SEALs.

@@g3tshotheett exactly. So that’s enlistment, to BUDS, time as a “regular” SEAL, and then graduating Green Team, then going through selection. So by ‘96 he’s probably already been in for 5+ years and already likely done multiple combat deployments.

This is my opinion but mw3 was kinda L yeah they did bring back all the og maps but the campaign is not horrible. were paying 70$ idk i thought id put in my opinion.

Most of all, I want to see David Mason as the main character. In his time, there were really huge conflicts (early 2000s). It would be cool if there were two time periods in the campaign: 1990s and 2000s, but only time will tell.

Maybe Adler pretended to kill bell to cover it up .

We better see David Mason meet Harper for the first time.
