Black boys in DC have a graduation problem. Statesmen Academy is looking to change that.
Black boys are failing school at an alarming rate. Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys in Washington, D.C., is tackling that problem by hiring black male teachers and and centering the curriculum around black history.
For the Corbitt Family, Statesmen's curriculum was just what they wanted, and needed, for their son Kiye, who is part of the school's inaugural class.

Because honey !! Black and Hispanic ppl have similar problems but black men at certain age are seen as men who shouldn’t say or feel anything
