Replace Huntsville with Tuskegee or Valley or Talladega.

U could really do a video on just the westside & west jefferson county alone when it comes to Bham hoods, doesn't get any rougher than that anywhere else in the state, except Selma & Prichard, they get active too.

now this is a place that actually looks as hood as it is...unlike fla,atl, etc

that is an interesting drive; obviously the neighborhood has a lot of potential, and sad to see it so run down; the stone wall at 20:42 could be really elegant in a different setting. Interestingly the cemetery looks maintained, grass is groomed., 22 minutes. The hills in the neighborhood are nice. This may have been a nice neighborhood at one time. Really need to figure out a way to keep neighborhoods safe, nice and maintained; there is a lot there, from schools, to intact marriages, for many people church life, maybe the big work is CULTURE of hard work, it takes a lot of hard work. Josie, and Katie, thank you for posting this video, it is important for people to see these things. There is a lot there to think about. Hope you are well in Alabama. Naples misses you. Junk is piling up everywhere. Not really, but still miss you in Florida.

When our government decided that the man was no longer important in the home, and they broke up the natural family structure, there went the structure and discipline, and safety of the neighborhood.

This reminds me of Collegeville, those projects especially.

Grew up in Inglenook, dangerous now.

Demolition maybe in order at many places there,probably can't keep up with the blight.Birmingham is reminiscent Southern Version of the Rust Belt Cities in the Northeast and Midwest,in the first half of the 20th Century it actually competed with Atlanta.

@@stephenscuba6284 That's a pretty big community!!! I'm originally from Boston, and we have many, many projects, but they're all in separate areas. In the Bronx there are different projects that blend in together. I saw an interview here on KZread by a resident of one of them. He said when he was a kid that he had friends in all the different projects, he'd just walk across the path from his house to his friends' houses in the other projects. He said that those days are long gone; now each project is at war with the other. That's heartbreaking. 😪 I wonder if the different projects in this area get along or are at war with one another too ...?

You're showing all the black neighborhoods in Birmingham.
