Student ako sa UP Diliman mga taong 1967, (ganyan na ako ka tanda) libre manood sa University Theater at sa Abelardo Hall ng mga perfomance ng UP Madrigal Singers, UP Concert Chorus, UP Cherubims at Seraphims, sooo heavenly ang kanilang musiko at melody, unparalleled performances. Wala ako ng pinalalampas na performance nila. These bring back soo many amazing memories. GOD BLESS you all!!!

Ageless! This song is as moving as the 1st time I heard it in my 20s. The meaning of the song is somehow different now in my 60s. The longing and willingness to sacrifice everything to a lover, as I interpreted it in my younger years, now, are like a prayer to willingly surrender everything and be one with my Maker. Amazing how age makes us see things from a different perspective. By the way, kudos to Madrigal Singers. They never disappoint in interpreting songs. Well done!

When I am very stressed and cannot sleep at night, I listen to the music of MADZ . . . "Bituing Walang Ningning", a poignant, romantic, soulful song that tells about our loves, dreams and aspirations . . . is one of my very favorite songs by the UP/Philippine Madrigal Singers.

In the Philippines, a singing group, especially the Madrigal Singers, does not simply sing for singing sake. We have to know what is the message the song conveys as shown by the lyrics. Apply the interpretation to the tune and you will know how to project the song whether loud or soft. The application is universal even if the song is in other dialects or languages.

@@NOIRIST "So many stars I've reached but my heaven is still with you" is the translation but it's sounds more poetic in Filipino, haha!. It's a classic Filipino song written by Willie Cruz entitled "Bituing Walang Ningning" which literally means "Star With No Sparkle".

NOIRIST it is a love song in general but not limited to a person. It can be for God. I relate it to my motherland, the Philippines. RM ALFARO is right. Translating the lyrics literally to English is not as half the beauty of the song, but it can still be felt. The genius of the great Willie Cruz (🎚) played so well on the lyrics. Purely poetic. But yes, the song can be for Him.
