For those who don't know what a hard/soft dog is, it has to do with their response to a correction. A very soft dog will cower when the handler gives it a stern no. A very hard dog can take a hard physical correction and keep doing what it wants to do no matter what the handler says. Either dog can be friendly or not.

omg... I bought a random black puppy off a couple that didn't speak english 2 years ago and it ended up being a black malinois and has been the best dog i've ever had. It took me over a year until someone told me what they thought it was. This is the first breeder/trainer I've seen that does the black specifically. Which I think is amazing bc I love my black one and want another!

We had one. She was the best mama and protector of our family. We sadly lost her last month. She was hit and run over by a 4 wheeler. She was 2.5 years old. Fearless, smart as a whip intelligent, lightening fast, unmeasurably loving. RIP Juice Dog.

Love them Mals. Noticed the black Mals seem heavier and longer. Their ears don't seem as long as the other colors. Beautiful dogs all.

Living in a state that hates guns, the malinois is a great alternative and very effective if needed. I have one and my "Atlas" is my best friend next to my wife.

I have an all black 8 month old Malinois puppy and I have never seen as much drive in any other dog than I do with him.

I am loving these videos they always highlight my evenings. Keep them coming Zeke.

I recently rescued a 2 year old, black female Malenois. She has a white dragon on her chest.

I have a blue Dutch shepherds/black mal cross, 75/25. Knpv style. It's nice to see people come together and work these monsters the right way. Mine protected me from a car jacking in santa ynez ca. Keep up the good work.

And now I want another one but I like the black and I like the Dutch shepherd. The blue and greys are so sick. Everyone I hear about is importing dogs and I was wondering where some good breeders are in the states bc I don’t wanna really import.

I have a black malinois 6 months. My Dogo Argentino turned 8 and it was time to bring in a new pup. I Like him a lot. Seems to have what it takes. Still a step down from a Dogo IMO! People are doubting my dog, saying no all black malinois? SMH purest are some closed minded people!

Most likely because black "malinois" is not a malinois. It's a mixed breed of of Belgian groenendael and Belgian malinois.

I just watch your video and hear you talk about Malcolm and the dogs and I wish I was in your neighborhood bro I'm really really impressed you know I love dogs too I'm new to malinois trying to train my dog in the sport she's about 1 1/2 year old you know I'm doing a lot of socialization lot of training I do go to a you know a guy who helps me out with the bite work but I'm really impressed I got a late start because of the pandemic couldn't find a club that would accept me in my neighborhood almost started my own club but I'm such a rookie not yet but I appreciate what you're doing keep doing what you're doing and if I'm ever out that way I'm definitely gonna stop by

The FCI does not recognize the black coloration as a “true Malinois”. Belgian Malinois comes in several colors or a mix of them such as fawn, sable, red, brown and black

I adopted a "shepherd mix" from the shelter, turns out she's a black belgian mal. She's absolutely the best, no issues at all. Still, it seems a previous owner abused her and she can be very timid. Wish I knew a way to reverse that a little.

Me too her previous owners told us she was a GSD mixed with a Belgian Malinois but looking at her now comparing her to other black Belgian she looks like a black Belgian Malinois to me.

Got a black mal and he's hard af. 2 years in and we are continuung to figure it out but my god, have mercy on anyone who walks up behind me by accident. Great dog but not for anyone who doesn't have a spare 4 hours a day

This can be great for some but not for me. That is why I love me my Cane Corso. It does everything I need it to do. Great natural guard dog, amazing outdoors companion, had it at an apartment for first 2 years w/o a problem, crate trained, loves to go in it even when not told to do so, now in a home she loves to patrol every bit of it, affectionate and gentle around my kids. She is now 5 y/o, and kids are now 16, 14, and 2. Adapted to new baby with much affection, learns new routines, structure and tricks fast. Protective and aware on walks but listens to commands and can be left off leash w/o issues. Not dog aggressive due to socialization but does not back down when punk dogs come by. Active outdoors but chilled indoors, barks on command but when she barks on her own it is loud and it is because something is going on or is not right, does well on long car rides, jumps to the trunk of a lifted jeep w/o issues, amazing when camping and outdoors, keeps up with our bike rides for as long as we do it. We live in Colorado and she does well in summer months and winter. The snow does not bother her at all, she actually loves to run and play in it as long as you let her. No need to put on extra layers or so. Again, just an amazing all around dog/breed. She is around 95 pounds.

It’s more than likely just from some Groenendael up the lineage. Or a dutchie. That Belgian has a very “Belgian” head though so I’d bet Groenendael

@@wholesome122 I agree with you. I would also add that a lot of Malinois do have working line German Shepherd mixed in. The true German Shepherd. It's sad I have to add the prerequisite of working line because people are breeding these god-awful show line Shepherds that resemble nothing like what the original German Shepherd was supposed to be!

Many Malinois dogs have German Shepherd mixed in. The original German Shepherd though, the working line. The show line shepherds are sad representations of the breed and should not be considered the true German Shepherd anymore
