Bison Roundup in Yellowstone National Park

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Park Rangers direct the bison herds with their trucks (sirens blaring and lights flashing) across the Yellowstone River bridge south of Lamar Valley. The bison are often moved from one pasture area to another via the main north/south road.

Like the choice of music. It fits well with the movement of the buffs. Goodness, many came to cross over the bridge. What special memories you must have of being in Yellowstone. Thanks for posting!

That would have been hilarious if all the Bison had jumped off of the bridge and the Rangers were there screaming...... OH GAWD! WHY! 😭

@@darlenelovre848 thank you for saying to the ignorant commenter that he should have walked off the bridge (not the bison). He was insensitive, arrogant and ignorant to the max.

You would think with the millions of acres the Buffalo have for roaming, they would not be using the road. Why did they choose the particular direction for travel they did?

The park rangers move the bison from one pasture area to another (1 mile distance). The quickest route is via the highway over the Yellowstone River.

You seem to be knowledgeable. Do Park Rangers give instructions for what tourists should do with these kinds of Bison jams? The guy with the cell phone filming, seems awfully close for comfort.

The park rangers were in the vehicles blocking traffic so the bison herd could move down the highway and across the Yellowstone River to the other pasture. The rangers weren't out telling people who were out of their cars to get out of the way.

You should see the precipice that they crossed using the road. It would take an expert mountain climber.

Where and why are they rounded up? These people should stay in cars. Stupid! You gotta respect animals. Buffalo probably thirsty and hungry after all that!

The park rangers move the bison herds from one pasture to another each week. This is the shortest route from one pasture to another. Yes, the people are stupid to stand right where the bison walk.

@@kurtbayless3531 No they do not, this is management practices to keep them out of Montana and contained inside the park. Bison in Yellowstone are wild animals, they aren't rotated like cattle they're being hazed from native habitat in Montana.
