I was sold the day of the debut trailer all the way back in 2020 and the wolf with the flaming staff boss retains the same moves, and even a couple extra moves that he did in that trailer all those years ago, and boy does it look improved from then as well, especially those flame and smoke effects. 👀 Day one for me.

And I am still just in awe of the fact that they kept the exact same wolf fight from the first debut trailer with the flaming staff and kept his moveset the same too, made it not only look better like the rest of the game but added some new moves as well. But that black bear fight just looked so dope for real, all the bosses really look either fun to fight or just straight badass. Wukong looks like he’s gonna be so much fun to combo and chain together just all different kinds of combat flow into the gameplay, from stances, transformations, spells you name it. Literally can’t wait for this game.

Great video! Just wanted to point out that the game does have a block/parry system. One of few ways we’ve seen players parry enemy attacks is through a light-heavy combo in Smash Stance, which has a mechanic similar to GP (guard point) in Monster Hunter. You can see this happen at 1:22, 2:46, 3:04, 4:36, and a few more places in the video. “Stone Solid” is another block/parry ability that’s been revealed. In previous demos, it was also shown that certain bosses (like the Macaque Chief) have the ability to parry player attacks as well.

@@djbpresents9584 The main reason for S being this bad is just lacking RAM, if they give it a 16GB RAM same as X, all games will be so easy to work on it, e.g., Black Myth Wukong can be played on a relatively low end PC with 16GB.

Just remember, the fact that these devs put their foot down agaisnt SBI is more than enough reason to buy this

I think the fact that XSS has less hUMA memory than XSX is Microsoft's most fatal strategic mistake this generation, other performance gaps can be solved by lowering the resolution or FPS, but lack of RAM is lack for good. The minimum standard for the PC version released by GameScience is GTX1060, but the RAM requirement is 16g and VRAM is 6g, which is far more than the 10g that XSS can provide (while 2g set for the system).

@@rinaa6865 In last year's offline trial event in Hangzhou, the lowest platform used GTX1660s, and the FPS was stable at 45-55. Now their minimum PC requirement has reached 1060. I think there is no need to worry about PS5 at least.

Thanks for the review. Small nitpicking: it's heavily hinted that the main character you play is not wukong, but the "destined one" (no one knows who he is yet) and the story happens many years after the events of JTTW.

Kudos to the devs for standing their ground with D.I.E. Seriously want to support it just for that. Edit: It's not on Xbox so I can't support it right now.

