    Hi Mio, I recently became your fan while searching for bishops opening videos. I plan to purchase your chessable course: Butcher with Bishop opening but I didnt aware if you also cover Bc5 by black as 2nd move. If yes please let me know and any link to the video will be much appreciated. Thanks again for all Bishops opening videos. I might also fell in love with your other videos soon :P

    You have covered it there and it transposes into other variations and in case i haven’t covered it as second move, don’t worry you have all deviations with it in the course

    What is the point of moving the pawn to d3 for consolidating the center and locking the light square bishop out instead of making room for it to escape by moving pawn to a3? If a3 then it can't be forced into exchange with the black knight but even the engine says that d3 us the best move. Why? What does it accomplish? Thank you in advance!

  • @MiodragPerunovicOfficial

    @MiodragPerunovicOfficial

    d3 is consolidating your center, if you need to keep the LS Bishop then you will play a3 followed by Ba2 but many times we give up the LS Bishop after Na5-Nc4 and then you focus on the attack on the king side. Also, by playing d3 you avoid Ne4 by Black followed by d5…

    Thank you! I just remembered that trap line when the black knight takes the king pawn and then forks with his queen pawn the bishop and your knight. And I just got an idea: I started a few days ago to watch your videos after I just discovered your channel on KZread and as I can see you are saying many times that the light square bishop is a very powerful and dangerous weapon on attacking the black castled king so why to lock it out? I know, consolidating the center and the forks with the queen pawn but what if we instead of opening with the king pawn we just move the a pawn to a3 or to a5 and after that we start the attack? Also moving the a pawn I think I have seen it in a video and it was talking about that this is a kind of modern opening. Maybe you would do some videos on this too, please? Thank you in advance! Thank you for everything!

    Shame, shame. Mio you usually spot the knockout tactics immediately, but in this case you missed the best continuations. At the 7:45 mark white's position is so overwhelming that 3 different moves win. d4 is actually only the 3rd best move. I'm only a rusty NM but I immediately spotted Bh6!. I also had a suspicion that Rxe5 wins, but since Bh6 is a clean continuation I opted for that. Sure enough when I checked with Stockfish 16 all 3 moves win with Bh6 and Rxe5 closely ranked 1 & 2. This game is an excellent illustration of Fischer's saying "tactics flow from strong positions". BTW, Fischer and Kasparov created some epic demolitions with Bishop's opening. Your readers should look those games up.
