I once met Bisping in line at a Sprouts. I didn’t notice him at first but I heard him talk to the cashier and immediately recognized his voice. This was just after he beat Brain Stann in 2012. I said his name to immediately confirm it was him and he responded. He was extremely kind and asked my name while shaking my hand. He was purchasing some food and flowers! Became a bigger fan of him that day.

I'm sure I remember hearing that in South Africa some decades ago they used to sell a kit to install a flamethrower under your car so you could burn the face off car muggers but that only resulted in muggers shooting the victim in the face without warning to ensure they wouldn't get burned to crisps so it wasn't very effective. Have you heard about this? Edit: it was called the blaster and it was invented in 1998. I had to Google it to make sure I didn't dream it

@@robertjordaan9924 No its not. Johannesburg is factually less dangerous the Cape Town. And if we talk about the whole province, Western Cape makes Gauteng seem like Norway in terms of safety. Drugs are also less rife among Gauteng crooks, which reduces homicidal robberies by a huge margin. You can also visit maximum security prisons from each of those two provinces to see first hand the differences in mindset between Western cape crooks and Gauteng crooks. Kzn is also another rough province. I don't know why people keep going to those war zone provinces when there a whole 6 provinces that are significantly much more safer. You'll even have Capetown residents fleeing the whole country instead of just saving money and moving to Limpopo.

I lived in green Point, Cape Town for a few years in my early twenties. One night I was visiting a friend in Rondebosch and left her place at around 10pm thinking I could just get a taxi home (I was still new to the city). Well, I stood on the main road for a while and no taxis would stop for me, and eventually I just started walking towards the city, hoping a cab or people carrier would stop for me at some point. In retrospect I realised I'm an idiot because I should have just gone back to my friend's place and asked to crash on her couch. No taxis stopped and I'd been walking for about an hour when I found myself in Woodstock, which has/ had a reputation for being quite a dodgy area. The streets were deserted and my eyes were darting left and right and scoping out every corner when, from an alley to my right, three guys come trotting out towards me, asking me what I had for them. I'd passed a police station at one point during my long walk and in the same second I registered the guys approaching me, I thought back to that police station, spun 180 degrees and started sprinting at top gear. The guy closest to me stuck his foot out and tried to trip me, but I felt like Neo from the Matrix in that moment and jumped over his sweeping, outstretched leg, hit the tar and sped off, with all three of them giving chase. Now, I could have just stayed put and let them rummage through my backpack and pockets only to find I had almost zero cash and nothing of value on me, but it being South Africa, they may have just stabbed me up either way regardless and I didn't want to take that chance. Hence the swift exit. Anyway, speeding off I left two of the guys in the dust fairly quickly, with only one guy managing to keep up with me. During the chase, the dude nailed me twice with a rock on the back of the foot in an effort to take me down. I barely registered these and they pinged off my foot like a bullet ricochet (nice aim on the guys behalf though!). I imagine I looked like a cartoon character, with both legs spinning in circles, leaving a cloud of dust behind me. After a few seconds (what felt a lot longer) he eventually gave up but I kept pace, gained more distance and made my way to the cop shop I'd seen earlier. When I arrived, there was a black guy who had had a similar experience and was waiting to talk to an officer. He asked what had happened to me and when I told him he said "I don't want to sound funny, but dude, you're white!!". The implication being "what the hell is your dumb ass doing walking through Woodstock at 11pm??". After a while, and some arguments with a couple of less than helpful cops, I eventually managed to get a taxi to collect me and take me home. I'll tell you one thing, if there is some sort of afterlife and we get to ask a question about our life, I'd love to know what time I clocked for the 100 meters, because I damn sure would have given Usain Bolt a run for his money!

I have lived in South Africa all my life and it can be dangerous, especially to the uninformed. For the most part the criminal element are cowards and will always use a blitz attack to catch you off gaurd. As a biker I'm constantly aware of my surrounds because it literally could be life or death. Glad you survived my beautiful country, and I'm sure you will agree, you have to be tough to live in Africa.😀

Having survived a few blitz attacks myself I can attest. The thing is that living here in South Africa you are always aware and always ready. Like you state Stan, people who are not use to the environment here will stand out like a sore thumb. They in effect make themselves a target even more so than your normal South African. Walking around at 2AM looking at you phone acting like your lost, not the best idea. So to anyone reading this, in South Africa, never look like you are not in control or lost especially at night.
