Black and white saved my photography
Ойын-сауық
Black and white photography will be around for as long as cameras exist. Watch this video 20 years from now. I guarantee it will be just as evocative and provoking as today.
...unless fujifilm removes acros from their cameras. Then maybe it will suck but that's never going to happen right?

Very well put... I agree 100% with the way you described the "why" of B&W.
Simple. Eloquent. Thank you.
You're the best! I appreciate your videos so much. Clear concise, and truly helpful! Thank you!
Brilliant. Some really thought provoking ideas👏👏👏
I feel the same about B&W, and often shot my X100V in Acros. However, I found that because the camera could shoot color, I would sometimes fall back into the "safety net" of color. So, I sold my Fuji and splurged on a (very) lightly used Leica Q2 Monochrom. It has far exceeded my expectations and has unleashed my love of B&W to a whole different level. If you could get your hands on a Q2M I very highly recommend taking it for a spin, even if you only rent one.

Haha, I have people I know who own the q2m, I've shot a few times... It's... Definitely something I'm still working towards 😂
Thank You...
Thank you for this beautiful inspiration! Enjoyed it a lot! B&W fascinates me a lot....
I really enjoy shooting the Acros+R film simulation with my Fuji X100V! It’s brilliant! 📷🙂
Una maravilla de vídeo y una maravilla de fotos. Muchas gracias por su trabajo. Saludos desde el norte de España.
nice recipe!
Exceptionally well said man. This video is likely my new favourite of yours now.

I thought you would appreciate this one ❤️
I love b&w photography too! I found that instead of the viewer and photographer focusing on the colour, b&w concentrates on the story you are telling. Each photograph is a story and b&w goes hand-in-hand with that. It really does add depth to your photography. All my work is 95% b&w. Incredible photos Jay! Well done! 👍

Thankyou Lucy! You're absolutely correct ☺️
Excellent video mate! You explained my exact thoughts. Love your work.
Love this!
HelloJay fantastic video. I also love black & white photography. Some weeks ago I bought Pentax K3 monochrome camera and I;m very happy. B&W is great art. Best from Poland.

Ohhh what a fantastic purchase! You will have a lot of fun with it 👍
Color is ordinary. It's what you see. Always. As does everyone else. Every moment of every day. Monochrome stands out. It's extraordinary. It's _art._
Very good, Jay. I myself have been leaning more and more towards bnw photos for the very same reasons you've clearly stated in this video. I'm looking forward in seeing what you see, capture and create. Enjoy the journey mate.....
Great video mate!

Thanks Hiro! I hope you find great value from the recipe, I've been using it exclusively for the past 2 years
Good video. I usually shoot really saturated colours but you’ve inspired me to try black and white for a change. Thanks so much for the simulation recipe ✌️

Great to hear a bit of your journey and your suggestions here mate. Also great to see such a wide range of your photography too. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Thanks Ben! Though with an M mono you probably don't need many film simulations to make it work 🔥

@@JayRegular true that. But still, appreciate your suggestions buddy!
Thank you for this video. I enjoyed your perspectives and the feelings you associate with the process of making B&W photos. I'll give a try to your recipe (interesting use of the WB at -8,-8), and to practice shooting in B&W first instead of color and then edit them to B&W.

One thing to keep in mind when shooting this recipe is if you export to color in image editing software, you will need to fix the white balance, as everything will look very green otherwise
Nice mate! I'm relating with this so much right now too. Been a solid 2 weeks of shooting only in b&w and not sure when that's gona change!