[FYI] Whoever random person out there that curious about the lore of Wukong or basically Journey to the West... I am Asian, Southeast Asian actually that will give u brief explaination. Maybe you are unaware about the lore or story because you are european or anywhere. Okay lets go. Wukong is a monkey that born from Stone. Hence his former name was Stone Monkey. After he can climb and enter the Fruit Cave Waterfall Mountain, He become the Monkey King. Later he live peacefully with his monkey folks: Partying, partying everyday until someday one of the elder monkey die. Die normally. But that Stone Monkey got a existensial crisis that in the end of the day, anyone who life will die. He didnt want to die. Some of elder suggest him to seek a knowledge of immortality from the sage in the nowhere knows. Stone Monkey then decided to find it anyway with his raft, he travel the ocean living his peacefull cave. Then shortly he found the Sage. Three times, Stone Monkey rejected but he dedicated and stay until the Sage receive him as a student. Then the Sage aggree to accept him. Stone Monkey gain a name Wukong with the family name Sun. Hence his fully name is Sun Wukong. Sun means "Monkey", Wukong means "Awarenss of the emptiness". In that school, Wukong befriend other student from humans, godlings, beastlings alike and learn how to write, talk, etc. Basic kind of things. After years there he dissapointed that this is not what he seek. So he angry at class & want his master to give him other knowledge. His Master scold him & beat him three times with stick. Wukong smart, three times is actually hidden secret from his master to meet him at 3 am in his quarter. So, Wukong go there and his master praise him to be the smart one. The Master then give Wukong option of knowledge like Medicines, Fighting, etc. But Wukong don want all of them. He just want the knowledge of immortality. So his master give hime the Knowledge of 72 Magic Transformation, yeah its immortality too. So Wukong agree and learn it. After he earn the knowledge he become pride. He transform to many things to annoy his friend and the last tranform into his master. His master caught him doing that & scold him. Very angry that banish him from the school and let Wukong going back to his home. So Wukong cried & ask forgiveness and doing kowtow (prostrate) 3 times to his master. And his master forgive but still banish him and threat him not to tell anyone that he is the master that give him the 72 Magic Transfomation Knowledge because his master knew the future that this monkey will wreak havoc, in earth hell & heaven. So Wukong promise not to tell anyone because he really scared because if he tell, the master can find him anywhere & slice him into many pieces. Yes, his master is more powerfull than him. So, shortly he going back to his kingdom with special power: Flying Cloud. Yeah cloud like in Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball copied it actually 😂 So when he came back, his cave are colonized by beast. With his new power he defeat them all easily and soon the boss of the beast came out: The Ox King. They duel each other, and draw. They both like each other. So both become friends & soon make a vow to become sworn brother. Ox King tell Monkey King to find a weapon that suit his martial prowess, he suggest to ask the Dragon King of Eastern Seas. So he went there. The Dragon King give him many option of weapon but many of then break & suit the Monkey. But Wukong eyes sees the glamour elegant big pillar in the palace. He really like that. Its a pillar that hold the ocean. But when he touch it, the pillar go small like normal staff but its really really heavy. Wukong use it like staff, play with it causing the ocean tremble. Tsunami & earthquake errupt because of that. Wukong really like the staff & the staff also choose Wukong. Even can be small like toothpick and can be hide inside his ear. Dragon King annoyed with Wukong but scared, so he decided to banish him politely with give him a cool Armored outfit of general. Wukong love it, use it, & go home. In the cave he pride & show off his new weapon & outfit to his folks & his new brother Ox King. After that, they are partying again. Every day. Until Wukong asleep. Then two angel from hell call Wukong's Soul to Hell. Yeah, that day Wukong actually dead. So Wukong enter the hell. Angry because Wukong already learn the knowledge of the immortality he beat all the angel guardian & burn all the book of the monkey's death date, even himself. Making all immortal & immune to death. Bullying the Yama, King of the Hell too. Then go back to his cave. The Dragon King of Eastern Seas & The Hell King later goes to Heaven, report to Jade Emperor about the tragedy and ask the Heaven Sky to punish this Stupid Monkey. So Jade Emperor aggree but one of the God minister disagree. He propose some peacefull approach with recruiting this monkey a position in the Heaven. Because this monkey is a beast but potentially become a God. That good minister God have good reason, Wukong dont have parents so thats why become like that. Jade Emperor aggree and want to show mercy and ask Gods ministry if there any job for this Monkey. There is no job except Horse Guardian. Then that Good God become a messenger to recruit Wukong. And Wukong agree to become Horse Guardian God. He didt now the hierarchy that time, he still think, he become God, its so pride. At first, Wukong enjoy become there. And everyone happy until Heaven have a party. Many gods are invited but Wukong not. Why he is not, he is still asking. Here he meet General Tien Peng (One of Great Heavenly General that later become his comrade, Zhu Bajie, The Pig 😅). Tien Peng scold him that Horse Guardian are low rangking officer god, so not invited. Angry Wukong fight Tien Peng. Both powerfull, but Wukong are winning and Tien Peng flee. Angry, Wukong going back to his cave. Because his ego, he declare himself a Chi Tien Tasen or "Monkey King that Equal Heaven". Or simply just Heaven Monkey King. But that title make Heaven angry because its claiming the throne of the Jade Emperor. So the war already begin again. But good god back then propose again the peacefull act. He propose to recruit again Wukong as a Heaven Monkey King but in name only. No authority or whatsoever. Just keep him in check. Jade Emperor aggred & that good god goes to Wukong again. Wukong happily accept that position and gaining his own complex cluster in the Heaven. Just like puppet king. He happy there. Everyday he play, partying with other gods. Jade Emperor annoyed with his attitude so ordered him to guard a peach garden. In Peach Garden, Wukong ask the Queen's Girlmaid why the peach are reap. The girlmaid said there is a party banquet of Queen. Again, Wukong ask is he invited. The answer still no. Its really make him angry even more. He eats all the peach. Peach is very magic fruit, 1 bite you can live very long time, eat it a whole you will live as long sky & earth. Basically immortal. After that, Wukong back again to his cave. Jade Emperor very angry & send the Heaven Army to catch & punish the Monkey bandit. Th war begins. Wukong, The Heaven Monkey King joined by the Ox King and other beast... Fight againts the Heaven. Many gods lost to Wukong. Some prevail such as Nazha, Jiling, but still Wukong have the advantage. Nazha ask Wukong where he get this powerfull ability, Wukong just answered he learn himself. Remembering his promise to his master not to tell anyone. Then, Jade Emperor send his nephew, Erlang, The Three Eye God. This is where Wukong lost. He caught and send to the trial. He executed by beheading but heaven weapon sky are broken, with thunder lashed he immuned to that. So they keep Wukong into Magic fire pit jar for 40 days hoping that he will melted. Surprise, Wukong break the jar with new power 😂 Fire Eyes, that can see through illusion. He kick the jar & fall to the earth (later this will cause him a karma 😂 i will explain). Then Wukong wreak havoc in the heaven, and all gods no match of him. Even Jade Emperor got scared, and called Buddha. Buddha came & make a bet with Wukong. If he is pride of his power, jump in his palmhand. If he can, he can become the Jade Emperor. If not, he is losing. Because of his egi, Wukong agreed and thinks that jump so much easy. So he goes to Buddha's palmhead & jump. After that he reach Five Pillar of the Universe. So he take a piss one of i & make a sign in the tallest pillar "Heaven Monkey King was here" so he can show it to Buddha. Unbeknown to him, he is still in the Buddha's Palmhand. Realising it that he is losing, he want to flee but cant. Buddha strike him with his Plam and boom its become a mountain. The Monkey that wreak havoc in there, trapped for 500 years. Huft this is the brief story of Wukong. And yes, this before he meets his Bhiksu master & three more disciple brother. One of them Tien Peng that he is already meet on heaven. 😂

