I greatly appreciate John J. Pershing's vision regarding the so called "racial" problems in America. He inspired my own Commandant, Louis F. Wilson, MoH, who said, "There are no black Marines, there are no white Marines, there are no brown Marines and there are no yellow Marines. Marines are GREEN." I have walked this Earth for 65 years and have only seen one race of people on this planet, humans. If we can all see that reality, regardless of cosmetic differences, then we will be better off for the insight.

You think that genocide of the White race is okay. Whites have made major contributions to civilization. Declaration of Independence is one example of what they did.

@@KangaKucha yes, The town of Columbus, New Mexico The truth of the matter is that Pershing just failed because for once, Villa had lots of support from sympathizers to his cause in the state of Chihuahua where he remained hidden. Plus Villa new the area like the palm of his hand. It may be true that the US joined WWI and the expedition was called off but the fact remains that Pershing had more than enough time to capture Villa and he did not.

From the standpoint that Pershing never captured Villa, he failed. However, Villa never again raided the USA or killed Americans in Mexico. So from that aspect, Pershing succeeded. It must also stated that even though the expedition officially lasted about nine months, for most of it Pershing and company were told to sit tight as the the Americans and Mexican diplomats argued through official channels about the expedition. Carranza used the expedition as a way to try and consolidate power, as he was very unpopular at the time.

How can you even consider yourself a patriotic American when you talk like you're not even on our side?

We were the decisive factor in WWI. WWII we were involved for nearly four full years and the victory in the pacific was mostly because of us. Korea was a draw (China wouldn't let North Korea lose...we wouldn't let South Korea lose). Vietnam, we did eventually give up. Of course it was a proxy war for the communists....the North Vietnamese got supplied by the Soviets and Chinese. Iraq and Afghanistan we more or less gave up in the way that the British gave up on us back in the day. We didn't really DEFEAT them, we outlasted them.

There was a comment earlier about how general Pershing was a great officer, well he wanted W W 1 to drag on into 1919 just so that he could use all of his army to beat the Germans and claim the victory for America. The Australian general Sir John Monash and and the Canadians and New Zealanders had the Germans beaten anyway with a little bit of help from the Americans, who by the way, Pershing did not want fighting under a foreign commander.

Every country (especially English speaking) claims the most credit for the ultimate victory in WWI. The Aussies say they were most responsible, the Canadiens and the British the same.
