SEPTEMBER!!! We had a grey cockatiel when I was a young teenager, he used to perform Stars and Stripes Forever. I miss him a lot, and for Christmas I gave my mother a lovely pillow with a cockatiel on it. She loved it, she immediately said, “Tiki!”, our bird’s name. We named him after the Enchanted Tiki Room Birds at Walt Disney World in 1982. He lived until 2002. He called the cats, even the name Garfield our tabby. He did the wolf whistle. Smart bird, he was very loved!

20 years. That's awesome! I have a grey and white girl. 4 years old. She doesn't do anything that the internet would find amusing but she loves me a ton, and I love her. She flies in tiny circles around my head when I'm walking through the house, and screams at my nephews whenever we're wrestling/fighting.

Birds are not smart. All creatures mimic to some degree. It's instinctual. Being cute doesn't make them smart. Yeah, party killer me. The bad guy. I love nature without being deluded. Being ignorant doesn't make nature better. It makes humans dangerous. The same way Tyrannosaurus would look cute munching on your family. Birds come from dinosaurs too and they have no idea what they are imitating, but it's cute. Nothing to do with smart. That said, it was fun to watch these interesting behaviors from dumb birds. Similar to watching people dogs loving treats.

I so love the fact that the cockatiel on the left was so confused about the song the cockatiel on the right was singing, so (s)he tried two different tunes that seem to match 🤣 The " If you're happy" and "Another one bites the dust" are awesome songs as well, but the cockatiel on the right was so passionate about teaching the one on the left how to properly sing "Dancing to September", it didn't change the beat 😂 They're so cute! 💕

….Um I don’t think there is a mirror. If you look at the owner’s hands you can see the feet of all four birds. Also the two birds on the very end of her fingers don’t move the exact same as the two birds in front of them. Also there is no reflection of her hands like it would be in a mirror.

Deadass can't tell if that's a mirror or if it's just four extremely well-trained birds being remarkably synchronized.

It's important to teach a cockatiel to talk first, before you teach them to sing songs to entertain you or they will not learn to speak at all. Each time you try to teach them words they will sing instead of trying to talk. Cockatiels are the sweetest parrots a person could ever want to own. I had one for 24 years. He was my best friend & I made it my mission in life to give him everything a cockstiel needs to be perpetually healthy & happy. I loved him so much I was inconsolable for months after his death. He died suddenly & of old age. He was never sick a day in his life but, he did fly into a mirror once & broke his little leg. An exotic animal vet treated him & put a cast on his leg, which healed perfectly.

I had one of those kind of birds. He was the nicest pet I've ever had, he would sing so beautifully, was funny and always uplifting. He would scream all morning until I got up and as soon as he saw me he would start singing instead. Me too! I never thought I’d ever get attached to a bird. His name was Pretty Boy. He followed me around the house and took naps while perched on my shoulder. I traveled for work. He would sit on his perch, waiting at the window for me to come home. When I was home, I took him everywhere. Everyone in my small community knew my bird. The kids at my son’s elementary school especially loved him. When he passed, it broke my heart.

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED!!! This was my “first” HILARIOUS , HILARIOUS, KZread short, ever watched!!!! I laughed for weeks… sent it over and over to my family members…. And I would literally greet my family with this whistle and neck dance !!! Oh Lord…. And here I am a year later… still cracking up! 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️

I love how the furthest birb couldn’t help but go along with “if ur happy and u know it,” and the closest birb was like, “Sharon, ur ruining our duet! Ok, Bob. Let’s start from the top!” 😂

I used to raise cockatiel's. My male bird used to whistle"Tequila", " you are my sunshine," and also "if you're happy and you know it clap your hands." I miss my birds

Dancing in September arrr superb . God love them they are soooo beautiful. Good on ya for doing that made me smile . What a group they were , and the birds 😊

I was amazed and thought, wow, how these birds could all coordinate and harmonize together. They are so well trained. Until I started reading the comments. It’s only two, but still job well done. Bravo for them.

I love how the one bird wouldn’t continue the song without the other bird’s little backup chirp. Like he restarted twice lmao

What we DIDN'T realize is that the "main" bird would NOT leave that "ba-dee-ya" part until the "second" bird gave up that good "chirp" response! He was like, "Answer me!" As I myself am a musician, THESE birds are my spirit animals! 😂

I live in Australia where these cockateels come from they fly virtually in thier thousands and are always on time for a free meal they are extremely intelligent birds like budgerigars and come in some pretty spectacular colours .

Now if they could just harmonize ha very cute.

I raised those kind for 16 years. Now I want to do it again I just have to share this little story with you. 22 years ago, we got married. The whole wedding party met at my house. Including my elderly parents. My house was full, while I was getting the final touches on my hair. My birds decided that it was time to mate. If you raise them too, I'm sure you know the sounds that they make. No matter how I tried to stop them, without touching the pair, and getting my dress dirty, They just continued. So I covered them up, and they just continued. Everyone just kept saying,"I didn't know that they would sound like that." I was so embarrassed.

Oh boy, that reminds me of my 9 pound Bombay Cleo. I had the POLICE at my home and he decided that NOW was the time to have separation anxiety and drag his "hump lump" (his kitten bed) into the front room and violently mate with it ON THE FEMALE OFFICER'S FEET. 😳 The abject embarrassment I felt at potentially having to explain why I got arrested was enough to have me yeet both him AND his scummy bed down the hallway...
