That was sketchy!!!!!! That ladder!!! Holy cow! I knew we didn't lose you in this rescue because it was posted but my goodness! From a little, questionable beam, to the shaky unsupported ladder with a wild mamba wrapped around your arm. NERVES or STEEL!!!! You are one tough cookie!!! Plus a hero to boot! Hahaha. Thanks Amanda. Luckily I had investigated the entire roof a few days prior, so I was pretty comfortable with that specific beam, because it had held my full weight that day 😊 The ladder seems sketchy, but it's really strong and I know I can trust it. Ok, this one takes the cake for me in terms of sheer agility employed in catching this mamba - balancing on the very top rung of your ladder, perched on the beam, hands tied up trying to get the mamba to let go of the trusses - incredible. Did you poo yourself a little when the top rungs of the ladder collapsed a bit?! I did! Hate when ladders self-adjust when you're balancing on them. Nice one again, thanks for posting!

You must have Nerves of Steel Jason, cuz Mambas, Spitting Cobras and Boom Slangs ain't no joke. Americans are blessed they don't have those Nightmares here. Most of our Venomous Snakes are strictly Ground Dwellers. But a lot of the African species are Climbers and very Deadly

Quite right Chris. Our snakes don't only venture through open doorways or through gaps under closed doors. They come through windows, air-bricks, air-conditioners, toilets, roofs etc. Quite a recipe for a nightmare if you aren't keen on snakes 🙈🙈🙈😜🙈👍🏻👍🏻
You did quite well, until the ladder moved! Man you have nerves of steel! You said, it can't see you coming, but it can hear you coming, it doesn't rely on hearing? It seemed very helpful, by wrapping around your arm as you came down from the rafters! How do you tell age on a snake? It sounded like heavy breathing, for a hiss! Great video as always! Have a good day!👍🐍

Yeah. Damn ladder almost gave away my position 🙈 Luckily snakes don't hear, but it should have definitely felt the vibration of the ladder slip with me on it. Luckily it didn't or it would have definitely shot off out the roof and into the trees 🙈🙈🙈 You can't accurately tell the age of a snake. I just estimate based on experience with keeping them and seeing their growth rates over the years. But my guess is probably relatively close ☺️👍🏻 You have a great day too, Eva ☺️👍🏻
Deadly snake, precarious position, on a ladder...yeah, this is the job for Jason! Great job, bro! Way to stay cool up the ladder while grabbing the mamba's tail! Oh my goodness!! I can’t watch the ladder part-looks unsafe.
This building should be condemned. Its not fit for habitation let alone running a business. Nice catch!

Yeah. Very very old building. Still very much structurely sound, but just not looking in good shape. Thank you 🙏🏻👍🏻💪🏻
Beautiful snake. Question, is his mouth open because you squeeze the head, or because he is ready to bite?
@jasonarnold-snakeman

Hi Jeff. No, it's not because of my grip at all. It's just because Mambas want to always be ready to deliver a quick bite if you mess up and allow it the opportunity.🙈🙈

Yeah I did reply. Damn thing deleted 🙈🤦🏻♂️ In most cases a Mamba bite will take somewhere between 2 and 6 hours to kill an adult. There are so many things that influence the time though. The patient's size, weight, age, health, fitness levels, health issues, as well as the position of the bite. A bite into a fatty area would take longer to absorb than say a bite on a foot or hand where there's a lot more blood vessels. Some people might have a severe allergy to proteins in the venom and this can lead to a much quicker death, from anaphylactic shock. This is however, very unusual and normally people that work with snakes and have developed the allergy over a long period of time, through any type of exposure to the venom.
Great videos have u ever been bitten or had a very close call

Hi J Thanks for that 🙏🏻💪🏻👍🏻 I've had many, many close calls as well as a few bites and hospital visits. My last hospital visit that involved a snake bite, was in Feb 2002 when I was bitten by a Black Mamba. Appreciate your message and support 🙏🏻👍🏻👌🏻💪🏻

Hi, I don't generally. Unless it's a real emergency and Neville and his network of catchers up that way are not available. You can save his number - Neville Wolmerans 0825614969 💪🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
the donkey smelled the snake on your hands, didn't want anything to do with a mamba
I don’t like these ones where you’re in a sketchy position. My husband said he’s glad there are guys like you to do that because he never would! I’m certain he’s not the only person thankful for you w your services!!

Just to fine tune the language, what does,"just gone ten of ten", mean? I would think that's 9:50am but What does Just gone mean and is of meaning "before". We tend to just say the time, we know if it's am or pm in most cases, but we might say it's a quarter after, 11 but not 14 after, we just say 11:14. So quarter and half hours might be said in a similar manner but otherwise it's quickest to just say noon or twelve. I love learning, so I hope no one chooses to be offended.

Wait, did you say, "holding thumbs"? If so will you tell me what that means or why one would say it?
@jasonarnold-snakeman
Жыл бұрын
Hi Amanda. I said "It has just gone ten to ten". This means the time has just turned ten minutes to ten. So yes, 09h50 😊 And "holding thumbs" is an expression we use to basically say that we hope things remain okay. For example - We are going to the beach tomorrow. Hold thumbs that the weather remains good.

@@jasonarnold-snakeman Good to know, thank you. We would say, cross your fingers (the pointer and middle), yet, if someone does the same when talking to someone or making a promise, they are lying. Like say mom asked, did you brush your teeth? Child says yes, while crossing fingers behind their own back. It's like it makes it not a lie. These are not things believed but still the sayings and doings get passed down sometimes. It's silly that ours means two different things. Hold thumbs that you never get bitten by a hot snake during a rescue!! Thank you for sharing that information with me. Now I want to ask my (Aussie) husband if they have a similar saying to "fingers crossed" or "hold thumbs" 🙃
@jasonarnold-snakeman
Жыл бұрын
We also use the fingers crossed one. What about the phrase "touch wood" ? We will use this term when we say something and realize we might have just "jinxed" ourselves. Like "Wow, we haven't been sick for ages" Then we will say "Touch Wood" and if there is wood nearby (tree), we will touch it. Have you heard of this one ?
hi, just a suggestion, the camera man should keep the camera on the snake more than on yourself. Thanks

Hahaha. Thanks Chris. In this instance there was no cameraman. I had set the camera up on a tripod and thought I had all the angles covered during the capture. My bad 🙈🙈🙈💪🏻👍🏻
