Now we know why USSF selected Berhalter for this cycle. It's the only way they can continue to bring in shitty players like Roldan, Long, Sands, Yedlin, Miazga, Morris, Ferreira, etc. No sane soccer manager would continue to bring in these players anymore. Their skill level is far below the players that played in the Nation's League. MLS must have been afraid of USSF selecting a foreign manager who would base his roster selections on merit, and not on familiarity. If GGG continues to bring in his MLS favorites, I'm just going to stop watching games, and only tune in when the real team is playing.

Is it really on BJ when you have Roldan Morris and Long on a team?

And is it really on him if GGG or USSF was influencing who he could select for the roster?

In a tournament. Crappy players vs semi-crappy opponents= loss.

I think the BJ era is over, but not because he blew it. He won a tournament with the top guys. Then he reached a semifinal with a very underwhelming squad and didn't embarrass us against some teams that came to win. If he leaves the USMNT staff entirely, it will be because he gets an opportunity elsewhere. He has at least earned an interview at some club somewhere.

I agree with Chuck. The US is so worried about feelings and vibes over play. Also I hope Gregg can implement new style of play. They speak so much on identity and win or lose it sounds very hard headed

It's all bullshit. The USSF is full of it. There is no way the USMNT is making it past the round of 16 at the 2026 WC with these people in charge of the team.

That's all good to hear from Chuck about no longer bringing in these old time harmony players, but does GGG SEE THAT? September will be telling.

Mckennie played 1 half of a match under Jesse before he was sacked, and then Leeds proceeded to change its style and tactics, he never really played the “Red Bull” style at Leeds

No worse than Berhalter. Gregg just has that Carlo Ancelotti level gravitas going for him.

I dont see how he did anything wrong. The line up he put out against Panama was exactly the one everybody i listen to or read wanted to see. Otherwise he was mostly a winner.

BJ was good, but exploded too soon with that Nations League triumph. Ended up disappointing

Just goes to show how bad the USMNT B team is, or just the overall lack of depth outside the starting XI is. The gold cup team selection is just trash. We’ve seen a majority of the players in this selection and low and behold, they are who they’ve shown they are time and time again.

Nah, this ain't the B team. This was a C/D team. Every spot for the best starting XI has a viable quality sub and none of these guys that played at the Gold Cup are any of them (except for Turner, he is a quality keeper).

Boo! No one can argue that he didn’t have our starters looking infinitely better than they ever have in Greg’s pathetic “system.” Y’all are some shills for Greg. Big time
