Music should be enjoyed by everyone regardless of race. Just because a certain race created that genre that doesn't mean it's exclusively thiers to enjoy. Black people can enjoy metal. Don't believe me? Howard Jones from Killswitch Engage is one of the best metalcore vocalist that I've known.

The real MVP is the drummer.

I love this. I hate to make everything a race issue, but I'm a black woman and I really like heavy metal. I love neoclassical metal and the musicians who play this type of music! These are my favorite genres, though many will list neoclassical metal as a sub of heavy metal.

Maybe it's because despite metal having its roots in traditionally 'black' music, and the metal community being largely inclusive, black metal fans (I mean black people who are fans of metal, not people who are fans of black metal) are kinda rare, so it's unusual to see a young black person enjoying the genre.

+Rhys Jackson maybe but it's our own choice whether to swallow it or not. He's a great guitar player , he's a young black kid and he's a street performer . All legit ways to describe him. How come the USA can celebrate its "first black president" and that's Ok but you can't say "check out this awesome black kid shredding on guitar?" Anyway.. Peace out mah nigga :D

Dude that's sick! I'm white and I'd go grab my 7 sting and amp and ask him if I can jam with him! Race doesn't matter, lil dude can play. The best thing is, he's playing an instrument. Which takes skill and practice. Something the gamer kids of today will never know. So glad I learned to play when I was younger. Believe it or not, we're a dying breed, but I'm damn happy to be a part of it.
