When I heard not g was 2 sets down I was very upset ! My teacher said, well he has to lose sometime, but of course that was not to be on this occasion but against Mac in the final

Super qualité d'image. C'est ce genre de match ajouté à la rivalité avec Mcenroe qui a véritablement popularisé le tennis. Comme disait Mac, Connors peut perdre 100 fois de suite contre vous, il continuera de penser qu'il peut vous avoir.

The quality of this is amazing until the ball is in play..but it could be cleaned up..Wimbledon channel is almost worse!

He was already deeply "burn out". According to one Swedish documentary, he has enough from the year 1979. On the other hand this was a great match 6:0 and 0:6 in the same match, you don't see that often.

@@michaelm7717 I believe that. I think that 1980 Wimbledon Final between him & John McEnroe, the greatest tennis match ever played, burnt him out even though he won that match. What makes that 1980 Wimbledon Final so tragic for Borg was that he should've won it in 4 sets. He was two points away on his serve from winning the match. After that epic match we just saw the left over residue of his greatness. I'm not taking anything away from John McEnroe's victories over Borg in their last three Grand Slam Finals but things would've been different had John McEnroe played a prime Bjorn Borg especially on clay. I wish Bjorn Borg did what Ivan Lendl did after John McEnroe was briefly dominating him by getting himself into better strength physical conditioning and working on changing his game a little bit.

He's only 25. He won the French, made it to the Wimbledon and USO final. How could his game be on the decline?

@@theoriginalthinker9199 He lost both Finals & Jimmy Connors, who he owned, won the first two sets convincing against Bjorn Borg in this Semi-Final which he never would've been able to do against Borg in his prime. In his comeback in this match to win the next three sets Bjorn Borg didn't look right. In the 1981 U.S. Open Final against John McEnroe he was missing shots when McEnroe wasn't even pressuring him. He was just awful in that Final.

@@SuperPrince1007Nobody ever "owned" Jimmy Connors. Head to head Borg has the advantage, but Connors beat him at the 76 and 78 USO final, while Borg was in his prime. The 76 was played on clay. Borg's favorite surface, and Connors least favorite. Borg received death threats prior to the 81 USO final, which may account for why he played so bad, but the bottomline is, 25 years old is way too young to be declining.

J’étais en 5ème..le JT de 20h avait diffusé des images du 5ème set ..On croyait Borg perdu ..mais sa remontée fut mémorable
