I disliked this video due to the unprofessionalism of the ladies. Firstly she washed her hands in the water and then put that same water into the curry. That is disgusting. Secondly if you are going to be publishing consider your pronunciations and speaking proper English. This is why Indians are made of fun off.

Hi Rose Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it. You are correct in your assessment, none of us are professionals. A little about the show. The aim of the project is to document these recipes straight from the older generation, allowing them to leave a legacy. Everyone is volunteering their time on this project. Each episode takes approximately 7 hours to put together. The guests that come on, bring their own ingredients and take the meal home to their family afterward. We try to record the sections with one take because it's scary enough for them to be in front of the camera and put themselves out there, I don't want to add unnecessary stress by asking them to speak in a manner that they don't normally speak. At the risk of being unprofessional, I would rather have them be themselves... If that's not to some peoples standards, I accept that. I hear the food network is very professional, they are on DSTV (Channel 175) With regards to washing her hands in the water, we were all caught off guard with that. It was an accident, there's a lot going on with the lights and camera in front of them while cooking. It's not the same as cooking at home. I saw it as an unplanned, candid moment and I hoped that people would see it that way as well. There's a lot for us to learn and we appreciate the feedback. We want to be better but it's not what you say, it's how you say it. My details are on the website, facebook page, Instagram profile, etc, there were many private ways to do this. That being said, we're always looking for people that are passionate about cooking and would love to have you on. Show us how it's done :)

OMG. That's so funny, literally LOL although I think Rose meant well and is sincere. As a linguist and a Honor student in Anthropology and an FET English Educator here is my 2 cent....While it is true that people make fun of Indians for their pronunciation of English words or just the use of the English language in general, they are people that are insecure, not very well educated and simply lack empathy. Indians have brought alot to the world, Honey, the English language is not even a pure language as English it's self has words within the language that are either of Anglo-Saxon, Scandinavian, Brittonic or Goidelic Celtic, French Latin etc. It is a language that has developed over the years and Indians can take something from the harsh British colonizers who oppressed them for years, even if it is the English language and make it their own, they don't need to follow the British or American accents. They do not need to constantly made feel inferior or less than or like they are not good enough for having brown skin. They suffered enough during British colonization and indentured laborers (another form of slavery and extreme exploitation for years), deprived an education not by their own desire and a lot had been taken away from them. Having an accent or incorrect pronunciation according to whose standards? Accents and so called incorrect pronunciation is absolutely no reflection on IQ or the Intelligence of a person. My grandmother was the wisest and most intelligent person I knew. God Bless her soul but she never speak the Queens English. Besides India added 0 to Maths, Snakes and Ladders, Chess, Buttons, Natural Fibres, Cataract surgery: Diamonds was first discovered in India, there is alot more...#Indians are the best. # Thank you so much Passing It On. I have travelled abroad but I still love Indian food. LOL #Proud to be Indian.
