I believe the Black label is a starting whisky which JW has to offer and the red label is just an affordable option they have put out so that many people can buy it as a product of JW because the rest of the whiskies are on the expensive side

You may like to go through the history of Johnny Walker. There you would see that Red Label started much earlier than Black Label. Johnny Walker has always been one of the largest selling scotch world wide

Someone loves Samosa somen goes with Rasogolla. It's not about price, it's about the palate you prefer. I have my cellar full of Black Labels and Ballentines and I keep those for my friends who love those. My first budget scotch is Red Label. I prefer Laphroaig more than Macallan or Lagavulin. It's not about the price. It's all about individual's taste. If I want that smoke and spice I'd prefer a Burboun like JD or Jim Beam. You are right in your opinion. Liked and subscribed. Would love to see more from you.

Please compare teachers 50, 100 piper and Black Dog.

Red is not a bad scotch whisky at all. For its price and taste you can put it in the same category as Teachers , 100 pipers and Black Dog. It can't be really compared with Black label 12 years old for its a young whisky and often less smoky and more grainy. But a good whisky nonetheless for your budget scotch . You got more money buy black , a bit more buy Green or double black . And if you are rich enough buy Blue .

In Chandigarh Red label is around 1200 Rs.

Right ,almost no difference, but you feel the difference in double black ..you feel the smoke in all the scotch but smoothness is different in higher brands
