I tried the Good luck biryani today along with chicken chaap. Chicken chaap was good, biryani was mildly flavoured but strong fragrance of some artificial essence. Good point is it’s budget friendly and easy to digest. Thanks for the recommendation.

Growing up in Patna in 80s / early 90s, there were far fewer restaurants or eateries. Eating out with family happened only on special occasions. Top restaurant at that time was Chanakya hotel’s family restaurant. Ankur at Boring road patna had excellent butter chicken. (Sad to the state of this place now.) Sweet home pastry/bakery was top notch. Before pizza hut or Domino’s, sweet home introduced us to this western food (which we would see so often in Archie comics). It was called ‘chicken chili Pizza’. Chicken roll meant making a trip to Mayfair (I heard it is now history) near DakBunglow chowk. Maybe after the lockdown an episode on yesteryears food joints and how they are now. Keep up the good work 👍

Ye you are right there wasn't so many eateries in Patna. For Dosa there was Vasant Vihar, then there was Soda Fountain at Gandhi Maidan, Patna Junction area was famous for Lassi and Chaat.

Rajasthan hotel on Fraser road for vegetarian food. Quality Corner was the ultimate sweet destination. Santushti came in 80s and became an instant hit. (Now the lane itself is known after this place). Please try to show the current state of these places. Would be very interesting.

Biryani by kilo is highly over rated and expensive too. I tried their biryani 3 times in different cities and every time I was disappointed. Excessive use of kewra and rose water kills everything.

None of them are original Kolkata biriyani.. The one from Biriyani Mahal looks the closest to it. Actual Kolkata biriyani is mild, light, no overpowering masala, fragrant, chicken pieces are more boiled and juicy and you can't see the masala coating on them, aloo and egg. It is distinct because of its mildness, aroma and aloo only. It's an art.. it's an emotion! Kisi bhi cheez ko masaledaar banana asaan kaam hai..

Try deonar biryani from lucky restaurant, you will love it

Waise ye 1 person 250₹ padi. Mujhe sab se jaada 120₹ ki achhi lagi . Kam price wale masala jaada daalte hai. Biryani mehal walo ka chicken pic achaa lagaa. Over all nice video.

80-85% good Biryani places in Patna are offering Kolkata Biryani. It's really hard to get got Hyderabadi or Lucknowi Biryani in Patna.

I make hydrabadi Dum Briyani at home

They all use basmati rice in Briyani. When we eat Briyani rice should not give own flavour, it overpower the taste of Briyani. Always use golden Sella rice.

Biryani by Kilo I feel is having good consistency to eat, and its masala don't irritate throat and hygiene is also good, though I have not eaten other two Biryani.

For me biryani means shama biryani opposite of nrl petrol pump bypass

Biryani by kilo price high but quality not too much better than normal biryani

Mr Robin that is not kewda, it is bengal biryani where ideally kesar is used. Whether they use real kesar aur not that is diff thing. Biryani mahal biryani is basically bengal biryani. The other two famous biryani types are hyderabad and awadh biryani. The other two restaurants u have shown are a mix of both. Neither authentic awadh nor hyderabadi and with use of potato in biryani there is some similarity with bengali biryani also.
