Black Beauty - Galloping Home. Cover (Denis King version)

Музыка

This is my cover / recreation of the theme tune to the UK TV show The Adventures of Black Beauty, "Galloping Home", written by Denis King in the 1970's.
I've tried to remain faithful to the main theme, while putting a little spin on the middle section.
The VST instruments used in this track include:
- East West Symphonic Orchestra (Platinum edition).
- East West Symphonic Choirs.
- Halion Symphonic Orchestra.
- Roland FP60 Digital Piano
Every part was worked out by ear and performed by me.
All post production, mixing and mastering was completed by me in Cubase 10.5.
I hope you like it, and thanks for watching.
Julian

This is just absolutely amazing! I'm in tears listening to what is probably one of the best tv themes ever written. You did a fantastic job. Thank you. 😊

I love it. I loved it as a Kid. This is brilliantly worked out, close to the original, But captured the spirit of the piece... 👍😊👌 All by ear. That's great! I only heard about Marco de Goiej who fully reconstructed Deep Purples " Concerto for Group & Orchestra composed by jon lord 1969,but the Partiture was lost. De Goiej reconstructed by using the Video VHS tape from 1969 In these days with Software it seems to be a lot easier But work is work And you did great work on Dennis King piece of music. 👍🥂

I was watching this again on nigtshift, such a good version. It used to make me sad as a child watching the horse running through the meadows to this tune. An underrated theme song is the Crossroads theme tune by Tony Hatch orchestra, I love the key changes in that.

I remember my Dad had a TV themes album on vinyl when I was a young kid, and black beauty was the last track on side 2....I think I practically wore it out 😁. Crossroads? Never really appealed to me that one... Maybe I'll have to go back and re-evaluate.

@@juliancroot it never appealed to me when I was young but listening to it now I appreciate it more, although the original sounds dated. I often think about trying to do a modern version, but it sits at the bottom of my list.

@@ge0music307 I think the theme itself of the original 1970s version and general instrumentation of the same is pretty timeless - I think what makes the original version sound a bit dated is the closed hihat ticking throughout and the quick articulated ascents and descents of the woodwinds which transition some of the notes of the main melody (that the brass section does not do). I think the “doo doo / ahh” of the choir also contributes to it sounding a little dated. Any other syllables, it wouldn’t so much I don’t think. Just my $0.02, such as it is.

Bravo!!! Bravissimo, Maestro!!! You should send this to Denis King, cos I’m sure he would love it!!! I didn’t think I could enjoy any version as much as the original, but you’ve added a Wall of Sound dimension to it without ruining any of the original’s Perfect Beauty!!! Well Done!!! ❤

An amazing interpretation of this classic theme tune bringing back happy childhood memories. Would you be so kind as to allow me to use snippets of this in an introduction to my KZread videos. All credit to yourself and to the original writer Denis King. I've bought a Triumph Rocket 3 motorcycle and have called it Black Beauty. I want to parody the original series opening with shots of the bike and this tune.
