​@GlarusGaming It'd based on the faction... so maybe once they have the Brits as a faction then that's when you'll start hearing the more familiar pirate tunes. They picked shanties based on each's ethnicity and faction.

The word shanty wasn't invented until the 19th century. Pirates had music for entertainment and may have had a work song or two but nothing more has actually been documented.

Funny thing the thing that bugs me the most is that in skull and bones the gunners are like always in combat mode which in Black Flag they relax when just sailing adding to the immersion

@@xenopizza10509 Long story short; in development hell for nearly a decade, restarted development multiple times, the initial reveal was promising but lacked certain features players wanted, the second reveal a few years later had very poor reception, and the most recent showcase had poor reception. Concerns and issues include; a lack of land-based content and combat, repetitive gameplay, too much focus on gathering materials and looting, and limited customization for ship and types of ships.

@@Daniel-cu8gj actually pirate's used any weapons like axes as well as different variants of swords like the saber or cutless like before the golden age of piracy my clan would have used Claymore swords and targe shield when they committed piracy and raided and not forgetting that pirate's from different cultures had there own unique weapons.

Ships physics look so much better in black flag, ships in skull and bones look toyish, however in black flag they look that they actually have the size and weight to them, feels more epic and sublime.

Why the hell would I ever take out the sails from an enemy in skull and bones, if they can spin at like 15 degrees a second while stopped and missing all sails? Whole game is a joke. The ships have no weight behind them, and the machine gun-esque cannon fire pattern is some of the most cringe shit I've ever seen in an age of sail game.

@monarchco It botgers me too, that there is no chain or grape shot and that instead of choosing realistic weakspots for the ships, they added weird flags and what not, which glow red and say "hit here for damage"

@@GlarusGaming it's worth mentioning after I played the skull and bones beta and was utterly disgusted... I found the holy grail ship game. Community is 99% Russian speaking, but the game is fully translated into English. Ship combat is somewhere between potbs and naval action for realism and feel. Ships are realistic, and run from little 7th rates to 1st rates like HMS Victory. Literally the game I've been searching for, for years. Just didn't expect it to be so low profile. Anyways, I'm building a guild for it, and rapidly dragging English speakers in to create an English speaking community and guild for it. Let me know if you'd be interested.

I played and I play both. The view, the sight from the boat, is much better in Black Flag.

Honestly I will say black flag sea shanties sound more realistic and everything so yes black flag all the way buy I do like skull and bones at least more than sea of thieves

I like seeing this comparison but also we have to take in consideration that this is a live service online game not a single player game where loading structures and different assets happen in many different ways also they use shortcuts kind of like in movies to make it “look” really good but it’s hard to implement that into an online game with so many players without any problems. The game is ass tho and there’s no going past that 😂

Black flag looks better, even though it was a clip of a ship drifting through swell on a grey afternoon. They picked a cinematic momentum with lighting and islands for the skull and bones clip in comparison and it still didn’t live up to it’s predecessor.

All they had to do was expand on black flag that's literally it...

If they had just copied black flag, updated the graphics, and made it multiplayer, this game would be goated.

Idk it was possible to ruin n make a worse version of a game you already have the blue prints for all they had to do was add control fleet, wanted posters/ bountys, invasions of forts/islands and it would be prefect. Ouhh NO assassin.

No, you can unlock more ships as you play, but this was filmed in the alpha.

Hey, first of all, thank you for the view and comment. Second, I'm not 100% sure, but I read that Ubisoft wanted to cancel the project and were about to, but they have a contract with the Singapore government, which said that if they cancel it they will sue Ubisoft. so now Ubisoft are trying to "make" the game work so they can get out of that deal.

Sounds like a recipe for a disaster of an overhyped game.

Love how everyone trying to compare skull an bones to all theses other games when it’s not other games do y’all read the book before you talk about it or after you read it’s easy to talk about a game you’ve never played but don’t really know what your talking about I’m happy you can’t get off your ship don’t know if you ever played atlas but every time I was off my ship it got destroyed maybe they where trying make something fun an action packed an adventure unlike most games that are out

I don't ming not being able to get off the ship, but the game is lacking in all departments. The naval combat is terrible, the sailing is terrible, the resource gathering is bad, the microtransactions are there and ready. I hope I'm wrong, but what I saw from the 3 game tests I participated in, this will be a massive flop.

I don't mind not having swordfighting and the game to be focues on naval combat, but the issue is that even the naval combat is terrbile in the game. The one major thing that the game was about is bad.
