'Black Hole Police' Spot Extragalactic Black Hole (ESOcast 255 Light)

Ғылым және технология

The black hole police, a team of astronomers known for debunking black hole discoveries, reported finding a "needle in a haystack". After searching nearly 1000 stars outside our galaxy, they found that one of them has a stellar-mass black hole as a companion. This short video summarises the discovery.

A special thanks to those who toiled in the days when all this data sifting had to be done mannually. They were the base on which all this discovery rests. 🥂

💠It's amazing how these powered telescopes continue to surprise us with New Discoveries of dormant black holes, binaries of stars, orbiting each other in a ballet fashion so quiet, like an artful dance with exact rhythm, each careful step every second. ⚫️

so a star turns in to a black hole but what about his process in reverse. can a black hole after it explodes turn in to a star?

Not really…it ll dissipate over a really large amount of time through Hawking radiation

The quark centers of galaxies, which people mistakenly call black holes, after they synthesize all the stars of their galaxy, always become stars themselves. But after that, the connection of the galaxy with the center of the universe is broken and the galaxy goes into free swimming - hence the collision between galaxies.

The process is not reversible. Nothing, not even light, can escape from a black hole. They do dissipate energy in a very weird way that I cannot explain in simple terms.

@@Priapos93 Light cannot escape from the quark center of galaxies, which is mistakenly called a black hole, because it was never there. Light is a frequency of 10 ^14 - 10 ^15 Hz, and the frequency of quarks is 10 ^32 Hz

This is a sphere of space and time... Can you all just ... give this a second to sink in? A hypersphere of 4 dimensions, 3 of space and 1 of time - that's what a black hole is... This is INSANE... *I N S A N E* ...

Naw, it's just that our brains evolved to provide us with the skills to survive in a 3D environment, while recognizing time (ie predictions). Beyond we critters' daily pursuits, the rest of physics simply functions as it does. What is more incredible to me is that our minds (well, some of us) can work in abstract mathematics and build models that explore phenomena far beyond the pursuit of food, shelter, a mate and other immediacies. We are an amazing animal. It remains to be seen if we ever find an analog elsewhere. The galaxies may be teeming with live, but little beyond single-cell organisms, and even fewer as complex a tree.
