Hopefully this will be a lesson to fans and clubs who get too big for their boots and don't think they can do worse. Wolves did the same a few years ago when they sacked Mick McCarthy and then got relegated

Cov fan here, and I feel for the Blues fans. Blues bailed us out big time when we had terrible owners, letting us use their ground, and now they’ve ended up with similar owners. I hope they stay up, love the Cov vs Blues game each year, although we need 3 points this weekend!

Whilst the decision to sack Eustace was abysmal, we don’t have terrible owners, we have what seem to be brilliant owners who just made a monumentous error of judgement. They will stick around to get us back up regardless of what happenns in the next 4 weeks or so.

I like Birmingham. Old school club. But there are loads of clubs in the lower divisions that used to be in the old Div 1.

Surly Walsall have to be considered for the city stadium if they go down

The ex millwall manager is doing a great job there. Enjoy the 1st division. So glad to see the back of him . Couldn't believe the blues owners thought Rowlette defensive way would keep them up.

Since when have Birmingham City ever been a ‘big club’? Big fish in small pond if they go down? I like Brum, good fans and great history, but when you look at the teams who have been down to League One recently, Brum are nowhere near one of the big clubs to have done it. Sunderland, Leeds, Wednesday, Sheff Utd, Derby to name a few.

I have to say that I blamed Rooney for the disaster this season, but lets be clear, these players have failed to perform under 4 other managers. How can you only have 1 shot on target in a game as important as yesterday's? The players may have talent, but they have no guts and seemingly no pride. If we are ever in a war please don't put any of them in my trench.

Blues fan here. Would be gutted if we get relegated, but wouldnt feel as bad as i wouldve a season ago. Weve got rich ambitious owners now that have big plans for the clubs future, already working on a new stadium and sports complex. Relegation would be a small setback, but with the invesment coming into the club, we'll be at our goal, which is the prem, in under 5 years

West Brom fan here. Don’t think league one is a push-over. I was at the Leyton Orient v Exeter game this week as a neutral. For two sides with little to play for, I was hugely impressed with the passing and tempo. I’ve seen quite a few league one games this season with Stevenage too. It’s a very tough and demanding league.

I would literally never trust my club's owners again if they did what they did this season. Would Eustace have got playoffs, probably not? But he certainly would not have them in the bottom 3. These owners are horrible leeches and Brum fans should not be making excuses for them like the chaps here in the video. There's no point saying "fair play to them for admitting they were wrong", they shouldn't have done it in the first place. Literally everyone said sacking Eustace for Rooney would be a catastrophic mistake, and their bloodsucking, greedy, impatient owners went ahead and did it anyway.

The co owners, investors Toms Wagner and Brady are clueless, absolutely clueless about this sport. It’s their money to waste but they are wrecking community spirit and supporters’ joy of football with their totally incompetent running of this club. Everyone with half a brain knew the Rooney thing was wrong from the start. Yet they, the lords of soccer, ignored everyone who said Eustace should stay. How you go from 6th to relegation within months is testament to Wagner and Brady’s cluelessness. Really they should stick to sports they know.

stop blaming owners....i keep seeing this if you know how it works.....gary cook....he is director of football....cook has been hired by the owners to take the club forward so he went for rooney who he knows personally.....then the owners stepped in and got mowbary as it wasnt working and need to make a u-turn......if you work in a hotel and the GM sacks you or employs someone that is nothing to do with owners.....gary cook was hired for that job which we all know back fired with Rooney.thats it......if we bought a striker in the first place...stans would be playing on the left or right. we had got ourselves in this position.... if jukes was fit stans would not be upfront

60K stadium in league 1, how many was at St Andrews last night 20k, and thats in the Championship, i would stick with the stadium you have and invest in a better team 1st, take it from a Cov fan, you might end up like us, league 2, no stadium at all, yes we are finally back challenging for the play offs top 6ish, but that took years to get to, what we would give to have Highfield rd back, hopefully King will get this ground CBS off Ashley in the near future, PUSB.

All I can say is if you had seen Rooney's D.C United team, you would know he is never ever going to be even a half decent manager. But you can say the same sadly about Gattuso sadly loved Gattuso as a player personally, but he is not going to ever be the next Jose or Pep & nether is Rooney. Some crazy owners will give Rooney & Gattuso chance after chance just because of their names, not their ability as mangers. Birmingham City is a big club with a tin pot mentality. The problem is it's been that way for too long.

Gary Cook is to blame for mugging the new owners off to sign Rooney.

Blues arent cursed, the simple fact is poor decisions by a nieve board have led to this position. Sacking Eustace was madness, apoointing Rooney was even crazier! Bribging in Mowbray shows that there was no due diligence and to bring out the new stadium card thats 5 years away is desperate! The board talks so positively abiut the club but its all business centric, Wagner has a constant corporate narrrative about "driving revenue and match day experience." As a blues fan those statements when knighthead first took over was great, exciting and full of hope. But 1 season on the results are awful, the teams poor and no amount of fire cannons, nice pies or half time raffles is going to resolve this situation. You wont fill a 60,000 capacity stadium in league 1 - so there focus will be on "other' events and utilisation to get a return. It will distract them from football, and that ciuld mean league 2 here we come!