Pc. Xbox is the worst console to own.(There is no point in owning Xbox when every Xbox game is released on pc day one)

There are blocking mechanism, just not there yet in the early game

Ok im 41 and love gaming, the issue i have is the Souls games and other titles like Nioh are just too hard. man are they difficult. Does this game have a option to lower difficulty because if it does id buy it 100% if not i dont thing i will.

You can upgrade your skills by killing mobs and exploring the map. Certain skills or abilities can significantly reduce the difficulty, such as second life, immobilization, clone, invisibility, and reduced dodge consumption.

@@karl343 yes, I watched all the video, both youtube and chinese media, this game will be easier than souls like. And, the creators of this game are actually famous for the plot. The plot is one of the most attractive contents of their games, so they will hide all the information about the plot. All the media participating in the test signed a confidentiality agreement to avoid leaking some important plots, mechanisms, etc. The parts released are actually the parts that the creators think are not the most exciting. Therefore, you can look forward to the plot of the game.

@@t_tmad5293 I've met peers that think it's the opposite, and that holds for practically everything within that sphere. Not their fault really, social influence and years of propaganda warp reality. And just bc you know, doesn't mean others see the 'attribution' - I would it rather "based on the ancient tales and traditions of the Chinese people", they are basically the last standing formidable 'tribe' as far as high tales and fantastic explanations/mythical creatures being the cause for phenomena, where exo factions have often presented slightly obscured variations of the same tales as original. That's all.

So phenomenal that it can't even function well enough on the series S to let them release it on the series x at launch.

Don't take this a certain but ive heard there may be a public demo in july but till its released or confirmed by the devs take with a pinch of salt

i am learning english, i found there are too many uncommonly used words in this video like bombast,foes etc...i wanna know do people really use these words if needed for expressing respective senses in everyday conversation or they are only used in narratives

I thought this game was being delayed on XBOX and will start off as a PS5 exclusive...Oh, and your video started off with a DOOM Dark Age commercial...I keep seeing this commercial even though the game isn't coming out till late 2025...Why advertise so heavily now?
